Hi, I'm the author of the underwater picture you've picked on the video :) Just to put on perspective about the things that did ring a bell to you .. and that would make waaay more sense to you after the explanation : This is a 12 years old shooting and this was more of a "b-roll" of the shooting in a "day after" session. It was taken with a crappy camera a fiend lend me, as I don't own a sub case that would have allowed me to shoot in good conditions (it was a 14 years old cool pix with a 3sec latency on shutter and a shity dynamic range). As the theme of the contest was "the most exciting shoot" that's why I selected this one because it was a nice and fun moment to do this session. We allowed ourselves to do this because we did an urbex session just before (it was a request from them as they were passionate about urbex) I don't do much wedding pictures, not even once a year max, so it's really when people come to me specifically that I do one. Anyway, thanks for you feedbacks :)
Seems like Lee just answered his own question in the video with his parents album of wedding photos. Dont need to "do anything" with them. Wedding photos are for two people, an archive of memories for the couple. Need to take the photographer hat off, and see it as just a collection of memories. All wedding photos aren't taken for printing, and social media. Its for themselves.
The negative space of Patrick's photo and flower pedals looks like litter to me. The bride looks bigger than the groom and it looks like they're about to bone. Which is fine, but it's really really passionate pose (probably one the most passionate dips I've ever seen). As opposed to the "stiffer" one, it's like those wedding kiss pictures that are full on french kiss. Which is a common thing in France, Italy, and the other Romantic countries. While the WASP and puritanical is the second image. I think it's a strong picture than Patrick's. Patrick's doesn't look like a wedding or a planned event to me. Almost like an iPhone photo.
Why on earth did the picture of the old couple’s hands make it into the critique when you asked for exciting shots? I agree it’s a great shot but should never have been picked based on the critique criteria.
So all the good photos you guys hate? Weird. And all the meh photos you love for some technical aspect? Bring back coronavirus journal. Best podcast ever.
Lol, 2010 cars and 2020 cars? Yeah, they look totally different! And the mom jeans have come back since then. And jeasn for men have gotten even more skinny-ish. And the short jeans with ankles showing is way more prevelant now.
Patrick and Lee, such an honor to see an image of mine in the critique!!! Patrick, I can't wait to deliver to you all of It!
It's great to hear about your experience as wedding photographers. I think it would be interesting to see the portfolio of Patrick and Lee.

Congrats Patrick!
Thanks! -P
Totally agree with the points Lee made in the rant!
How about a film-photo critique?
I prefer the shot with Paula. It makes me feel something.
Sounds like you were describing Del-sol photography, at 1:36
I legit thought the underwater photo was two dudes but now I’m not sure?

If that’s true why spend thousands of dollars and do ridiculous over the top posed photos?
@@FStoppers Because they can.

1:02:38 4 stars?! That looks like a bad green screen job to me. Flash is waaay to bright.
Get a shot of the guy without the mask and graft it into the photo.
