Good morning Thom. Hope all is well …. Always thought about this method and how I missed this video for so long is beyond me 😳😳…. Anyways was just wandering if I was doing this method in running water could you also reverse the rig as shown in your video !!! So the weight is on the short line and the jig / lure is at the end ( in the flow ) ….. you’ve probably done it before but I’m not even half as good as you so asking the expert …. If you could give any advice it would be much appreciated … all the best and thankyou 😄😄👍👍🎣🎣
Yes if you reverse it it’s called a Kickback rig if you wanted to Google that. Typically it’s a bit longer though at 6”-18” drop to weight and 2.5-5ft leader to the bait
To be honest I don’t really use drop shot much in the summer, as I prefer faster methods in warm water like crank baits and chatterbaits. However for the times I do use DS in the summer I’d go with a regular (hook directly on the line) rig 👍🏻
Finally a simple way to tie a dropshot rig! Thank you Thom! Tried it today, no bites!
Enjoyed that bud, very informative, I'll be giving it ago !
Thanks for answering my earlier question by showing this video. It was much appreciated.

@@Thomhuntfishing thankyou so much for your reply thom and I will check it out ……. Cheers again buddy and all the best 😄👍🎣
Hi Thom,
What size hooks do you use when drop shotting?
Cheers
Depends on the size of the bait… smallest I use is about an 8 or 10, biggest about a 2. A size 6 is a good allrounder 👍🏻
Would you still use a dropshot hook with this variant of the drop shot? Or a regular hook?
Do you also use this rig in summer of use the normal dropshotrig in summer?

Clever 👍
