I really don't think that some people in Country Music truly appreciate how talented these ladies are collectively. Their music is raw, genuine, sassy and can make you feel a story as if it were your own. Some of the best damn songwriting to date.
Their honesty has a way of speaking what it's truly like being a woman, good, bad and ugly....heartache, love, conflict, sadness, and the innate ability to express one's faults all while embracing them at the same time.

The songs are light and not too demanding . . . These days, artists pack an album with songs because individual streams count toward the sales total. I came from hearing Best Years of My Life debut on Fallon last night: ua-cam.com/video/-vO2FmnFKT8/v-deo.html having missed the beginning of the song, and I was surprised I had caught most of the song, and there just wasn't much to it, but pleasing none the same! Never heard of the Pistols until last night.
I normally do not like country, at all. Haven't liked it for over 40 years. But I enjoy PIstol Annies. They make good music. To me it doesn't matter that it will be classified as country. They just make good music. These ladies have so much talent that a rock head like myself will voluntarily listen to their music. I don't agree with another poster that thought their songs are light and not demanding. They tackle some sensitive subjects with good lyrics and lovely vocals.

I agree. Been following Ashley Monroe since she came out with Satisfied when she was about 16. We are the same age and I can relate to her in a lot of ways. Her voice is so beautiful and her songwriting is genuine and heartfelt. I'm happy she's starting to be more recognized.
