They certainly were the good old days. Alveys are legendary and so were his fishing trips back then.; These days with the netting and bags limits imposed on fishers it will never happen again. Some think that they caused the demise of fishing with the bag of fish taken but it was a time when fish were plentiful and anglers were fewer than today. Modern technology and especially fishing aids have necessitated the current bag limits on all fish species. Also today there are a lot of non fishers who have never fished and don"t want you to catch fish. Not only is it a sport but therapy for many who go fishing regularly.. We eat the catchy we take home rather than buy from a shop where the product has come from overseas. We are not all vegetarians.
the good old days, when there was so many fish that 2 blokes could rock up to a 30 meter stretch of beach and catch 42 fish, half of which were breeding size females, and in 2 hours go home with enough fish to feed 60 people. this is exactly why fish stocks are so depleted in Australian waters. my grandfather had chest freezers chock full of fish that he couldn't possibly ever get around to eating. tragic.
Its nice to see this old trips.😉
Cool dudes
