I don’t think James Bond is the codename - I think John Mason is the codename (hence why there would be little info on him) - and that every different Bond actor has their own parallel continuity and that James Bond is just a real name. Also: Even though actors like Desmond Llewelyn and Judi Dench would break this theory on the Bond side, as they starred alongside multiple Bond actors, they never reference the previous Bonds, they’re just the same actors playing different version of the same character in each individual continuity.
And about Bond's jamming on last action it is actually straight from the novels.(but novels are in different order where this dialog in "Dr.No" is reference to events in "From Russia...")
Dude don't listen to the guy who posted this video. They make it clear in the rock that John Mason is a fake name. It might not be a coincidence. It might be a way for Michael Bay to escape copyright infringement.
Always said that about The Rock, definitely a Bond movie, It would have been perfect if they said 1962 instead of 1963 as the year Mason was captured, as 62 was the year of Dr. No
It needs to be realised that Daniel Craig's films do not follow the lineage of the first 20 films - it is a hard reboot - arguably a bastardised take on the first 20 films
You only have to believe point 1 if you believe all Bonds are 1 007 timeline. You can also make this theory work by saying each Bond actor represents a divergence in the timeline. Given Craig Bond retcons so much of what came before, that's not a difficult assumption. Supporting divergent timelines is no recurring actor ever references something a previous Bond did. Each Bond is self-contained continuity. Save Lazenby's one movie. Which puts paid to the Codename theory, btw, since Teresa Bond's gravestone is shown in For Your Eyes Only. And CraigBond's parents are buried as Bond, complete with news story.
I'm guessing I'm searched with so specific keywords that UA-cam's shitty algorithm got confused and gave me a somewhat hidden result. And I'm really happy about that. Loved the video! I'mma subscribe because I'm a sucker for an underdog. I see lots of potential here! Also, I haven't watched other videos yet, but though the film rolling sound effect was really cool in setting the mood, it kinda drowned your voice in it. Not that I had a hard time hearing you, but I think it took some of the attention outta me in the beginning, although I got used to it about three minutes in and I actually blanked it out. Not a problem per se, just something that could improve the video: turn just a tad bit down the fx volume. Anyways, great content!
@@jamzarm oh hi! I'm actually stoked not only that you responded, but also with how fast you did it! I figured that you'd probably had noticed that by yourself prior to my comment, but I just felt like trying to help out (in the case you didn't) Hugs from Brazil (we are really touchy over here [imagine how much we're suffering without hugging our friends in this quarentine]), and I'm about to hop into other contents of yours! Are you sure that Mason is not James Bond? Everything seems to fit doesn't it. . . Even the film that Nick Cage finds at the end could be the film Bond was supposed to find after Diamonds but hid so the US wouldn't know he had found it. It did have the real person who killed JFK on it. . . Just sayin . . .
hmm not only is The Rock a James Bond love letter but Captain Marvel which is then tied with 17 - War of Alec Trevelyan & Goldeneye Satellite actually fits the 2 films perfectly 1 differential James Bond is essentially British Batman while Captain Marvel is the Wonder Woman before She Hulk claimed it.
If he's a Navy Commander, he could swim the waters off Alcatraz.

What if bond is in fact his real name and John Mason is a code name🤔
That's what I'm going with

Ahhh another whom has read at least a few of the novels.
Felix would know his true identity and get him out of prison, he probably was there in a boat to pick him up.
Rather than a code name could each Bond not be from parallel universes?

This is great. Would love to see more movie breakdown videos

Here’s a great video to watch showing how The Rock really is a James Bond film.

Nice one! Wish I thought of some of those points!

Thanks! Yeah, rewatched this one a while back and thought the teletype sound should have been a bit lower...

I know what you mean in dr no, it was in the novels over his berreta .25, which is why they give him a walther ppk in I believe 38 auto.
It’s definitely a Bond film.

Never mind, I see you have
you are wrong with one thing 'never say never again' is not licensed Bond movie.
It had the license to make a bond film
It may not have been licensed.... but it had a license to kill
It was a licensed adaptation of the book Thunderball. Just not part of the main film canon
Holy shit what is the incessant sound in the background. It’s so distracting
Newsroom teletype sound, thought it was cool but probably should have left it out.
