The addition of the spooky music was a nice touch. The northeast looks really nice! You made me laugh when you said you didn't have a place to buy meat in your neighborhood. Hopefully soon!

The dynamite looks delicious, though I wonder if Rhode Islanders would recognize it after the additions of jardiniere and peppery adjvar. I’d eat it though. The coffee milk seems like how you’d doctor a child’s milk with the addition of “grownup” coffee to encourage him to drink his milk.
Thanks for a fun introduction to a state where I’ve never been.

i agree with all these assessments. in certain situations i may have some sensitivity to modifying historic recipes but in this case i feel like my modifications were so tailor made to this recipe it had to be done. also the almost total absence of information on this sandwich made it fair game. thanks for watching!

Did you ever locate the habanero? Or did you end up eating a super dynamite the next day??

lol I found it. it did not add as much heat as I hoped. I did stab it with a knife on all sides. it was still an awesome recipe.

Hey Eric…I love the peppers in this sandwich. I think the beer is definitely the way to go with the habaneros. I would not like the coffee milk though… I don’t even like milk in my coffee 😁 this is an awesome trip to RI for a Dynamite sandwich! 😊

the dynamite blew my mind. I will definitely make again. it really is just a sloppy Joe which has been improved and amplified. and yes coffee milk was underwhelming and I also drink my coffee straight up with zero additives. then again I hate milk so it was going to be a hard sell for sure. thanks for watching Gail!

Another banger man. I can’t believe you had to make the Dynamite. R.I. failed you. I’d love to try my hand at a dynamite. Maybe change up the heat ingredients a bit. I wanted to mention sometimes I don’t get around to commenting right away but rest assured I am the first to watch 8am Saturday mornings. I have lately typically been watching through the living room tv not logged in while eating breakfast. Narragansett has a great chocolate stout, been years since I had it though. Cheers brother! 🍺

i wanted it to have fairly extreme heat, that habanero was wack, should have just chopped it and thrown the whole thing in. a sandwich called the 'dynamite' needs to be aggressively spicy. you should make one and shoot it! your filipino spagetti video was awesome and i still think about that.
and i have had other people also tell me the same thing regarding watching on a tv. and i have gone through it also, even just to give a like is all kind of sorcery with the remote. so i get it - and i thank you for circling back to leave a comment! thank you!

The hallway near your room had to smell amazing and probably confuse other guests as to what the hell is going on. With those ingredients, i could put that dynamite on a dirty towel and it would taste fantastic. Super weird there are specific dynamite buns. How would you compare them to a standard hot dog bun?

    • @onesixfive
      @onesixfive  10 місяців тому

the buns were unique. they were not split and you have to cut them. also they are dusted with corn meal on the bottom. they had a quality more like something fresh baked than a supermarket product. I ate two for this video. you can see there is a bite missing when I went to taste, because I forgot to hit record the first time. I never do that and I was so mad. and yes extended stay hotels always have some really odd smells in the hallway. this was an amazing recipe and I look forward to making it again, both because it’s good and because it will remind me of this trip. needs way more heat though. thanks so much for watching!

Wow, so much to break down in this one! I know too well how this channel works. As soon as your journey began to find the "Dynamite," I kept saying, "He's going to end up cooking something." And sure enough lol.
So basically, it is just Sloppy Joe in a Hoagie lol? Obviously, just kidding there, I trust Dad, but I really do appreciate the choice of bun. Growing up, family get togethers often featured Sloppy Joe, including Jewel branded hamburger buns lol. I get it. It's cheap. Grocery prices keep me up at night. But whether Sloppy Joe or Dynamite your bun needs to hold some meat! I grew up with those generic buns as I'm sure most of Chicago kids did, but you can barely hold any Sloppy Joe. Half will probably fall out when you pick it up. And you'll end up with a 75% to 25% bun to meat ratio if the bun even stays together. And you'll fill up with the carbs in the bun.
Iced milk was my jam back when I was younger. Coffee never so much. This just seems weird. If you're going to add some syrup material into milk may as just toss in some Hershey's in my opinion lol.

yes it is true, i did not have plans to make a video for my initial idea to just go to new york lunch and eat the sandwich. but even just cooking a batch of dynamite i would not make a video, i have to have some kind of angle to it that would be difficult to replicate. once i saw i could get all the ingredients at lil general stores (i went to a third one as well, plus another grocery store also in woonsocket) i determined this would be a unique take on this. getting the items at a small chain of stores which is not only limited to rhode island, but more specifically to woonsocket got me excited. im sure there are 500 videos of people making this in their home kitchens and i have no interest to compete with them.
to my a dynamite is a sloppy joe but with more items (peppers specifically are necessary) and also something to make it spicy. i am so excited i found the rolls, once i saw those i knew 'ok, i am definately making a video now'. i wonder how many younger people in woonsocket have seen or even eaten those rolls but have no idea what the name means. what a cool piece of history.
coffee milk is a rhode island thing which i have long been aware of. i figured id be able to get the autocrat syrup at lil general and they all had it, so i had to make that happen.
      thanks for watching!
