Life too short for long UA-cam videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below.
We. Are. Not. Worthy.
We had the great pleasure of meeting, nay… EXPERIENCING the great Gearmanndude at GuitCon 2017. In this video we get a little background from Eric (the human name he uses by day) on how he got into all this UA-cam shizzazzle and some insight on his time in Tenacious D. Er, maybe.
Dan actually gets him to say ‘Hellooooo’ and ‘White coily cable’ whereupon the only way forward is for him to demo the Keeley D&M Drive, complete with Phil X’s signature guitar. What more could this video possibly offer?
If you’re not familiar with the phenomenon that is Gearmanndude, please check him out at / @gearmanndude
GuitCon is a fantastic event organised by the awesome Henning Pauly - / eytschpi42 - and the lovely people of Warwick & Framus in Germany -www.warwickbass.com/en/Home.html
We are indebted to them for their Herculean efforts in pulling this event together… and indeed in inviting us. May it be successful for decades to come!

Gearmandude was the very first gear demo guy I ever tuned in to. Love him. Grateful for his humor, talent, and introduction to the wide world of GAS...
Yeah he was one of my first too..... There was also Brett Kingman, Pro Guitar Shop & Fretted Americana....
What about Rip Glitter. Old school harmony central reviews. :)
Gearmanndude is the original legend! I vote in favor of another episode where Dan builds him a pedalboard.
Gearmandude is a blast in this video. I'm glad his face is cut out and keeping up the persona here. FANTASTIC.
This is not the greatest review in the world, its just a tribute :P
Ben Fentem Nice
For years i read " German Dude " and i was like: " Well, that's a german with good english"
He's funnier than Jack Black
Pete Thorn KILLED that intro 😂
Max Carton you mean t(h)orn that intro?
Tee-hee
Good one ;)
Yeah he really did. But I couldn't work out if he was looking at me, or Dan & Mick...
Jamie Clarke savage
GearManDude was firing on all cylinders in this interview. Thank you for posting it.
Lawrence Gillespie it was awesome!
The boots of destiny
I saw him wear boots like these once and had to have them, until I found out they were well over a grand i.pinimg.com/originals/58/10/94/581094dc378106b1f9814f64170e95a6.jpg
I don't think Gearmanndude sounds like Jack Black. I think Jack Black sounds like Gearmanndude.
and they both sound like Christian Slater
My sincere respect to Gearmandude - he really started something :-)
Brilliant! Well worth the wait fellas. Such fun
So Good. Sooo Good Thank you so much. There is genuine joy here and for all of us watching. And Phil X!!
My mind is blown. I know this guy. He runs the Guitar Emporium in Louisville. I've been going there for a few years and have bought and sold a few guitars through him.
I had no idea he was the very guy I grew up watching all of his videos until now. He's such a good dude.
YES! Jack Black is finally on my favorite show!
It's so awesome to know him and that he's my local gear dealer! lml
Gearmandude is responsible to turning me on to Blackstone Appliance's MOSFET Overdrive (aka the BAMO). THANK YOU Gearmandude!! Dan and Mick: time to check it out!!! He's one of our great originals.
One of the true stars of UA-cam
One of the best things about watching that pedal show videos is seeing Dan’s hearty laughs!
The camera cuts have me LMFAO!!!!
+gearmanndude hahahah! You rock!!!
+gearmanndude Duuude! I’m glad somebody noticed. (Mick here). Thanks for doing this, hope all is great with you!
If this guy and Greg Koch joined forces, the world would piss itself.
Gabriel Moreira Dude! how do we make that happen? Dan, Mick?
Wildwood guitars must employ this fine gentleman and create the best guitar duo in the history of youtube.
The funniest episode on TPS to date! HILARIOUS! Btw, I've seen several demos of the D & M drive and this one actually makes me want to buy it. Cheers!
UA-cam celebrities are way cooler than cable and hollywood
Great vid!! You guys looked like you had a great time!! ‘Sometimes you’ve got to squeeze! Sometimes you’ve got to say please...’
Absolutely amazing interview :) Cheers!
That was awesome. GMD, Dan, Mick ... you all rock.
Absolutely hilarious! And quite informative too. Its all about the ‘A’ chord \m/
Gearmanndude should learn Tenacious D songs to mess with people's heads.
All the Guitcon reviews, demos and interviews are great...but this one takes the cake! Thanks guys! You've given me hope for humanities sake! Music is Therapy...Love it, Learn it, Live it!
The dude has an amazing ear for what works in the context of playing style, which is awesome
Never heard of him before but he is a riot! Definitely gotta check him out!
Really fun interview. Love gearmandude as he was the reason I bought my keeley modded TS9 at a time when few people knew Robert Keeley’s name in the UK.
This is the best video! Love the Gearman Dude!
This is one of the funniest videos i've seen, SOOOO cool guys!
This was so hilarious. Love these guys!
Watched this man's demos for months before subscribing was a thing. Didn't realize he was one of the godfather's. Glad to see he's blown up
That was a great fun! Loved it!
Awesome video guys. The ONE & ONLY......
His was the first demo video I ever saw and saved me from buying crap pedals.
You need to demo the Luther Drive now :)
Gearmanndude is the king, love his show. Of course the boots are the best.
Only seen the dude's videos in passing, maybe watched a couple over the years. Until now it didn't really click for me that he's been at it for so long. Funny, too! seeing Dan crack up is an absolute delight.
I love GearmanDude so very much! Cheers guys!!
Tuesday video is BACK! I needed this today.
You guys continue to amaze me!! You remain so fresh, accessible and just down to earth....not to mention I've learned something new every week for the last 3 years!!! Peace from the States☮️
+Drew Mello ah, that’s awesome Drew, thanks so much :)
Annnnnd...... point proven!! Cheers guys ;-)
Hadn’t heard of him before, but hell this was a great video. Thanks for introducing him guys!
🤘👍🏿 I miss gearmandude so much
Great belly laughs of fire!! That was stupid good! Humor and music... best things in the world!!
What I always like about GMD is that he is one of the few honest reviewers out there - he never shies away from saying when something isn't quite right or just downright garbage.
Loved it, guys.
Gearmandude - the godfather of all pedal review shows.
Gearmsndude rocks. I loved his demos because they are true to sound yes mids are a must. Pedal show also rocks.
Yes!!!!!!!! GuitCon has made so many awesome things happen in the pedal demo world. I'm psyched to see everyone is cool with each other. Y'all got to get together with Andy Martin now, what a legend that guy is in pedal demos. Seriously that guy could sell a green cardboard box with hand drawn knobs to at least a few 1000 people.
The voice behind the man behind the music in front of the mic to the side of the screen...
Funniest episode yet. This had me rolling
No white coily cables :(
That’s the first thing I️ thought of when the vid first started... GMD=White Coily Cable
Ha, my thoughts exactly!
this was great !!!
Holy fack one of the funniest interviews I have watched lol
Great interview
king bee tele, dr z maz 18, white coily cable, snake skin shoes. this gearmandude guy brought me to fun world
Well that was just GREAT.
This pedal sounds great. Review Suggestion: BYOC Crown Jewel. I just picked one up prebuilt and it is "Amaaazing!" It has an incredible amount of options and it sounds great.
That was great!!
Gearmanndude rules!! I remember a review about the Homebrew Electronics "Full Metal Jacket" bacK in 2009, I thought wow!! that hard overdrive sound is great! I went online and bought the thing. And it truly is good the pedal, but then you watch more videos and realise that Gearmanndude just make them sound better! I don't care if he uses just a couple of chords on his demos, he just NAILS THE SOUND!! I also watch most of the videos from Dan and Mick, great demos guys!! THANKS!!
This guy is so freaking funny, made my day :)
there aren't enough thumbs in the universe to thumbs up this video. so fun. thanks
Best show ever.
this is gold!
I was totally convinced for so long this was Jack Black. Not only the voice but the tenacious personality and sense of humor. You rock Gear Man. You and Jack Black totally need to connect and shoot a video.
He is the Al Pacino of pedal demos!
This made my day.
Awesome dudes!!!! I always thought it was Jack Devine thru a voice box.... P.
VIVACIOUS G! Great video, guys. Tom Quayle nailed it.
He is just a legend. I would that that everyone has got at least one pedal from a GMD review.
Best intro EVER!
HEY DAN! great interview in guitarist magazine!............now get that HUDSON SIDE CAR!!!
Ahhh, dem fine lookin' snakeskin boot--and Gearmanndude!
Another great TPS episode! In my opinion he sounds more like Christian Slater to me. I saw him years ago at a guitar store in Louisville KY and I'm pretty sure he let me play an early 1970's lefty telecaster.
Hey Dan & Mick, I was looking around on the interwebs and couldn't find any comparisons of Bitcrusher pedals. I know they're quite boutique but would love to hear a comparison of a few, especially for their noise levels. Keep up the great work! And thanks for doing an episode with THE Jack Black of gear reviewers, I had completely forgotten about his channel!
I just peaked at the video, and I anticipate that this may be the best Pedal Show ever. Well, it started out strong and it has Gearmandude. Alas no coily cable :(
Coily cable needs it's own channel GMD
Hilarious!! Loved it.
GMD brings an entirely different element to the pedal demo. Personality! Very cool.
now i want to see Tenacious D on TPS
This is awesome! I thought I was the only one who loves JackBlack/GearmanDude.
Hahaha So good!!! Love it!
Damn, the D&M sounded great here boyzzz!
AMAAAAAZIIING! :D
That was fun.
Now i only wish i could afford that Phil X Framus.
Great vid guys. GMD playing Journey was a highlight. Do I replace my SD-1w with the D&M drive?
So, the key to see Gearmanndude face its achieving 100k subscribers! NIce XD!!! HELLOOOOOUUU HAHAHAHA!!!
So, I was a little queasy about buying the Boss GE-7 (equalizer) pedal from a junkie.
But then I saw the guys use it, and I’m sold!
Yeh GMD definitely a reference as are you two whipper snappers, with all the videos you’ve all done we know how YOU all sound and can relate that to the product, the one thing with GMD is he is not shy in making a pedal sound bad, where as a lot of demos only show the positives.
Long may it all last.
Amazing, I was expecting to see his face at last.
Ballsack the destroyer BWAHAHAHAHA. This video is gold
This is easily the best and most important TPS of all time.
The legend
Killer guitar!
Wow, very cool
Very entertaining :)
I love a good boot demo.
Awesome awesome awesome vid!! 😂😂😂
