Australia Road Trip

We recently embarked on a 16-day road trip across Australia , covering approximately 5000 kms and it was nothing short of a breathtaking adventure! We touched down in Melbourne, initially thinking it was just another bustling city. But as we ventured in and around Melbourne, we were stunned by its beauty. The journey started with a visit to the iconic Twelve Apostles, where time seemed to stand still. The towering limestone stacks along the rugged coastline were magnificent, leaving us in awe of nature’s work. Our next stop was Phillip Island, where Inaaya had her first real taste of Australia’s incredible wildlife. She was completely awestruck! From feeding kangaroos to cuddling koalas and watching penguins waddle ashore at sunset, her joy was palpable-she was on cloud nine.
As we continued our journey, we were off to our next big destination: Sydney. The drive along the Great Ocean Road was simply beyond words. With the breathtaking ocean views, cliffs, and serene beaches, every mile felt like a painting coming to life. On our way to Sydney, we made a couple of remarkable stops. Eden, a quaint whale-watching town, gave us the chance to pause and enjoy nature’s wonder. Then came Jervis Bay, often hailed as the “Maldives of Australia,” with its powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters-pure paradise.
Arriving in Sydney, we took in the grandeur of the city. From the iconic Sydney Opera House to the Harbour Bridge, Sydney dazzled us with its landmarks. Yet again, the road beckoned, and we continued our journey to Newcastle. Along the way, we explored several untouched national parks, hidden waterfalls, and pristine beaches. It was as if we were in the heart of nature, far from the rush of city life.
One of the highlights was checking off a major item from our bucket list: sand-boarding in the desert. Inaaya was beyond excited as she zoomed down the dunes, laughing all the way. Next up was Surfers Paradise in Gold Coast, which absolutely lived up to its name. The vibe there was electric! We explored so many theme parks, and Inaaya’s excitement was unmatched. Whether it was the thrill of the roller coasters or the joy of meeting her favorite animals, she was living her best life.
Our final destination was Brisbane, a vibrant city with so much to offer. We marvelled at its man-made beaches and scenic lookout points, taking in the bustling city atmosphere. As a family, it was a year-end trip we’ll never forget. For Inaaya, the adventure was wild-from feeding kangaroos, petting snakes and lizards, sand-boarding, to riding high-speed roller coasters. It was clear by the end of the trip that we’ve got an adventure junkie on our hands!
