This new leaning bug is legitimately the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced in this game. It also doesn't help that it messes with so many different aspects of the game. It changes how you see things, but it also changes how your model looks to allies and enemies, meaning that it can potentially be abused for "leaning" around corners or for seeing over cover without actually having your head's model poking over the cover. Luckily, I haven't noticed anyone particularly attempting to abuse this, especially since you can't see how your model looks yourself, but its basically impossible to tell if someone's slanted model has affected your time to recognize an enemy or affected your aim because they aren't at the same height as they should be. Theres also the issue that it doesn't 'appear' to be slanted until you stop moving and look around. I've been taking 10 steps away from sundies (to get outside of the cloak, because it's hard to notice inside of it) then doing a full 360 degree turn to see if my vision flicks when I move again....you have to do this every single time you spawn at a new sundie and it's fucking frustrating that people are sometimes locking their sundies from randoms making it impossible to break the glitch.
Agree with the "less content" idea, even though at first glance it sounds bad. Any content patch should be followed by several weeks (or even a couple months) of balance/bugfix patches before the next content hits. Lettings bugs and bad balance pile up is not good for the health of the game. Also agree they should bring back the auto-kick feature with more optimized stat thresholds. ManUSucks has been ruining emerald quite often lately, surely it's easy to compare those stats to anyone else and see how far beyond a normal human they actually are. 100% with you on Oshur as well. I hope they take this chance to really experiment with new gameplay elements, or expand upon ideas that are already in the game. The fights at Shattered Warpgate were awesome when it first launched, and I hope they can capture that feeling again with more free-form battles on Oshur. I'd love to see the next iteration of bases like Lowland Trading Post on Indar. 3 capture points with pre-made buildings and other cover objects, but no hard spawns or any other items that would be in a standard lattice base. It would be up to the players, both attackers AND defenders, to provide and protect their own spawn logistics.
Anti-Infantry MAXes and Vehicles need an urgent look into. Imo vehicles need more objectives other than farming the infantry, while MAXes might as well be remade from the infantry-sized vehicle they are today into mechanised-heavy infantry that can still be used as a force multiplier, but stay much closer to regular infantry in terms of power.
Id like to see a faction specific class like how NSO have their own version of maxs. I know it sounds stupid to add another class but I think differentation/ asymmetrical factions is what makes planetside unique. I do understand it would be hard to come up with another class considering existing classes cover almost all battlefield roles
I actually want the devs to bring in more faction specific stuff like vehicles and weapons since i doubt any futuristic army would only have one type of tank and then share another with the rest of its rivals. I know its hard to come up with new ideas like this but i mean it would be fun. Why is the TRAP-M1 a thing???
Very true, faction specific stuff is great, just hard to balance. What matters hen it comes to adding new weapons vehicles or abilities is that its balanced correctly so as to avoid a "one step forward, two steps backward" situation.
Hey man! The sound glitch needs fixed. Nothing like going on a tear only to not hear guns anymore. Having to exit out just to come back in for the issue to happen minutes later is not keeping members in. I will no longer be supporting game through my membership because of this issue and many others. For example, the sideways lean and cheaters..etc. Again, love the content and haven't found a video I haven't liked yet. Enjoyed our tradeoff yesterday in Planetside. Cheer!
Haha I totally forgot about the sound one since I've literally lived with it for so long. It always happens on the best play sessions too since it's when I'm on for over 3.5 hours. Great fighting see ya on the battlefield.
Excellent suggestions, this is a good conversation to have. I have a running list of QOL improvements, but the devs seem so absent on the forums so I never bothered posting it, and I'm sure it would get lost on Reddit.
although I have been playing since December 2013 I am not really qualified to comment really, mainly because I am very much a lone wolf and rarely get involved in team play I agree, however, with sorting out the current leaning bug and the Flying MAX thing has been quite bad, although I found I could mitigate that slightly by only fighting against the faction opposite of the hacker faction I am not so bothered about new weapons personally... I think there are plenty enough weapons available now one thing for sure, though, I would definitely miss Planetside 2 if it went bust and no other game comes close for me and my limited skills
Haha no otherwise I'd probably fire myself. I mean hypothetically speaking these are the things I'd want if I both played and owned Planetside 2. A pretty impossible scenario but a mindset I imagine would benefit the game.
Better explanations of things, a viewer suggested a command for searching terms that pulls up a wiki page which I thought could be cool. Also better setting player expectations (ie expect to die and feel garbage at first), have the things people die to not be so cheap or ridiculous (getting headshot from a lagging invisible guy from hundreds of meters away is NOT good game design).
I still like the game but i haven't renewed my membership, I just can't in good conscience give money to this project when entire evenings can be ruined by hackers or malfunctioning servers.
in my opinion, the first person view of the weapon animations dont look good, especially the pistols, it puts me off, greatly. it would be nice to redo the animations to make them look badass.
To my knowledge they've had a tough time hiring anyone skilled enough and who wasn't busy with huge swaths of the game development to have time to address the older animations to clean them up but I agree some of them are just lazy. Would be nice to see what all the different current and new team members do.
@@ApolloPS2 I'm going to try and TLDR it as best as i can, but I assume the company either leases server space or at a minimum they probably have their own servers and lease server space in EU, Asia etc. I CANNOT stress enough how much servers actually cost ( look up in your local area how much it costs to rent a single server rack or buy one, cut the cost down to roughly well say a generous 10% cost of that price for lease a month multiply that by 50 servers which is ridiculously low for a videogame to give you an idea of cost) it's hard to know exactly what type of server planetside is running because there is different types of hardware in servers that put them on a sort of tier system. When a company says we are "upgrading our servers" they are upgrading both hardware and software to be able to be able to handle data, the hardware upgrade goes in hand with what type of complex software upgrade is able to be done about things like latency, stutter etc Okay so what does this mean exactly, depending on what tier of server you are using quite honestly you may just be fucked, there is only so much you can do, only AAA companies can afford the latest and greatest and most games get by fine with older server models, the difference between these games and planetside is size. PS2 generates an ungodly amount of data that whatever servers they are using I imagine are great because the game is all things considered; stable. For the size of the team and the cost of servers which I frankly would not be surprised if it was near the $100,000 to $500,000 range to bid on server space, then pay a percentage amount for lease or if they want to make their own additional servers but companies like daybreak 9/10 lease most of their server space. All this has just touched on cost, they need very specific servers as well to handle the massive amount of data that is going on. TLDR of the TLDR: while gamers meme all the time about "getting more servers" tech companies that own servers know they have a monopoly and you would be shocked at how business is conducted in dealing with server issues. It is why if you pay attention and think on any game you have played why getting more or upgrading servers is one of the last things companies will do, because it is very expensive and technically challenging
@@CoyoTWil3 thanks for taking the time to explain. Very enlightening. I'd be interested to learn if planetside being a only several servers per continental actual "server" impacts the cost compared to lobby shooter servers where u may have many more but simpler ones.
1:35 more subscriptions? Anything backing that up or you just thinking? 4:20 decreasing? Again actually something you can back this up or just thinking? Fisu tells a different story Battleye not working? They prevent basic injection or stuff like cheat enginem without it it would be way worse. It's like saying seatbelt are useless because in 2 accidents the people still died. Other topics are spot on and can only agree
For subs I don't have access to that data but bug fixes tend to have people commenting on how they are restarting their subscriptions and the opposite effect when they aren't addressed for months (think c4 desync bug etc) Player pop for other factions that hackers r on does decrease when they r on for well over an hour. It's much more muted overall across all servers but I still feel it's important to address for servers being affected. There's a comment here of someone saying they even just go to fight against the other faction as well. Thanks for the questions :)
Do you have a discord? I have a whole word document for ideas for planetside
discord.gg/BBW5PBrJ hell yeah drop in my planetside-general channel :)

Yes, we need more “only in planetside” moments. That’s how this game got its base. It’s how it will excel from it

Great video, happy to see more content creators growing & uploading more frequently!
Love the VKTZ platoons, keep it up.

You'd be surprised how much attention a well thought out reddit post can get. Maybe not from the devs but they do read those.

well i tried that as well when he was on tr once but he came to the vs/nc fight and he murdered us all for more then 2 hours trough a whole alert
@@kobaltotto3252 yes, that is unfortunate :-(
Sorry for the question but what do you mean with half player half owner? You own a bit of the company who's running planetside?

Hey, what do you think is the best way they can make ps2 more new player friendly. A lot of people leave because of that.

I don't think you understand how servers work at all.....
I don't! Please teach me and others so I can better revise my ideas 🙏
