@@PrettyUglyR6 I can play the whole song but I altered some of the shifting lol It's fairly easy to play but wayyyyy harder to actually perfect if you get what I mean... memorization for this song is super easy cause it's a lot of the same patterns (it took my two weekends to memorize) but it's the shifting that's harder to memorize but good luck and best wishes from me :D

That is lovely but alas I cannot get even one note out of the violin it is not an instrument to be self taught in like the guitar banjo uke piano etc it has to be the most difficult instrument to learn to play

Thanks, Rose! I have a 17th century small Italian instrument and change string brands often. Those strings were likely Obligtos.

Thank you a lot for this tutorial !! I just have a question : when I play in 3rd position or in any position (except for the first position), I really struggle getting a good sound but I don’t know why :(
It’s a « windy » sound, I don’t know how to explain it well (English is not my native language so it’s even more difficult to explain 😭), but it’s not a « warm » sound, and I don’t know how to make my sound good in these positions :(
(On the E string it’s okay, but on the other no)

Try tilting the bow more, add pressure, and closer to the bridge. Too much hair, too close to the fingerboard gets the "windy" sound.

@@violinlab okay thank you ! I’m not English so I’m not sure but when you say « tilting the bow », it means that the hairs of the bow should not all be laid flat on the strings?
