Had the game won
I never felt comfortable. Tennessee had no problem drilling base hits all over the park. Their bullpen is deeper and FSU does not have the talent in the pitching staff to beat a top SEC squad like the Vols
Ross was out of position 3 times
This is not the first time this year he's done this, he's done it at Clemson, turns the wrong way, going to get a ball, and his legs get all tangled up. Should've stuck with the starter.
The walk off was hit opposite field. If they’re playing the pull that’s on the pitcher missing his spot
@jaretkidd412 Ross was way to shallow as all 3 balls he charged ib on before retreating in a full sprint. He should've been removed after the first botch cost us 2 runs. Gave up 4 runs on two balls over his head and almost messed another.
And had not seen a true fly ball all game! Not a good time to play Defense stat ball

How about a reporter have the sack to ask “ why didn’t you leave Whitt in there, did he not deserve the chance to secure that win with as shaky as the pen has been” and follow up with any reason as to why you didn’t walk the big lefty to put a force at any base?
Reporters don't have "sacks" any more...afraid of losing access...I have been saying for years
Just a college baseball fan here…one helluva game and I could still see FSU make a run given how that offense looks really is going to depend on the pitching depth
FSU played great Tenn is good. Ump behind the plate was horrible.

I thought he called the game consistent for both sides. His strike zone was really tight but this is the world series. Entertaining game and it could've went either way.

@@jamesb0255 Well you obviously have never played baseball. The strike zone was closer to an mlb than college zone. That's just facts doesn't mean i thought he called a good game.
Once you reach Omaha, there is no margin for error. Clearly, like Coach said, we did not play a clean game. (Tennessee didn't either for that matter). But, we knew going into this thing that our bullpen was our weak link. Give the Vols credit, they outplayed us there st the end, (with the help of some shoddy umpiring, and some our own defensive miscues). We need to forget about this game and focus on UVA. GO NOLES!!!
If the center fielder catches the ball this game is over. BLAME Your Center fielder. Catch the ball, that usually works.
Are you talking about toward the end of the game?When he crashed in the wall and didn't catch the ball? If you are. You are the perfect example of why everybody doesn't need to be on the internet. I'm a tennessee fan and florida state played their ass off. That was an amazing college baseball team between two of the best teams in the country.
@@jasonejoness77 Yes I am referring to play where the FSU center fielder MISSED then ball then stumbled into the wall. He MISSED the ball, had he known his place on the field instead of doing the Hokey Pokey and turning himself around he Should have caught that ball. As a UT fan you saw how Hunter, KT and Dylan all caught the ball hit the wall and made the play. So Jason, you can go back to your room, get your Legos out and stay off the internet until your Mama lets you out of your room.

Its hindsight, but I felt pulling whitaker was the wrong move. Not a fan of bringing guys cold into a situation like that. Gotta trust Whit! That said... proud of these guys and Link.. they are at the top in the nation after such a short turnaround!
I’ve been saying it all year our pitching and defense has been bad at the end of games. We choked and I knew it was coming
Not pulling a starting pitcher is the reason Martin never won a NC.

This Tennessee Team is just really hard to put away. Noles played a good game, and we didn’t. That’s the scary part. Go Vols!

@@thomascoker7703 Tennessee gave it up with the wort pitching of the year through the first 6 innings. We had 3 errors to y’all’s 2. We didn’t help ourselves out any. But at the end of the day we had more hits than yall. Tennessee explodes in clutch time. They’ve held the number 1 spot for a reason. FSU played good, just not good enough…..

As a Florida State fan, stark reminder of why FSU has never won a CWS title. Throughout the 2000’s, FSU pitching suffered. Apparently, Link has yet to learn that lesson, because it happened again last night. The only good thing that happened with losing, sorry, giving away the game in the bottom of the 9th is, we didn’t go into extra innings and completely destroy our bullpen for Game 2. I hate seeing this. FSU fought hard and just folded when it was most important. I hope they find the will and a way and are not sent home early… Despite errors or strikes that could have, should have been called, teams that win the CWS know pitching depth is key.
Jesus man. He had one of the greatest turnarounds in college baseball history. It's only his second year at the helm at Florida State and you want to crucify the guy.
We were playing with house money coming into this thing. In regards to pitching he has done an amazing job in regards to the injury to Leiter.
Link is widely considered to be one of the best coaches in baseball.

Definitely playing w house money. 2nd year coach and he’s already in Omaha after inheriting a bad team. FSU is back in baseball

The bat literally crossed home plate 😂. The ump didn't want to be in the position to have to decide the game. But it was a horrific blunder.
@@eddieyoung8629 if your center filter could catch a flyball that check swing never would’ve happened. Perhaps your coaching staff could spend time on catching flyballs put the blind where the blind lays your center filter miss the ball. Get yourself a centerfielder that can catch a fly Ball.

Ahh it’s the bullpen. We all know it. Is what it is. Hults has no business pitching. He throws nothing but Lolly pop curveballs and everyone watching knows that. Tibbs also didn’t show up again. It’s baseball get over it. Link is our coach couldn’t get a better one. Just gotta get arms
Fsu played good just didnt win good luck vols go noles
Over the first 5 innings the vols gave fsu about 5 unearned runs making errors in the fields and our pitchers plunking about 3 fsu batters. Each time vols messed up the noles ended up scoring runs.
Just seems like fate. Fsu can get there but just can’t seem to get the breaks to get it done.
Noles made mistakes, too. Don't make it out like it was just the Vols.

Unfortunately for FSU fans the Coach put a 2 Star Centerfielder out there running around doing the hokey Pokey and turning himself around and missing the ball. Had your two star mega athlete fielded the ball prior to hitting the ground FSU would’ve won that game. So mikie, go back to your room and get your Legos out and keep working on your critical thinking skills and your mama will let you out of your room when she thinks perhaps you’re ready.
