    Teal, I think that was a wise move getting rid of the plastic engine control and going with the metal one. You won't regret it when your miles from any were and that plastic control breaks.

    Teal, maybe you could paint a color/date legend on the engine compartment walls as a handy reference. You know, I noticed I have a lot more of these senior moments, the older I get. 🙄😩😂😂

    Teal that new throttle assembly is a real stunner and I am consistently impressed by your meticulously methodic approach to everything you do and extremely high standards.
    It is a joy to watch you at work and I should think any marine outfitter or potential customer would be happy to have you participate on almost any task👍.

    It was in this video that the crew came up with the " Teal's Three " plan to rob the Casinos in Las Vegas.
    They figured that crawling through small ventilation ducts to the cash counting rooms would be a breeze for them.

    OH Man!! I've been there with snaking the engine controls down and around, back to the store for replacement parts, longer cables and customizing wire harnesses. But when all is said and done, knowing what you have and that you took the time (and expense) to do it right - makes for great peace of mind. Sail on :)

    Poor guy, not getting much respect..and deffinately taken for granted. I'm amazed at how you built everything on that boat and so smooth it looks injection molder. Excellent work. I hope the bad vibes I'm getting turn in the right direction.

    Totally cool approach, dealing with the rust is so important.. that stuff just spreads and spreads. Color coding your work
    is so much easier than going back to a log book and finding an entry where you worked on something and hour meter etc. One look at a graph shows you exactly what year that was done. If I ever need to pick a brain Teal haha .. Your it!

    Hi crew, Greetings from the UK🇬🇧 again.well it's that time of the week for catamaran restoration and you haven't disappointed one bit in the things you do ,this was a total crew workout,Emma and Linh pulling and pushing and Teal doing his best in the tight spaces😂 sometimes it really is trial and error in restoring a certain part but Emma was a magician with the tape measure and was correct in her reading of it. The new throttle control unit is a really nice piece of kit and I don't think you would have been happy with the black and plastic one once fitted and changing it now is better and will prevent possible problems in the future,l liked the river police coming to cool you all down( or wash the boat)😂 have fun guys , until the food vlog, 👍 all the best and stay safe 👋🇬🇧

    Loved this video gays!!! I had been in the same situation going to the marine store at least 5 times a day. In the end I was already embarrassed to go back their until I started meeting the same customers under the exact situation. I think regardless of much we plan ahead this will always happen right! Wish you all the best here from Brazil!

    Hey Teal, its obvious you love your cordless Oscillating tool as much as I love mine, so handy for so many things. It would be cool for us tool geeks if you did a video about your arsenal of tools that you keep aboard. Which ones are the most priceless for the work you are doing, and what tools did you wish you could have? Also, when all the refitting is done, which tools are a must to keep aboard and which ones will leave ashore? BTW, I am in the slow process of upgrading all my power tools to Milwaukee Fuel 18V and Fuel 12V. I made that choice because my Oscillating tool and Impact Driver are both Milwaukee, use the same battery, and they are die-hard strong. With the Milwaukee line I will have only one charging station that charges both the 18V and 12V batteries, the whole tool range gives me the most choices of available tools, and the brushless motors are beast! My Porta-ban saw can slice through 3/8" Stainless plate and I will be upgrading to the 18V Fuel version of the same saw, but I doubt I will be needing that one at sea, LOL!

    Teal, Linh, & Emma. I love what you've done with your cat thus far. But Id like to see the before pics of what she looked like prior to refitting the salon and other interior spaces. Was she dark wood everywhere and you just painted over or did you have to glass, fair and then paint? Thank you. Enjoy your channel.

    • @OnboardLifestyle
      @OnboardLifestyle  6 років тому

      We are in the process of producing 6 more before and after videos that we will launch over the next couple of months. The boat is synthetic with very little wood in her bones...mostly honeycomb composites and high density foams. We use some wood on interior projects but always overlay with glass cloth and epoxy. If you watch our video series you will see that we strip each room to the bare hull before starting over. Check out episode 21 for our first before and after video of our galley.

    Great video as always! Why were all the cables too short? The boat get longer? 🤣
    Also, will you put any caulking between the two halves of the throttle controls or is there some type of seal?

    • @OnboardLifestyle
      @OnboardLifestyle  6 років тому +4

      Since the cables were last engaged (8 years ago) I have built walls, bulkheads, chases, cabinetry, seating, and relocated the control unit. I added large conduit throughout to accommodate the control cables knowing all along that they would have to be lengthened. The manufacturer did not recommend sealing between the two halves so maintenance/inspection is easily done. I am not to worried because it will be located in a weather tight area within our new cockpit enclosure that will be installed in the near future.

    Just noticed your propane tank, where is that in proximity to the living qtrs? Gas seeks the lowest point and if you have a leak could be devastating. Forget about the exploding aspect, but it will push out all the oxygen in a cabin and asphyxiate anyone in it if it goes undetected.
    You have been methodical in everything you do, ams sure you have already figured this out. Just pointing it out just in case. Love the videos, keep em coming!
