Survivor Series 96, I was 12 years old, this was my first experience with pro wrestling. WHAT A TIME!!! I feel sorry for the kids these days. They will never know the enjoyment of waiting to see RAW or Nitro. Of course I'd watch one and record it on tape (VHS), my friend would record the other, and we would swap tapes the next day at school. So many good memories listening to all these podcasts. Keep up the good work Con!
Aren't you forgetting another key piece in the birth of Austin 3:16 (was unaware that it happened in my backyard so to speak, graduating twice in the same building), that if it was also if Triple H didn't get caught up in the Curtain Call, Austin would not have won because Triple H was supposed to win KOTR in 96. But DO so cover MORE WWF shows with Tony. I enjoy hearing his perspective and opinion about the company he was competing with.
This was a great show. It is the most under rated ppv in history. It did a great job of bringing back fans who fell out during the 93-96 time period. Sid became the man even though Shawn was acting like his shit didnt sick during this period. That is why it became Sid vs Shawn instead of Vader vs Shawn as first planned.
To me Tony doesn't get into the wwf ones like he does wcw whw's. Granted he was there and gets more excited but thats what I enjoy. When he calls matches like he used to is my favorite.
I agree with Tony though about the fans sitting on their hands. I think it's a combination of things. You had time to get behind the story, care, watch the match unfold and you get caught up in it. I tried watching stuff in 2019, it felt so choreographed, the selling was basic at best. They almost didn't sell because they had to get into the next spot to perform the next move.
Furnas was definitely stronger than Bulldog. Meltzer told a story about how Bulldog would parade around the locker room, flexing his biceps and boasting that he was the strongest guy in the company, whilst the REAL strongest guy in the company was sat quietly in the corner watching and lacing up his boots. Furnas was probably one of the four strongest men ever to step into a pro wrestling ring, along with Mark Henry, Bill Kazmaier and Ken Patera. Powerful as he was, I doubt Davey Boy made the top 20.
Austin's run after WCW in ecw and WWE was epic. His promos in ecw and the Austin 316 and the promo against perfect and hitman were so good IMO. Then this match showed me he was ready for the top of the card
WHW and 83 Weeks are sleeping material compared to Tony. Does Tony have any Jimmy Valiant stories he looked nuts. thank Conrad for dragging tony out of coma for almost 2 decades
It's funny you said mankind second to none in character commitment so to speak as he's wresting the person who he is probably actually second to haha in those regards.
Souled Out 97 was a very cool very hip concept - a heel pay-per-view home and away venues - business-wise probably not smart but don't forget get Vinnie boy ripped it off later in the year with DX.
Love how Conrad just throws out how he's been friends with Tony Kahn for a long time, all nonchalant like.... Yeah, been friends with a billionaire for a while, no big whoop.
According to Jim Cornette, Shawn Michaels was horrible to Jose Lothario backstage when the cameras weren't rolling as this was during his bad attitude years.
No disrespect to Tony , but this was a wwf show so Conrad should,ve done this episode of WHW with Tony about Starracade 96 and then on Friday does the 96 Survivor Series with Bruce
I've been to both Madison Square Garden and the Cobb County Civic Center. I'll take the Civic Center any day over the Garden. Too many rude people and traffic
@Mike The Scott: It's called an opinion. We all have a right to an opinion. I think Jake is a shitty person. That's my opinion. Maybe you should get your facts check about how great of a person Jake is!
I love how Conrad slides past (quickly I might add) Shawn losing his smile. No chance to blow Shawn, quickly move on!. Any other wrestler came up with a baloney excuse like that and Conrad would shit all over him. But not Conrads boytoy. Bret clearly was better than Shawn. The reason for that was Bret made the matches, he also made his opponent look amazing. Taker credits Bret for making him look unstoppable (even when losing). Shawn was paired with excellent workers but was only out for himself. That's why Bret was better.
I think WHW has become my favorite of the three podcasts.
without question
Yes Tony is back thank God.
Sid's entrance from this ppv is one of the best of all time.
Mankind s outro music is so underrated. Great psychology and tune itself. Used to be my ringtone. It's like funeral service music...so cool!
I personally love these shows where Tony watches ECW or WWF shows that hes seeing for the first time
Me too, plus it might increase the lifespan of the show significantly
He's such a fan. Makes me feel bad for Nitro era Tony.

I agree. I use to love summer time when I could just watch Raw and then stay up and watch the Nitro replay.
10:15 , enjoy lois... and the start.
I love it when Tony laughs. It cheers me up no end.🤣
I don't dislike the Bruce podcast, not even close but this one will always be my favorite and most entertaining. So easy to listen to
Tony: Do you know what my motivation is every week?
Conrad: To not get butt fucked whenever you leave the house? 😂😂😂
Tony will never live that down.
Light blue! Is this a reference to Michael wearing the light blue suit w Gordon Solid back in the day
It's awesome to hear Tony talk about a WWF PPV
Tony telling conrad he’s going to get divorce and married dusty daughter next.the best. I wish I could have seen conrad face

Tony was spot on with him sayin gronk was gonna be at the next wrestlemania when this episode was made in 2019

The MJF rant made my day. His parents don't even like him hahahaha
FINALLY you guys brought up bowlcut, Vladmir / Blackwhite dude, Faith no more guy, and stern lookalike. Lol. Rich guys in the 90’s 😱🤗😂😂😂😂

What is the tampon spot?
As a Cobb county born man I feel like he shit on the Cobb county civic center. I seen many great matches there as a kid

Traditional survivor series matches were always hit or miss to me
I have a big fat Orange tomcat and no shit his name is Terry "BamBam" Gordy. We just call him Bam.
Why is there not a shirt that says 'You cant fake hepatitis' yet?!

The irony is that pork chop around the young MJF's neck-Conman and Ton Loc would've eaten it.

His ECW promos where he pretended to be Hogan was hilarious
@Zanatos9 and the one where he impersonated Bischoff was hilarious
Lol he is a Mankind mark. Up there with Austin?
Marty janetty heel work in this match is just so so. He def better babyface
Yea some guys are so used to working one way it’s almost impossible to see them working heel. Marty is one of those, same with Steamboat, Tito, JYD.
Bret Hart #1
Hope u guys do a live show in Phoenix
Could you talk about whipper Billy Watson
WHW and 83 Weeks are sleeping material compared to Tony. Does Tony have any Jimmy Valiant stories he looked nuts. thank Conrad for dragging tony out of coma for almost 2 decades
Prichard and ATM Eric are conmen, frauds and liars, as proven by pioneer and legend Dave Meltzer.
This is WHW!?!🙄
@Michael J You mean STW with Bruce Prichard
Meltzer mark with that dumb shit again
@@maineventmafia7181 you're a clueless asshole. If anyone's a mark, it's you

Owen Hart is the best wrestler in the first match and that s saying alot...long live the king of hearts

Lawler is as good if not a better worker than flair
Love how Conrad just throws out how he's been friends with Tony Kahn for a long time, all nonchalant like.... Yeah, been friends with a billionaire for a while, no big whoop.
Lounging around in the billionaire's pool drinking margaritas, jaw jacking on the phone with Ric Flair? What a life!
And by the way I'm married to Ric Flair's daughter. #wooooo
He gives hope to all the fat boys from Alabama.🤣
@@rickjames2.0 how about Clemson lol
@@danieltilson4912 Yeah he got mad quick when Tony brought that up.🤣

That tampon spot makes me hungry...
"Que Paso Quando" (WHW)
I would love to see Tony and conrad in AEW
No disrespect to Tony , but this was a wwf show so Conrad should,ve done this episode of WHW with Tony about Starracade 96 and then on Friday does the 96 Survivor Series with Bruce
@Slim Daddy
Aha . If this is the case it,s ok
They've done ECW and WWF ppv before. They do things that Tony missed
Slim Daddy. I think Bruce would just crap all over anything any other company put out. Great idea tho. It would make it interesting.
I've been to both Madison Square Garden and the Cobb County Civic Center. I'll take the Civic Center any day over the Garden. Too many rude people and traffic
all right tony
I think most people think Jake the Snake is a piece....

Mark
Was Mark callous in WCW back in the day

The Nas tribute caught me by surprise , thats my favourite rapper tho
Mike The Scott you sound irked lol
Santiago Ramiro ah interesting
Mike The Scott “i don’t care but I commented anyway hur hur “ 😂
Mike The Scott it really is. Something you’re struggling with 😄
No one cares.
Why do you not have a .......... good night guys and hulk hogan can go to hell tshirt ???
That’s what Tony said when Hogan went heel at bash at the beach 96
Stone cold or the rock is the best wrestler ever(promo, in ring ability, and most def money). It's not just in ring. And overselling is overrated!!!
😁😁😁😁😁😀😊😊

conrad is kinda the man
This was a boring episode. Conrad just running his mouth, explaining angles to Tony and name dropping people he knows.
In your opinion. In mine it was great :-)
3210 # Touche.
I’d rather have that than Conrad playing comedian and trying to do impressions
