hey buddy.....just throwing my 2 cents in....like you said if you let that chiller run for an hour or two before you start- say put it and the pump on a power strip with a timer and kick it off at 5am while your sleeping AND use a full 55 Gallon plastic barrel for your water reserve- I think youd be shittin in high cotton and could run the larger still maybe even no ice....

I keep seeing our cousins down south getting put behind bars trying to feed their families with white lightning. I never sell but just for friends and family. I know it can be dangerous but a little research and you will be good.
I freeze 8 1-gallon jugs and just throw one of those in every 30 minutes or so, then put the thawed one back in the freezer. Big blocks of ice last way longer than cubes.
I got a couple of 55gal plastic drums. Filled one with water and was going to transfer a full drum to an empty drum and cool it off. Turns out, all I needed was the one 55 gal drum. I only saw around 10 degree rise in water temp at the end. Didn't even need ice or anything.
@@thealembicdiary1814I'm not using a model. I filled 1- 55gal drum with water and put a cup or so of bleach in it to prevent growing. I have like 10-2l frozen in case, but never needed them. It takes a LONG time to heat up a 55gal drum of water.
I’ve used large reusable ice packs in the past to keep the condensing water cold for a 15 gallon run. Been looking for something like this. Now looking for something to cool a much larger run.

It looks like they have a 1/3 hp unit for $30 more. Would the larger size be worth the extra money?
You should try the chiller they use for laser engravers. There is no separate water pump.
You should try the grey one to the vevor and see how that goes...

Is it possible to unscrew those base fittings on the top of the chiller, and change them out? Looks like they had a hex head on them.
So your chill water heated up to 95 degrees? I don’t understand what you were trying to show with it at 95 degrees.
Hes showing the cheap one is 95 where as when he runs the other more expensive one at the end of run get to 105-110 and had to use ice .
Do you think if you would use ice in the begining of the run would the chiller be able to keep up and keep the water cooler through the run?
I have a 8 flute column still. Do ya think with 55 gallon water tanks and chiller would keep up? 16 gal boiler and a dephlegmater
