What an example. Very humble. True greatness. It’s easy to let your head get to you in a match of that magnitude. Nothing but respect. DT is one of the best to ever step on the mat. Proved that here.
@@Jg_nation I know I mean Snyder did beat him but I know it's because everyone says that tank was going up in weight and wasn't used to the weight class etc etc which makes sense so no doubt. So I guess you never know I mean no one is unbeatable and everybody is human at the end of the day...
Anyone attempting to cheapen Taylor's win because it went to criteria needs to cease & desist. These guys are the best of the best and close wins/losses are inherent at this level.
I was watching a reaction video. The last minute I kept saying "JB is dangerous in the last 30 sec" Sure enough that last 30 sec had me on the edge of my seat.
Not saying that DT wouldn't have wanted to win by more (In this interview he's clearly disappointed in his lack of offense) but there are people acting like winning by criteria is essentially a tie. No, this is a win. Taylor wrestled knowing that he would win if he gave up a certain number of step-outs. If criteria wasn't a thing he would have wrestled differently towards the end of the match. This is a close win, but still a win. I personally don't like the criteria rules either but wrestlers work to win under the rules they are given.
It wasn’t a huge win difference I didn’t see the match but 4-4 I woulda thought better from both of them But don’t think I’m hating both are amazing wrestlers
Agreed, pretty week from both, especially disappointed in Taylor. If he would have wrestled as aggressively as he did in the world's against Yaz, etc. He would have teched him. Not a slight against JB, Taylor was huge and looked scared.
I have a lot of respect for Taylor and his humble nature. Honestly I don't think too many people are going to be beating him anytime soon, the only reason he lost last year was cuz he got hurt freakishly so in a way as much as JB was the favorite I had a sneaking suspicion that Taylor was going to win. In my opinion I think if the tank was still at 86 kg that Taylor would probably beat him potentially at this point in his career. I mean he took apart yazdani and sharifov--2 olympic champions...
So, JB gives up 40 lbs and 4" in height, as well as being 2 yrs DTs elder and has much more mileage on the body, but we really gonna pay deep attention to a 4-4 tie, a criteria based decision and state its a defining win? Great job, DT... , but remember it was more than likely your weight difference since he sent both you and Dake running and packing from the 74kg division. Edit update: and JB was clearly injured during the match. Save your alternative facts.
@@yo2stix true, however my comment never stated it wasn't a win; but not definitive as compared to the whoopings JB dishes out when both DT and KD were actually at 163. Either way I stand by my entire original and factual statement.
Seven pounds was the difference in weight at the weigh-in. JB weighed in at 181, and Taylor weighed in at 188. JB called out Taylor, who said that basically there are weight classes for a reason. A win is a win. Taylor won. Get over it. Taylor is a world champion at an Olympic weight, having won the 2018 World Championships at 86kg. JB is an Olympic gold medalist and 5-time world champion. That said, his last world championship was in 2017.
Not sure where the "40 lbs" figure came from, or the "whoopings" he handed out to Taylor before. The wins against Taylor back in the day were mostly by one point. In only one match did JB unleash a huge can of whoop-ass to the tune of a HUGE 6-2. No one is disputing that JB was better then or that his legacy is in jeopardy. Yes, Taylor has a size advantage now, but a win is a win. In the second round Taylor knew exactly what he had to do to end up on top. If criteria wasn't a thing he would have handled it differently.
@@OneCraZyWhoDat Oh for sure without a doubt - I just felt like JB didn't have his usual outside edge game at all. I don't want to take anything away from Taylor or make any excuses for JB - I just felt like he was mouth breathing almost immediately.
