It's always good to watch a video that reminds me why I dropped Microsoft products and moved to Chrome OS for a laptop and linux for a desktop! BTW the £7.99 per month was the family subscription price (6 people) whereas the £5-99 was for the personal subscription. Also even if you'd paid for a subscription I don't think that you would have noticed much difference using Office online - the benefits of the the subscription in terms of enhanced features only becomes apparent on your local Windows device where the full version of office is installed, rather than in the cloud. I've never really got on with OneDrive - It seemed to reset my preferences occasionally, so that files I wanted to keep local also ended up in the cloud. When I uploaded a large file from my linux box I could see it in OneDrive but then when I tried to look at it from an old windows machine it wasn't there. It popped up about 5 minutes later so where was it being held in the meantime? And of course it's very slow compared with GDrive.

How do we use it without being connected to the internet?

Hello Sir, some of the shortcuts of excel cannot be applied on the chromebook so if we use an external keyboard, it will be the same as a laptop where we can put any shortcut and perform well.

Is there any way to download free ver. of ms word on Acer cb311? I can't download ms word from play store, that's why I'm currently using the website version but I'm having trouble breaking the pages in ms word. That's my only issue.

I don't think there is. You're better off using Google Docs. What is it that word offers that Google Docs can't? If you can't answer that, then just use Google Docs.

@@ChromeComputingTV I definitely think there is nothing that Word can do that google docs can't. But I had my mother make a resume for me from work as she is a secretary. She did a very nice job but when i went to save it from my email so that i could send it out for job applications i was unable to.

I moved away from Microsoft Office 5 years ago, as I did not use all the features in the programs.

Yes, I used to use MS Office a lot, but never took real advantage of everything it had to offer.

It's not that it's not great but it's that it's absolutely crappy.

It's gotten much better since recording this video. It's now Microsoft 365. I've attached a video showing how it works.
