I made this arrangement after having enjoyed the original version with Astor Piazzolla and his "crying" accordion for many years. I am always moved when I hear his music: so intense, so emotional, so... so... well, I lost words for it. ❤ His sound cannot be transcribed to a single guitar but the melodies can. So I tried even if there are many great arrangements out there already. I hope you like my version.

Which emotions are in here? Here's mine....regret, remorse, anguish, sadness, deep deep sadness, melancholy beauty, despair, pleading, hope destroyed. A magnificent piece of music, played with depth and colour. Wonderful.

Amazing interpretation of this classic Piazzolla piece. While no guitarist can match Piazzolla's passion when he played this piece on his Bandoneon; yours came the closest.
Thanks John. You are absolutely right: Listening to Piazzolla's Bondoneon makes me wanna cry. No one can come close to that. I did my best though.

I know the original and I think you did a tremendous job on this one amigo, how I've always enjoyed the compositions of Astor Piazzolla and his virtuoso playing projecting the Argentinian Tango, I can't imagine persons giving this a thumbs down, I know "taste" is never objective but this is quality arranging and playing with fantastic dynamics, greetings Vic.

I listen to your music throughout my day. It creates images and snippets of poems in my head, like the bouquet. I'm glad you like that thought. I will write these down and hopefully share them soon.
I feel the same as you about music. It can be balm to the soul and heal so much; reconcile loved ones, strangers and enemies. We just press on and hope that the music ripples out with waves of love and beauty. And perhaps stop at least one war.

I love this piece and have listened to it many times performed by cellist Stjepan Hauser. I feel a lonely soul in a huge city somewhere on the top floor of a skyscraper. I've never heard this piece by guitar. It sounds very different to accordion and cello, and so interesting to listen to. Your performance has more hope, Piazzolla"s and Hauser's more tragic. On my opinion of course. Anyway, so touching and deep. Thank you.

PLEASE tell me how I could learn your version of Oblivion? I would absolutely love to play this beautiful interpretation for myself. much respect.
it is in g - as most guitarversions are. just look at his fingers and work it out bar by bar. the old fashioned way ;-) or go get one of the other versions on youtube and start learning. then compare the differences and adjust. for a piece of this calibre the work will pay out. there is no easier way here i guess.....
Oblivion Fingerstyle Guitar Tutorial by plucky picky seems to be a good starting point. i want to learn it too,! heard it today in the berlin u-bahn beautifully performed by a young guitarist...
