Being Black and into rock/punk/metal, from Boston with Love, this is extremely heartwarming to find by accident 🥺🤘🏿 at 29 going on 30, I'm still happy to see my people hold it down.
Sweet. A few years ago I met a 50 year old black lawyer that was into punk and metal big time. I was there working on his computer for the company I worked for at the time. He had punk streaming from Pandora and he and I had a lenghty conversation about old school punk rock/metal. I thought it was prttey cool. Not everyday I run into a black punk/metal head. Rare where I live lol.
The more that you look and research, you realize the truth. Black America created every genre of music.

The Hillbillies of largely Scots-Irish origin had a massive influence on what became rock "n' roll and all that followed after with their rockabilly that was essentially revved up country and bluegrass. Listen to the church music of the Appalachia region and the snake handling pentecostal sects in particular. That is primeval rock and roll stripped to it's bare bones. Black America with Gospel and the blues had an undoubted huge impact but rock has always been a musical melting pot drawing on different cultural currents.

Punk rock has always been about questioning, breaking and ironizing society's rules. That means, a black punk rock band covering a white supremacist band is by its very definition punk rock. Awesome job!
It also gives more punk rock energy to the original because it's censored by corporate, whereas this harmless "breaking of rules" is permitted and promoted.
@@Humanophage What people always forget, it is not so much about political correctness on UA-cam's site (Skrewdriver's All Skrewed Up is all over UA-cam), but it is about who owns the rights to this music. If there is some bonehead crap on UA-cam, those boneheads have theoretically (and practically) the rights to get money from the views. And if I were UA-cam, I wouldn't want to support those people (and neither offend my audience). Skrewdriver's All Skrewed Up was released on Chiswick (like Motörhead and other alternative UK bands). So there is no way any money goes to boneheads. If they wouldn't't have made up a whole band for the movie Romper Stomper (better sound than any bonehead band out there - what a shame hahaha [and by the way on UA-cam - with extremely racist lyrics]), the movie would have been boycotted everywhere, which is, in my opinion, comprehensible.

E.g. at one point Stahlgewitter had several 1M+ view songs, then they got wiped out and hard banned, now some are allowed again. Their tactics are rather clear from looking at internet archive.

This is what I remember as a kid. Black, white or brown..... Didn't matter. We were all friends and family that skated, rode bikes, listened to punk/metal, maybe smoked a bowl if that was your thing... And we fuckin chilled.
This is a Skrewdriver cover. For the uninitiated, Skrewdriver is one of the most infamous white-supremacist/neo-nazi skinhead bands of all time. So that makes it about 1000% more hilarious and interesting. The original song is called Voice of Britain.
That fact that an all Black HxC band covered Skrewdriver is the most punk rock thing I've ever heard of.

Had the opportunity to see them a few months before Omar’s passing. Drove 4 and a half hours across the state to visit my friend going to school in Memphis, and their stage presence and raw power was the perfect antidote to blow all the steam from the drive. Rest In Peace.
