Thank you. Most videos that I quickly passed up we're up to 10 minutes long. One guy spent his whole intro talking about his trip. It's almost as bad as the life stories you get when you try to read a recipe. Thank you for getting to the point. I purchased my first RV and it has a dometic fridge that is missing the slider and so with your video I realized I could just use any kind of clip and clip the sensor to the location that I wanted.
So, I had no idea why my reefer was freezing, and I've been part time/full time boondocking for 20 years. I had no clue what that plastic gizmo was. Thank God I didn't throw the thing away! Thanks for the vid!
Holy crap. Thank you thank you 😊. Everything in my fridge has been freezing the past 3 seasons and was ready to get a new fridge. The probe was never connected when we bought our RV so I had no idea. I connected it and now my fridge has already gone up 2 degrees.
That’s for sharing. Sure enough, first time out the fridge wasn’t getting cold. The dumb sensor had fallen out of the holder just like yours. Thanks for the tip with the wire tie!
In reading the manual, it shows to leave the tip of the thermistor just barely poking out of the top of the clip, rather than embedded lower down in the clip. I suppose thats so you can tell where the top of the thermistor (where the sensor reads from) is positioned so that you can best tell how cold or warm your fridge is set, as opposed to having the thermistor hidden by the clip itself. I suppose if the fridge is cold enough tho, wherever it is, is fine.
Our Dometic has buttons on the front to adjust the coldness, but it's never gotten cold enough. We just watched this and looked in, and we do have that clip with the probe too! It was down at the bottom. We moved it up and are hopeful it helps the refrig & freeze get colder.
The Dometic refrigerator in my 2003 Casita has a fuse for the refrigerator, marked well on the fuse panel. Start there if you are getting nothing (no lights at all) on your control panel. If you accidentally spray water into the outside vent area, which you are warned not to do, you might blow that fuse.
I'm not mistaken, the probe is supposed to just peek out of the top of the sleeve that goes on the fin, and not the bottom.. The question is, how much of the thermistor is supposed to peek out of the sleeve?
Okay! Youre the 1st out of 5 videos that showed what I was looking for... Yay! But I dont have that end piece on my wire? My wire is covered in white plastic like yours, but the top is black. Is THAT part of my temp problem?

Thank you so much for this video. Short, to the point and an excellent solution!!!

Awesome, easy fix!
I knew that the sensor was moving but hadn't tried to fix it.
Now I can actually regulate the temperature.
Excellent
thank you ! I didn't even know i had a probe....applied your fix. Thanks again!

Yeah thank you for the vid and for your time.
Cheers from Vancouver Canada
nice job I appreciate your insight. Keep up the good work like you do

You're my best friend.
Nice video no fluff

Is the probe not meant to be on the FIFTH fin from the right side not on the end??????
A piece aluminum tape at bottom of thermostat works well.

Thank you so much.
Somebody in research and development at Dometic just smacked their hand on their forehead.
Is up colder or is down colder?

Damn. Mine doesn't have a probe lol
Too bad you put the thermistor in the wrong place
Where do you think it should go? Higher than the top of the plastic slider?
I thought it was suppose to slide in that clip, probe covered it gets colder... Probe sticking out it gets warmer. 🤔
