put in your vehicle information and shipment locations from and to.
Things you will need to have:
Title
If you are financing, you must have a shipping authorization letter from whomever the lien holder is
Social security number
Picture of drivers License
Shipment from Penn Terminal is on Thursdays and they want the vehicle to them by Tuesday
Shipment from Jacksonville is on Fridays, and they want the vehicle by Wednesday
Price: From Norfolk VA to San Juan was a little over $2600 (door to port) you will make the payment online to the company.

This is a very close estimate of the actual tax sometimes less.
Air tag your vehicle so you can see everywhere it is except on the ship. once its in the container you will have no signal to it.
2. Allow 2 to 3 days once it is In PR port for the pick up of your vehicle.
3. List of paperwork to have with you at the port.
a. Copy of all of your correspondence that was sent to you from the shipping company just for backup
b. Social security card
c. Drivers license
d. Tire disposal fee ( $5.00 each tire size 17”-24”)
e. Excise tax payment (card) My jeep was $2160.00
f. Address the vehicle will be at in PR (if you already have residence address on file in PR)
4. After getting your papers from the port office (Crowley or Trailer Bridge is who my company used) you can either pay your excise tax at the small trailers they have in the parking lot but you will have to wait either 1-3 days for the hacienda to send the verified payment or you cam go directly to the hacienda (tax building in Old San Juan) and have the receipt in hand and then go back to the shipping port and pick it up that day. (the port pick-up close at 2pm)
5. When you have final payment confirmation you will go back to the shippers main office and present it and then you can drive your vehicle out of the secured lot.
6. Next Step: CESCO/DTOP You can walk in or make an appointment, I recommend appointment.
Items needed:
a. Social security card
b. Vehicle inspection paper from any vehicle inspection station ($20.00)
c. Cellos (Stamps) $216.84 can get at any bank. You can also purchase on the app (colecturia digital) they give you. You can take a picture of them when they download on your phone.
d. Vehicle title, or vehicle registration and letter from lienholder if applicable
e. Shipping documentation from the port
f. And plenty of patience.
g. They will give you the marbete digital sticker for your Puerto Rico Insurance which is what one of the stamps are for ($107.00) but you have to go to the Auto Expresso building to get it registered in the system they say you can call but I was unsuccessful on the phone doing it. GO TO THE BUILDING
7. Auto Expresso to register the CESCO digital sticker (given to you by the DMV (CESCO) $15.00
8. YOU ARE OFFICAL !!!!!!!!!!!!
9. Total cost: Shipping (door to port) $2600
Excise tax: $2160
Tire fee: $20 or $25 for 5 tires (spare)
Vehicle Inspection $20
Cellos (stamps) $217
CESCO Digital $15
TOTAL $5037

Great Job I went with a friend who moved back to him home town in Puerto Rico and I went to pick up his shipped car and it takes about 5 hrs waiting around and tons of other people.. enjoy waiting in the hot sun and no benches. Being Puerto Rican and knowing the process it's still frustrating as hell and until you do it a few times it's tough.. going with a friend from the island always helps it would be a good business to start! Did the you get a estimate on the amount of tax you had to pay from the govt website and was it the same amount when you actually got to the car?
Yes I did and about $10.00 cheaper than the estimate

@user-mv7gg7im1k you only have to pay roughly 180.00 which covers your marbete (insurance) and small local fees.

Can youj go on a payment plan for import tax?
No payment plan but you can put it on your credit card. The payment goes to the Hacienda and then they give you the receipt so you can show it to get your vehicle out of the shippers storage yard.
How much do you paid for all processed
For my 2007 Jeep Wrangler valued at 18,000 in Puerto Rico. 2153.69 for the complete Hacienda excise tax and fees. 65.00 for the company that processes your paperwork in the trailers at the port.

So by shipping from the mainland we saved over $7000.00 compared to buying it in PR
