Max Blumenthal one of the best journalist. He presents his views and information very logically. I subscribed this channel when I first heard his interview. You should have him to have his intake on the world events every day.

Hello. My name is Janice Kortkamp and I just returned from my sixth research trip to Syria since May 2016. I am 100% independent and self-funded btw with no affiliations of any kind. In addition to spending months on the ground traveling around the country - much of that time on my own with various Syrian friends a guides - I have spent over 7000 hours researching the country and conflict over the past six years. Thanks you guys for sharing so much of the truth here. It's greatly appreciated. Blumenthal makes several important points and I felt a particular sense of justice when he talked about Clarissa Ward's grotesque assertion that Syrians consider the terrorist "rebels" their heroes. I can assure you and anyone watching that the vast majority of Syrians of all faith and people groups do not. Thanks also for mentioning in detail the sad and abysmal support for the war against Syria by Democracy Now. I'm sure that was hard for you to do. The mention of the many Syrian ex-pats and their support for the US/allies war against Syria is a huge factor and one rarely touched on. Kudos for that! Of course as you said, it's not across the board. I was hosted by the Syrian American Forum to speak to their group and guests and was pleased to be honored by them for my help to the Syrian people in their fight against terrorism. I have some small issues I would like to mention. 1) It is the Syrian government, the legitimate government of the sovereign and independent nation state of Syria. Calling it 'the regime' in fact reinforces imperial narratives. While everyone in Syria wants reforms (other than corrupted officials and war profiteers that is) including President Assad, the president and first lady have wide spectrum support and for good reasons. While far from perfect, Syria is in fact, an amazing country still and the people I know there are the finest human beings I've had the privilege of becoming friends with. 2) It is NOT a 'civil war' but a manufactured rebellion that the US and allies began to foment in the mid 2000s. This is easily proven by government documents, officials statements, various media reports etc. 3) It sure would be nice to hear something from you regarding the work of independent journalists like Vanessa Beeley for example whose work on the White Helmets is exemplary, Eva Bartlett also. And citizen-reporters who have gone to Syria in search of truth after seeing the consistently biased and inaccurate narratives vomited up by our main stream media including previously respected outlets like BBC, the Guardian, New York Times etc. that matched neither reality on the ground nor could stand up to any rational application of logic and common sense. So, as someone who has 'been in the trenches' you might say, well done.

Believe _nothing,_ even on trusted alt-media channels. The Kurds are only 25-40% of the ethnically-mixed Syrian Democratic Forces trying to take the IS capital Raqqa, so Max's "ethnic cleansing by Kurds" (in pt.1) is ridiculous. Kurds are now being attacked by Turkish forces apparently by agreement with all sides, even though Kurds have cooperated with Syria & Russia and successfully defended Northern Syria from ISIL since the beginning of the war (when Assad's forces left them to defend themselves & US was arming the other side). Unless they receive a lot of public support, It seems more likely the Kurds will be the ones 'cleansed'.

    • @kuroneko3585
      @kuroneko3585 7 років тому +2

Eli Gregory The US heavily supports Kurds in the Syria and protects them from Syrian goverment attacks. Kurds don't really fight against ISIS. They just try to cleanse the region from any other ethnic population so they can claim them for themselves later (with the help of the US). Kurds just fight for themselves. These kurds follow a seperatist agenda (like the ones in Northern Syria) which makes them dangereous for sovereign nations bordering the region. The US tries so hard to create a ''Kurdistan'' in these parts of the region (Iraq,Syria,Iran and Turkey) that it forces other nations to do something about it before it reaches a critical level as a problem. In short, the US makes the Kurds a ''target'' by helping to make their hands stronger for achieving their seperatist agenda. If Kurds continue like this, other nations will not stay silent and do something about their dreams of carving their nations.
Kurds will not be ''cleansed'' but the seperatist ones will be.

Billal has crossed the line of Journalism on several occasions.
He called for a Turkish invasion of Syria.
He seemed to back suicide bombing in Alleppo
He was uncritical of rebels beheading an injured 12 year old captive
Bilal didn't condemn rebels burning buses intended to save civilians from besieged town. He claimed it was unknown who did it even though the rebels released footage of themselves gloating.
In a gruesome incident, rebels lured children who were being evacuated from a town over to a car filled with snacks and blew them up Bilals only complaint was that his car was destroyed in the explosion. He asked for donations for a new one.

There is way too much talking about stuff we already know. The question is: what are you doing about it all? You can't stay in kindergarten forever.
How do we get from where we are today to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom?
i don't mean solutions. We already have gazillions of creative practical solutions that have not been implemented yet.
i mean how exactly do we get into a position where we have the capability to actually implement these solutions on a grand scale?
Please present your proposal. Spell it out: step 1, step 2, etc., and be as specific as you can.

Ever since at least 1980, We the People of planet Earth have had the capability of providing the highest quality of food, the highest quality of clothing, the highest quality of shelter, the highest quality of healthcare, and the highest quality of education for each and every man, woman and child on the face of the Earth, and to do it in such a way that was in Harmony with Nature.
We already have gazillions of creative practical solutions.
What we don’t have here in the USA is at least 80% of the progressive electorate (110 million citizens || there are no more than 14 million at the moment) who are well-informed, free of disinformation and misinformation, on all the major issues of today AND devoting their time, energy, talents and resources to make sure that only the most Loving and most Wise among us become our public servants.
Then and only then will we finally be in a position to transition to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom, with no need for government.
i am waking up and mentoring around 10 new uninformed/misinformed individuals every week. It's imperative that each and every one of us, without exception, does so too.
      Here is my proposal:
First the cities, then the states, then the nation and then the world.
Creating a Wonderful World. (let's get it done already).

excellent discussion! and it was about time someone apart from Shadowproof,RT, and Max Blumenthal of AlterNet called out Democracy Now, I know even though I'm not on twitter that Aaron has called out DN and I'm glad this was discussed on The Real News. Sadly Democracy Now and The Intercept not just on Syria but also on Russia conspiracy theories and other topics as of late has jumped the shark completely and with a heavy heart I've had to stop watching/reading them, and TYT I've had to unsubscribe from them, and AlterNet with the exception of the greyzone project has been bad with Russia conspiracy theories and reposting articles of Paul Krugman and Democratic reformists. anywho great discussion, its why The Real News is my daily dose of independent left news, and soo happy they had Rania Khalek on three times about Syria, so happy Max Blumenthal gave a shout out to her and The Real News should have Rania on when she's back from the Middle East along with Eva Bartlett and Vanessa Beeley to discuss what's really happening in Syria and how this cluster fuck happened. Keep up the good work Real News and thanks for helping to decolonize people's mind, not be an echo chamber for corrupt ngos and liberal interventionist donors and loser Democrats, and Max thanks for constantly being a social gadfly buzzing in the ears of corporate media and faux progressive hacks.
