Having a car is definitely more convenient but riding the colectivo added to the experience of living like a local.

Bus 1 is Avenida Timon and bus 2 is Zetina Gasca on la colonia side to get to the port side. Where do you catch the collectivo on the port side to go to la colonia? Thank you.

The Colectivo only runs on the main road between Cancun and Tulum, right?
It doesn't go from the Puerto Morelos colonial side to the beach side. Is that correct?

The Colectivo is local in Puerto Morelos. It doesn’t go to other towns.

You need pesos. I got mine from my bank in the US before going to Mexico. They will give change, just don’t pay with a $500.

Catching Route 2 on the Colonia side is around every 20-30 minutes. Catching Route 1 on the square on port side about every10 minutes.
