I've watched most of your videos. I am surprised you actually found a day that did NOT rain during your filming long enough to start a fire with solar ignition!
Shawn,,, I really Pray that you are Blessed and Rewarded for All the time consuming work that You’ve put into Your Channel,,,!!!!! Thanks to Your Teaching and Demonstration’s,,, I can Honestly say that I Extremely Confident in being able to take care of my family and myself. This my friend,, I owe primarily to You and your Excellent Teaching Techniques,,,!!!! Thanks Joshua
Thank you for sharing so many ways to igniting char cloth. I really love the way you have the holes for your char can on the edge of can so you can make it and store it.
Thank you for showing how to make char cloth. Seems very useful and quick. A resource that people don't realize is that old projection TVs have huge magnifying screens in them. You can cut a screen up and have a magnifying sheet for a lot of people and concentrate them on your food to actually cook it like a solar stove. People don't realize that these TV screens are valuable survival tools and they end up in a landfill.
Your demo of the "parabolic" lens reminded me of a solar cigarette lighter sold in the back of magazines 30-40 years ago (same era as "sea monkeys"). I'll definitely remember the parabolic lens ! Excellent production - as usual !
Great video I really enjoyed it just a note I've seen this done with a plastic bag with water added once again you are teaching us to think outside the box thank you
Great summary and practical demonstration of various methods! I really appreciate your style: Informative and to the point! Have been binge-watching your channel last night :D
WOW, I had no idea you could light a fire with those ways. Hubbs Harry and I were talking about when we used to take a magnifying glass and shine it on paper on the sidewalk to catch it on fire, when we were silly kids! LOL! Very interesting lessons - thank you!
Just when you think you've seen about everything on how to ignite a fire voila' you present new methods I've not seen before. I think I'll write these down so I don't forget them. Thanks. By the way, instead of using cotton squares to make char cloth I use cotton rope from a mop head to make char rope. You'd be surprised how effective they are.
Simply 'OUTSTANDING' Sir!!! :) I'm working my way through your back catalogue. This should help the algorithm a little, in your favor. Best wishes from the UK. Thanks for all of your time, really learning a lot. All the best to you and your family, Sir.
That's good information to learn ! The glass marble is good . Noticed in recent years it's hard to find good magnification glass . Only finding plastic detuned one's that won't start a FIRE .
I am so glad that I have found your channel. I feel confident that if I am ever put into a survival situation I wouldn't just survive I would thrive and have a good time doing it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge you rock
Very interesting. I learned a few new methods for making fire. There are so many ways, primitive and modern. I still have my very first bow drill kit I made way back in the 80's when I first learned friction fire at a survival school.
Wish I could give multiple thumbs up. Agree with always having 3 and those 3, in particular. Burning lens allows one to be frugal with (ration) the other two, when necessary. Had never considered the pot lid. Have a bunch of those, in the kitchen. They're common at thrift stores, so economical to purchase and repurpose - to keep peace in the family :-) All good to know. All good to practice, especially in trying conditions. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like the sun is a number one method for making fires, saving on all the other resources I carry a lens in my wallet at all times Once again great vid
Carrieing perscription glasses, comes in handy sometimes. Gonna practice on char cloth, never made that. Have a container in mind. That tin can is awsome. Thinking aiming is the key.
excellent.. never seen the flashlight one.. that is so cool.. on the tin foil.. do you also make a tiny hole for gases to escape or does it escape naturally thru the folds? thx!
Nice. I liked the light bulb version. The pot lid is interesting, but knowing my klutzy ass I'd spill it all over what I'm trying to light. As always, great vid.
The method u are using to make char cloth is the same method to make charcoal. You can capture the gas being expelled by put a tube from container under water and capturing it as the gas rises. This could be used as biofuel. Knowing how to make your own biofuel can come in handy in a crap hits the fan situation. And can be made by almost anything in the environment.

Excellent demo Shawn. Solar ignition is my favorite method to use when it is available. The pot lid was a new one for me. Take care bro. Well done.
Thank you Sir, More to come
Thank you for sharing so many ways to igniting char cloth. I really love the way you have the holes for your char can on the edge of can so you can make it and store it.
Liked all the methods of using solar. The can was a new one for me . Thanks for the video.

Fine clay and black bottom silt polishes very well and quick. Maple and oak leaves can get a final mirror finish.
Damn, I like the parabolic light reflector, I never thought of using a car light reflector. Awesome sauce.

I love how the bird freaks out as soon as he says bird's nest.
The bird knows what's up, thanks for watching
It wouldn't surprise me if the bird was one that had its nest yoinked by Corporal in the past! Lol
That pot lid! Thanks for sharing this. Take care.
That's impressive, have never heard of the pot lid but that was awesome. Love the information your channel puts out

The sun wouldn't work for you to start a fire anymore because for you the world ended already.
I like your channel too
Well done! I sorta knew those but I doubt I would have recalled them without your demonstration. Thank you

Bottom of the can is a new trick for me. Thanks for sharing that.
That's good information to learn ! The glass marble is good . Noticed in recent years it's hard to find good magnification glass . Only finding plastic detuned one's that won't start a FIRE .
It's great that you run in real time, tbat way we know how fast each method works!!!
I like your no b/s style. Keep up the great work.

Outstanding! A fun title would have been "Start fire with your skivvies!"
Tremendous presentation, Sir...as you said, "That was outstanding!"
Corporal, this video is outstanding!!!!!!
Hi Cpl Kelly this is probably your best yet - clear, interesting and informative. Thank you so much for sharing. ATB. Nigel
Great As a fan of solar , i enjoyed this. I've used many things for solar ignition and even done it in sun showers/flurries before.
When you said to transfer it to a birds nest, that bird chirping in the background was like, “you best not be using my nest!” LOL
All thoughts are truth, ty and God Bless 🇺🇸
Great video, Cpl. Kelly!!!
Thanks for all the great video's. And for sharing your knowledge.
dang corporal, your videos are extremely well put together. I've always enjoyed watching them
Carrieing perscription glasses, comes in handy sometimes. Gonna practice on char cloth, never made that. Have a container in mind. That tin can is awsome. Thinking aiming is the key.

Nice. I liked the light bulb version. The pot lid is interesting, but knowing my klutzy ass I'd spill it all over what I'm trying to light.

Outstanding video. Thanks.

Have you tried igniting a fire with ice?....I saw it on one of those survival programs.
Thinking out side the box..👍🏻
Amazing
Outstanding !!
That was great !
thumbs up!
Clark and Virginia
Good stuff. How does char cloth compare to a cotton ball coated in Vaseline when used with a metal match or regular match?
Always a thumbs up
Could use a refresher on Krav maga
Cool!
BOO-YAH!!!
I always wondered what to do with the old shoe polish cans.
thx
Great video. You say to not open the char cloth container, so that oxygen does not get in there. But what do you do about the hole?
Brandon Redmond the gas inside heats up, expands, and forces its way out through that hole. So oxygen can't get in.
👍👍
that 2nd to last one the pan lid was a good un😁
my fav is start fire whit ice
Probably not going to happen in Arizona. Thanks for watching
Like your light bulb full of water, some, that's some, not all, bottled drinking water can do the trick.
Toothpaste works really well on the bottom of soda can
thankful for your posts. and thanks for the help Kelly
Thank you please share this video and my channel with others
☀️👍🏻
Can you do a oak forest survival vid?
I saw Dave Canterbury start a fire with a plastic bag of urine
The best "tinder" I've found to ignite a flame from a lens, is Bible paper. Don't worry - God will forgive you.
Have you ever made fire from Ice?
I wonder if binoculars work or if that would damage them
I take the lens out of broken Binoculars as well as old projection Big screen TV's. Thanks for watching
