Just bought my first classic at 16, it's 1966 international travelette with the bg-265 and 4 on the floor with 4x4. Retired military too. You have a gorgeous truck though!
My dad had one when I was a kid. What a beast. First truck I ever drove. Had a scout my brother gave me after high school, lived in it one summer. Wish I still had it. Lots of fun.
I want a classic international pickup as my first vehicle. Any thoughts on an international pickup, that I could find for 10 grand and under? 1960s-70s? Or maybe something like a scout?
Greetings from Canada. You have a beautiful truck , I just got a international c1500 but I can't find to much information about the truck . I know that have the 264 engine and it's standard. Do you have any more information about it? Thanks
Trouble with mine is the speedo is not calibrated properly, but I'd estimate top speed of my truck at 60 mph or a bit more. Gear ratio is more designed for low-speed torque.
@@glenwunderlich2438 The 130/1300/1310 series one ton 4x4 trucks had 2 ratios where the RA15 (Timken F35) rear axle matched the FA52 (Dana 70) front axle. Those were 6.17, and 4.88. If your truck is VERY slow, you have the 6.17 ratios.

I've been giving some thought about converting the IH to a more user-friendly vehicle. Some of that old technology just isn't up to par anymore.
The old IHC makes it look easy! Nice truck.

Ebay Motors usually has a fair amount of them for sale. If nothing else, you should be able to learn relative values.
There is also an International forum where vehicles are for sale. A good place to learn about them, too.

I have a 66 with 13,000 miles , no rust. Do you think $5,500 was a good deal
Sounds fair in today's market. Can't get much these days for that money. Have some fun with it and put it to work and don't look back.

It's either a 1966 with a 1965 grill or it's a 1965 if the grill is original to the truck. Title may read "1966" if it is a 1965 sold in 1966.

What about the 1965 grill? have you replaced the '66 grill with a '65? What's the "BG" stand for?
That grill was on it when I bought it. Don't know what BG stands for, but that's what it is.
Looks like the same grill that's on other '66 Internationals on UA-cam.
