    For the newest version of AE, you can go into the "edit" tab and find the split layer option, which also gives you the short cut if needed.

    Love it. How do you split the lower third down the middle?

  • @MadDoggGames
    @MadDoggGames 8 років тому

    Thank you so much for this. This was pretty simple to do. The only problem is that I am stuck at the part where it fade out. You said something about split, but exactly how do I do that. I didnt see you click a button.

    I animated mine, but the animation played backwards!! After 3 tries, I STILL didn't get it right! Any advice??

    • @jaywelch7519
      @jaywelch7519 8 років тому

      If you changed the values at the end of the movement its going to draw inwards. You must change them at the start of the graphics motion for it to move forward.

    Just an FYI to those watching, I've got the updated version and to duplicate is no longer (control V) but (command D).

    Hey man thank you for all your tutorials :D
    I was hoping you could do a tutorial on how to make the text do a "Old TV Wave" effect
    I was searching on UA-cam for an hour or so and could find one. Also, I'm definitely subscribing and telling other designers I know about you!

    I'm not sure what I"m doing wrong. But After the last step where you change the constrain proportions and show how it plays, my retangles are going inwards instead of outward. What am I doing different?

    Beginner here and must admit you confused me even more. It would help if you explained what you were doing and maybe adding a name and actual description to separate the two. Other than that, the animation was cool.

    Sorry,. Borderline tutorial,. Telling us to input numbers and drag points to places without explanation is not a tutorial,. It is basically,. "Copy what I and doing" tutorial. I will examine what you did and figure out why,. but thanks,.

    •  10 років тому

      TheLivingDeadOne That is a good point, but I've talked about those things in the previous tutorials of the series. I try to explain as much as possible, but I think that there is no need for repeating basic things because the tutorials would become boring. Things like shape size are pretty self-explanatory. :)
