Hey! Perfect timing! I just bought an NVR package with these cameras that was on sale. Good to know they've got the Bearded Seal of Approval (TM pending)!
This was VERY helpful not only for HA and was explaint excellently! Q: Did you ever measure the real power consumption of the cam? Want to run it with PV and battery on roof.
Thank you and I'm glad it helped. No, I haven't measured it - but it depends if the IR is on or LEDs. I will try to remember to do so in future - at that time, location where it was located didn't have ways to do that easily, but can do it now.
@@BeardedTinker Hi. As you mentioned, the LEDs are the power consumers. I did some measurements with a Shelly Plug S. Power consumption ist about 3,2W without LEDs, with Spotlight (100% brightness) about 9W. Hope that helps for these, who are planning to supply the cam with solar cells and a battery, like I do.
I've yet to find someone who's not happy with Reolink cameras and have switched from them. I switch this year to them from the crappy Google Nest cameras and what a difference to have local video as well as way higher resolution for picture quality.
How do you find the IR Night vision with the newer Reolink cameras? They have always had good colour / bright light clarity, but I know older Reolink camera's had pretty bad night vision.
Is it a battery powered camera? The specs mention a battery. Or USB plug in powered? What kind of home assistant power would be needed for say 5 of these? Would a pi run them or home assistant green?

They really do - one of my favourite companies as they just work!! Hope you'll be happy with it!
Thanks for the Video. HA and Reolink are the perfect Marriage. Tried to integrate all type of other brands, all had some issues glitches...
Thanks, this is a comprehensive review of the cameras and I was not aware of how well the Reolinks integrate with HA.
