This was one of the best interviews I'd ever seen him do! Her life story was so intense to hear about. But in some surprising ways also pretty relatable to me because of all the different traumas I've been through, just... trauma is trauma. Thanks for preserving it for us.
Im also viet and i think the peer dynamic can be quite terrible. I've also struggled with low self esteem and feeling ugly which is kind of a weird thing to be insecure about now that im tryping it out. But if i had to guess, its a result of peer trauma and the way I was treated by my older siblings and cousins. I also regrettably treated my younger siblings the same way, however we have always had a very close relationship since we were young and being their older brother, I've learnt to take responsibility for making sure they're confident and happy with themselves. This is something ive struggled with for a long time however I have made strides in recent years and am continuing to learn and grow especially thanks to Dr.K.
I've never seen Dr. K actually struggle to come up with a response the way he did when she said she forgives people who don't deserve it so she can move on instead of letting them live in her head rent free
