Excellent videos - thanks so much for sharing in a straightforward way. No fluff is much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
i am planning to buy FM3. After watching your tutorials i am pretty sure. Thank u soo much for your effort. Love from India. Keep doing such great stuff. Also make some of the best presets that you have made for your clients and some tips for great tones as well.
You're very welcome. Enjoy!
it would be great if you presented all these functions in a practical way while playing live. For me it would be more vivid and quicker to understand, a practical approach also through the device itself on stage.
Great tutorial, video quality of the fm3 edit screen is a bit blurry
Thank You!
You're welcome!
Rosh, can you go into what you would call a good set up.. like for us beginners.. like a good budget set of monitors to use(if there is a thing lol)
I would say a good decent pair of studio monitors are the KRK rokit 4s. They're affordable and sound decent for the price. You just have to learn their EQ curve and your room (they have a little more bass) if you plan to translate the tones in another environment like live.
Maybe this pedal is way over my head but can anyone please tell me how you can set this up to scroll thru the patches up and down and the tuner on the far right. That would be a start in the right direction for me. Thanks
You can build a custom layout to increment and decrement presets and then place a tuner on the right
I purchased an AIRSTEP and haven’t figured out how I want to program it to my setup with an Eventide H9, Strymon Volante, Strymon Nightsky and Poly Digit in the FM3 loop.
the easiest way for the FM3 would be to Assign a CC#, value (of 127) and midi channel to the airstep and use the "learn" function in the bypass tab in the midi/remote menu of the setup page
With using an FC6, can I lay this out to have the 3 bottom buttons set to run my scenes and the top 3 buttons as effects to toggle on and off?
Yes you can!
Hey Rosh!! Great content, super helpful in every way! I recently bought the FM3 for travel because lugging around my AxeFX was too much. I have a request for a video, For my live setup I basically use 3 settings. A heavy distortion, a screaming lead & a clean tone. But when I switch between the presets there is a noticeable lag in the switch. What would fix this? Making them into scenes, channels? I’m not sure what the solution is
I created a video about seamless switching on the FM3, I would advise checking that out
@@RoshRoslin ah yes! thank you! a few minutes after i wrote this i discovered and watchd that video
I have a preset that each footswtich is set to bypass the effects, and then I set the footswitches on another preset for scenes. I go back to my other preset and the footswitches are set to scene too. how do I fix this?
You need to use "per preset" functions. The preset that you need scenes for set it to scenes using the per preset override
the preset that you need effects for, do that. Again using the per preset override
When I turn the FM3 on, I would like the FC CONTROLLERS buttons to default to scenes(2); rather than presets(1). Right now, I have to manually change every time from presets to scenes when I turn the FM3 on. I DO NOT change presets from the floor unit. I use the computer screen to change presets.
You can go into the layouts, and then go to to FC setup and select the FM3 to always default to load in layout #2, view #1.
@@RoshRoslin Thank you for this insight. Later, Nancy.
Does it make sense still to buy fm3 or move to fm9 directly to avoid tap dancing?
It just depends what you need live. I can make do with two views and a handful of presets for a gig on the FM3
@@RoshRoslin Best tutorial and explanations 🙌
I'm stumped. I assign a preset to Scene 1 but when I assign a preset to Scene 2, it shows on Scene 1 also. I've been trying to figure this out for days. What am I doing wrong?
You're using "current" as the footswitch display, you can change that to something else, most users I recommend making a "custom" footswitch label. You can type in anything you want there.
@@RoshRoslinYou can rename an FM3 built-in preset to anything you want, right? Then reference that preset number with the new name in the preset list, correct?
I don't understand what channels are used for in practice
Channels would be used to change different types and parameters in different effect blocks, like channel switching from a clean to a dirty amp
@@RoshRoslin I would appreciate if you could show me how to create a preset and scene from start to finish in relation to creating a playlist for a live performance. I mean setting the buttons in the most reasonable way, based on the example of specific songs with different sounds, so as to smoothly transition into sounds and subsequent songs. Kind regards.
