man hes a amazing person. im from stillwater i used to wrestle in a wrestling club with his sons. one day at a tournament at lunch he sat by me and my family and talked. huge for my confidence and ill always hold it. cool mem great guy i was not good by any means lmao
Smith says when talking about Jordan Burroughs,"99% of the talent that he has is because all of the hard work." Totally disagree with that statement. The elements to attribute to such greatness, or any success are genetics, mind-set, family support, and coaching/program support. Genetics or general athletic ability is the largest component, but as an active coach he does not want to send that message to his wrestlers, so he says it is all about hard work.
I didn't agree with it either. You look at elite athletes, even when they were young they were exceptional. Hard work pays off yes, but, different sport but I've golfed my whole life, and tiger wood would beat me as an 8 year old. He was consistenly in the 70s. At age 12 he was shooting in the 60s. I shoot low/mid 80s. Anyhow, genetics is a large part. My bro tech falled Yiani D's dad in high school, aliah. I couldn't, we put in the same work. His dad wasn't Yiani D either.
Wrooong He talks about this on his podcast His parents weren’t athletes and he was never athletic until he devoted his life to wrestling. Mind set is an aspect of hard work as well, so really coaching is all he really had. Coaching and hard work. He could have done it if he had someone else’s body and someone else’s life because he’s that kind of a worker
@@lawsonransom8318 unverifiable? HE DIRECTLY stated that his parents weren’t athletes and he wasn’t athletic until he began dedicating his life to wrestling
@@lawsonransom8318 to be genetically destined for success is not true in any sport. No one gets to a high level without being a hard worker. In fact, often times you see less physical specimen become great on account of their work ethic. There’s many of athletes better than Michael Jordan but no one could ball like him because of his mind. Having an exceptional mind that makes you want to work hard and study the sport means more than athletic talent, no one said EVERYONE could be an Olympian what I said is that you could put Burroughs brain in another persons body and he’d still be a 5x world champ due to his brain. His family had nothing to do with it, the support they can offer is next to nothing. His genes have nothing to do with it, he’s a fast mitherfucker but other than that he’s usually weaker than his opponents and still manages to win. His coaching is important but you can’t possibly think they’re teaching him anything different than had he went to another high school, college, and so forth. The only thing stopping Burroughs from being just another person is mentality

I feel similarly although Jordan can sway me to believe he’s the best. His career is not over yet. As of now yes John Smith.

Favorite coach outside the Big Ten anywhere from 1-3 in all devisions.
Love how he gave him props on being hard working. I think a lot of people see black dudes and just say god given genetics

That hat is dope AF.

Bruh, you should’ve said black people got strong genes instead
