You do understand that you compared a Brushed tool to an Brushless tool right . The Brushless tool should perform better. They also make a Brushed version of the Compact that is around $95 Btw you can always replace your brushes on the 381
It would be interesting to change the brushes and see if that fixes the issue. He also shows the saw with the compact 2ah battery. If that’s how he runs them everyday in harsh conditions that might explain them wearing out prematurely. At the end of the day I’d probably just start investing in the newer brushless technology too.
Thanks this helped me pick the XR compact. (Weekend user, XR just means brushless so more efficient power usage). Plus I’m in New York so literally every square inch saved in the tool corner is important.
I picked one up today regular 250 for the bare tool but got it on sale for 179 not including taxes with taxes a even 200 I can't believe how cheap the tools are in the states
Thanks I mainly use for demolition and pruning. I also do Trail work and having to haul in a saw for a mile or two to do some cleanup it will be nice to have lighter saw that will last longer on a battery
Finally a review from someone that actually gets work done. Thank you. A lot of clean cut dorks giving their reviews on tools
Film boy 😂
I'm sold on the XR
I really appreciate your tool reviews. Nice to get an honest opinion from someone who actually depends on them.

When it comes to demolition. The battery makes a difference
The 3AH and 5AH are amazing
Yep. If you replace with newer high quality low friction brushes it can perform at 80-90% of the brushless.

Next time say made in MERICA.
Replace your brushes on. Your brushed motor. You can buy inexpensive replacements on Amazon. It will run like new.
