I love contents about Odin 2 so I insta subscribed haha. May I ask what are the two first games you've shown in the "Closing Thoughts" section of the video? The only thing I'd suggest to improve your videos' quality would be to add the title of each game you're testing on the screen. Besides that keep it up man, great channel!
Glad you like it and thanks for the feedback! I believe the final two games are Skylanders Imaginators and Mortal Kombat Deception (or Mortal Kombat Armageddon).
Glad you liked it! Force Unleashed should work fine as it's a PS2 game. KOTOR 1 in theory should work, but let me see if I've got the Android version and I'll try that.
Good question! In short, getting hold of the apps is going to be harder, and it's not exactly clear what the legal standpoint is. It's also possible another developer will pick up the apps and rework them so they're less copyright infringing.
on my odin 2 using vulkan on dolphin results in black screens with audio only running on Most gamecube have to use opengl and it works great at 1080 BUT the battery drain is bad about 2 hours vs 6ish on games vulkan works on
Sure can! If you go to the start of each section of the video there should be a label that says the platform (SNES, Genesis, etc) and below that is the name of the emulator I used in blue (RetroArch, Dolphin, etc).
I'm currently thinking about getting one used for a decent price (for my country at least) but it's STILL pretty expensive... Worth 3500SEK/€304/$328/£260? I'm currently on a 351P, which I've been (and still am) very happy with, but it's obviously VERY underpowered so want to upgrade to be able to play up to Switch. How are the ergonomics when using the D-pad (I'm a sucker for 2D-stuff so a good D-pad is important to me)?
The d-pad is good! That's actually one of the things I look for as well. The only real drawbacks are the face buttons, which imo are too small for the device. The price is worth it given how much it can play. Just keep in mind Switch is limited by the state of the emulator rather than the console itself.
Im just getting into retro gaming after a general hiatus from gaming in general (I was mostly a PC gamer). Ive ordered this as my first and last "one and done" system. Do you reckon this is "endgame" for everything PS2 and under? Especially as you can change things such as the battery, potentially getting many years out of the device?
As of right now, I legit think it's the best Android option for PS2 and below (the face buttons still suck though). The only other real alternative out there is the Steam Deck, but not everyone wants/needs a Steam Deck.
@@RetroResolve thanks for reply! My friend who is a seasoned retro gamer told me to rather spend the money and get a device that can do all the old consoles well rather than having to tinker with settings on the less powered devices. I have no intention of collecting these devices 😅 Of course the Steam Deck is an amazing system but I can't see myself travelling with it because of the size. It also sells locally for 30% to 40% more than what I paid for the Odin 2 with shipping and customs. I also have a gaming PC that can still play many of AAA titles just fine. Sorry one last question, how does the Odin handle being docked/"console" mode? Will the screen switch off and it seamlessly outputs to a monitor or TV?
@@RetroResolve thanks appreciate all the answers. Hopefully mine ships soon, ordered on Saturday night with DHL shipping but no movement of package yet from their warehouse.
@@whoopswrongbutton3987 I don't think it's going to make much of a difference to be honest. Obviously more is always better, but it's the chipset that's the most important thing with newer console emulation. Loading may be slightly slower, but that won't noticeable unless you also buy the Pro and Max as well. The main thing is that you get the right drivers installed in Yuzu. Once that's done you should be fine to play roughly the same games as the Pro (when it comes to emulation). I'd maybe get a space SD card, though, haha. That 128GB is going to get filled up FAST.
Your best bet is to Google 'Citra Compatibility'. There should be a list that breaks down every game and says how well they work and if there are any problems.😁

The reason I didn't mention isn't anything as excitingly sinister either. It's just a case of I'm very new to UA-cam and didn't think to (but will absolutely do so moving forwards).
The base odin 2 is powerful enough to play everything that was in this video. I wouldn't jump to assuming everyone cover this product are shills. Just look around, there are videos that cover things the way you want.
I love seeing videos on Ayn Odin 2
This video confirms that I should get the AYN Odin 2 and I’m going to buy the Max for longevity.
Mine comes in 2 days 😊😊😊😊
Wait get the odin mini
whats the benefit of the max over the pro? do switch games play better?
@@mrrolandlawrencemore ram and more storage space that's it actually. Same specs base comes with 8/128, Pro is 12/256, Max is 16/512

Hello thank you for your video. Did you used the 8 Gb device, 12 Gb or 16 Gb for your tests ?
Hello! It's the Odin 2 Pro, so that would be 12GB, I believe.

what's the name and plataform game before of Mortal Kombat?
Skylanders Imaginators!
Sorry if I missed it, but which version of the Odin were you using for these tests?
It's the Pro! I did Consider the Max but I think it'd be diminishing returns.

Do you get fatigued trying to play for longer sessions (30min to couple hours)?
Not really? On the Steam Deck it starts to feel heavier after a few hours. But this thing feels light enough for me.

Get a better mic
I will when the channel starts making money. I've got HyperX Quadcast S at the moment and better mics than that cost A LOT.
