Kids these days claiming that one must have the most "modern" camera with all the bells and whistles when they can't even or don't use the majority of them. Try going back to the 110 days (google it if you're younger than 40)! The 850 is fantastic camera, so it doesn't shoot in 4k 60fps. Unless you're a pro, do you even need it? That's the question isn't it? Do you actually need all the bells and whistles? a 45mp sensor with 7fps may not give you what you want for serious action shots (speed that is), but for the vast majority of users, it's a beast! I shoot with a D500 and it's a killer camera. If anyone wants to hand me a 850, I won't say no, but I won't go buy one unless I need to.
Thanks for the review. I got the D850 when they first came out in UK. I have never changed it and don't think I will, its a fantastic camera, even by todays standards. No regrets there. I don't really do video apart from timelapse and mainly use it for landscape and astro, so its cool for me!

I second this - have my D700 since 2009 and did a whole lot of professional work with it - weedings, company events, food photography etc. etc.. The thing is, that only other photographers ever complain about cameras being too old. The average client doesn't even recognize it if I had to crop a 12 Megapixel image of the D700 - which I regularly did. My photos have been in print media of all sorts - and for me everything came down to the dynamic range and the capability to shoot in low light. My D700 'can shoot in a coal mine with available light only' I often used to say. The used D850 body I bought only just recently has yet to prove that it is that good for my kind of photography. And what is only rarely mentioned ... the material and build quality has obviously decreased from the D700 to the D850. You simply feel it, even when only pressing the knobs. I would not be surprised if the D700 still works after the D850 failed on me in a couple of years of heavy use.

Somewhat of a nitpick on my part. From Nikon USA site "When using the optional BL-5 battery chamber cover connected to the EN-EL18b/EN-EL18a, and inserted into a MB-D18 Multi Battery Power Pack, you may achieve up to 9 fps continuous shooting with the D850.
