I feel the same 😭. I don't think I have a relationship with the Lord and getting mad at the Lord because I feel let down. My health is not good, got pains everywhere, I've confessed my sins and I don't know what else to do but not answer. I don't want to be mad at the Lord, He has been faithful and miracles in my life 🙏
This is true, especially at the Beginning but as you keep on doing it regularly, you will see the difference and you won't even know when it happened, anytime my prayer life goes down I go down all round but when I get back n start building again which is quite tedious cos you have to start again, immediately within a little time my life gets back....then you can also start with praise and worship alot and it will usher you into prayers and you might enjoy it, I pray God helps you as he has helped me AMEN

Thank you Vlad for the inspiration. My prayer life has been dry recently because I've been feeling quite disconnected from God. Sometimes it feels like my prayers just hits the ceiling and doesn't reach God. When I don't see things changing in my life, I get discouraged and lose the motivation to pray. I now understand why I don't pray, and will take steps every day to get my prayer life back on track in Jesus' Name!!

I don't pray enough and I feel guilty for that. I only pray at bedtime when I thank God through Jesus for my good life and his blessings. I ask him to guide me to his ways and he has connected me many internet videos that show me the way and give answers my questions. This video is a result of such a request. I ask God to fill me with the Holy Spirit and to strengthen my faith and it is working. Your video has opened my eyes to the need for prayer. In this age & time when all contentious religions of this world vie with the Godly and equate their foolish chantings, their recitals, their beady-babblings, their public displays of piety, their ceremonial rituals etc. with Prayer, if we are not careful even the Godly can lose track of what actually is the meaning of Prayer. For, let us not forget, Prayer is one of the 4 Chief Gifts of God to His people,THE REDEEMED - eg. Jn 14:12-14. The other 3 being of course, the Holy Spirit (Jn 14:16-17), the Joy of the Lord (Jn 16:20) and the surpassing Peace of the Lord (Jn 14:27). So, what is Prayer really? Prayer is holy Fellowship with God. In other words, Prayer is a testament to one's holy fellowship with God and an expression of one's ABSOLUTE trust in Him. The reason it was the Lord who alone has perfectly fulfilled, exemplified and taught Prayer to us. The Lord taught us how to and how not to pray. The blue-print for Prayer in Matt 4:9-13 He gave us laying down its clear directions - perfectly according to the sovereign Will of God. The Lord did not stop with that. He continued to teach how to pray - in all circumstances & at all times - perfectly according to the sovereign Will of God. For eg., Matt 5:6, Matt 6:32-33, Matt 9:38, Matt 18:19-20, Matt 20:22, Matt 21:22, Matt 24:20, Matt 26:26-27, Matt 26:41, Mk 6:41, Lk 11:13, Lk 21:36, Lk 22:41-42, Lk 23:34a, Lk 23:46, Jn 4:10b, Jn 4:24 etc.(lest I missed any). Therefore, it is impossible for anyone but the Godly to pray. One may cry out in times of need and see the deliverance of God, but that does not constitute Prayer. For most certainly, more often than not, once they've savored God's deliverance, they forget all about Him and turn farther away from Him. Like it was for example in the case of Hagar and her son. Hagar was definitely not praying (Gen 21:15-16). Neither was the young lad Ishmael (Gen 21:17a). In contrary, take for example Hannah. Clearly, Hannah was Praying (1 Sam 1:10-12 & 15b). Because only one who believes in the Word of God knows how to pray according to the Will of God. Prayer that is acceptable & pleasing to God. Prayer that enables one to enter into holy fellowship with God. And the rewards thereof is more than the deliverance. As we learn from Hannah's example (1 Sam 2:1-10) - rewarded with one of the firsts of very clear prophesies of the First Coming of the Lord. The reason being she pined not merely for a son but for The Son in keeping with the promise of God (Gen 3:15b) to see and welcome its fulfillment, having been misled into believing in the Adamic lie of Gen 3:20, like the rest of mankind (eg. Gen 5:29), that the prophesied Son will come from the seed of the fallen man! So, even though her wisdom at the time of her praying for a child was faulty, having turned to God for its fulfillment, she was rewarded manifold and her Spiritual insight set aright, so that she remained in the Lord all her life, even selflessly surrendering her child to the service & glory of God. Prayer therefore is not reminding God or nagging God about His faithful promises. But a day-to-day confession & proclamation of His infallible promises until their fulfillment - eg. Isa 62:6-7. For in such a prayer God is truly glorified. And in turn our trust in Him all the more reinforced. Amen.
Prayer saved my marriage. I was going to die of illness and I asked God for mercy, I then got scripture that because of His mercy I am healed. God id unseen but He is most powerful.
I'm revived in my spirit I just got a job and then all i would always do just flew right past each day. Cus I took my job more seriously and saw less of the importance of prayer But thanks to you Sir, Am ready to start a new journey with the holy spirit

Hello Vlad and Everyone! God bless you! Yes, my prayer life has/does suffer all 6 of the reasons mentioned, but there is a 7th reason: apathy and/or dire difficulty in either creating good habits or removing bad ones. Discipline, in certain things, is tough for me. Yes, I've prayed all of my life to achieve a regular daily habit of setting aside time for prayer a couple or few times a day, (plus the little things that come up) because I see all of the blessings in it, as those you mention, but it isn't always that simple. I think we often are permitted to be in situations that we would not choose if we were more disciplined, but which others suffer from the same as we, and we can reach them by our testimony of the working through of our difficulties. I found the River of God that way: I had been in sin again, left it, but didn't know where to go from there. In my desperation I reached out and God showed me, first the wall of prayer in Jerusalem, and then it turned into Christ's right hand turned sideways with the River running down over the palm. I heard the word "Drink". Now, if I had a habit of prayer I would've found this River 40+ years ago, simplified my life BIG TIME, and not have been deep in repeat sin. But, like the Israelites who were obstinate repeatedly, wow! What a blessing their testimony is; if we all could just accept God's instructions early in life and avoid the hairball messes... I'm DEFINATELY not trying to say any of my sin was God's will or anything like that, but I do believe that each sin, after being confessed, remitted to God, and overcome is a testimony. The war of overcoming apathy is tough and I will confess that all these 40+ years God has been telling me that if I want to be included in the rapture I'VE GOT TO OVERCOME IT.. I think part of the answer must be drinking from the River 24 hrs a day, not just when I think or feel I need it. However, your videos and Derek Prince, Joyce Meyer, Rick Warren, Charles Stanley and many others are really blessing me and encouraging me, also admonishing me too. Thanks!

The enemy makes us think that God doesn't hear us and that is a lie. He does hear us and the more we pray, the more the Holy Spirit will help us. Hello Pastor Blad. It's impossible for me not to pray every single day and talk to the Lord during the day. When I don't pray for some reason I feel bad, anxious and something it's missing because prayer it's a conmunion and a lifestyle with the Holy Spirit, even my mood change honestly because the most important thing that I have and do it's my relationship with Jesus, I am nothing without him. Prayer it's so powerful an d Thank The Father for that. God is good and he is the best thing have ever happened to me.
Amen, I’m with you sister by GOD’S will my day is not complete or even started unless I pray to our Heavenly Father in JESUS name. I must let GOD know that I see his glory everyday in this wicked world. How we as people take everything for granted when they our GOD provides us with light, provides us with air , hearing his birds singing early in the morning, we waking up once again on this earth to see another day ,I can go on and on but I know it’s the glory of GOD praise the Lord of how wonderful our GOD is. To have a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father is truly good for our soul, but instead most of his children seek fame ,riches,drugs,devil practices, 15 minutes of fame and have became narcissistic, selfish, lack of compassion for others, greedy, conniving and down right wicked. But if they only pray talk to our Heavenly Father thru JESUS CHRIST on a more regular basis they would see and feel his love that he have for his children and their lives would be better for the good because GOD knows best what each of his children need. I pray everyday that people will see the errors of their ways and realize that they need to reach out to our Heavenly Father and confess that they need him and that they love him and they will worship him and him only repent of their sins and accept JESUS CHRIST as their savior and how pleased our HEAVENLY Father would be. GOD is a merciful GOD that he haven’t showed his wrath towards his children for not obeying him and what we’ve became in this world today. This should be more of a reason why we should pray everyday for the mercy GOD have for us , everyone wants what the world have to offer but how we quickly forget who created this world for us . So you keep doing the right thing and seal your relationship with our Heavenly Father because if you never did anything right in your life, you definitely got this right for your life and your soul may GOD be with you always in JESUS name amen 🙏.

🎉As a believer in Christ,there are times when I feel like not to pray but I learn when I don't feel to pray, that is the time to pray because I listen and take heed to which voice I am going to listen to. I will begin to be thankful for all that God has done for me and reflect on where I am and where I could have been without God. I repent daily, and the Holy Spirit leads me to prayer for others, myself ,family, loved ones, relatives,unsaved loved ones,people in need --healing,deliverance,salvation and the list goes on and on. In the past I used to feel like I was closer to God because I prayed all the time interceded for others and even knew many times how they were feeling. Lately! it's been a challenge. This is inspirational and heart warming Brother Vlad. Timely cz i needed something like this. Very True. As humans we tend to feel disappointed, stressed out and even depressed most especially when we need God's urgent help... i have been in that situation a couple of times. Ive had prayer time, i was devoted for so long to my prayer novenas, on sundays i consistently go to church. It came to a point when i almost gave up on praying too long, praying and asking only to feel that God has been silent again. Even when we are prayerful and religious, God still puts us to trials and tribulations, at the end of the day, we still end up praying to God. I personally have experienced feeling exhausted and tired of asking and praying because its not going to be our way, in our time of need but always in God's perfect timing. HIS WILL, not ours. Its difficult to understand God's Will but HE is a loving and merciful GOD, HIS Faithfulness is our only Saving Power. One of GOD's promises is... "Trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowledge HIM and HE shall direct your paths" Again easier said than done because of our human mindset and emotions, but GOD is in control of everything, we just have to keep trusting him , through our Lord Jesus Christ. GOD's Saving Grace is made perfect in my weakness & many times i have given up on prayers, so i pray and pray and pray and pray because i Trust HE will answer and deliver me beautifully in HIS TIME🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️ AMEN
I would like to pray and also read the Bible because I travel a lot with my 4 children and I'm tired late in the evening I can't pray. I make brief prayers and go to sleep. I'm not satisfied with it, but I also don't know how to do everything. One thing I know as soon as I pray I will be fought fiercely in my dreams or a lot of visions in my dreams! Yes pastor I've been saved about 6 years now I established a solid communion with God for the first couple years and I don't want to make an excuses but slowly my prayers life has slipped. I know God has a powerful calling for my life. Felt a dark cloud slowly coming over me yet again and I had to ask myself why things were going downhill spiritually. Things in my life have been improving but my spiritual tank was empty and I had to stop and search my soul for answers. While killing time on social media a post led me to a rabbit hole of spiritual awareness. It’s as if God and the angels protecting me yelled “WAKE UP”. I just fell on this video today, this was definitely the Father speaking to me telling me He misses me so much and wants me back into our prayer we had together. Right now i am definitely living in sin in a secret place. Today through these encouraging words and enlightenment, God has spoken to my heart to come back and i want to come back and rebuilt my relationship with my Father. I am blessed and i needed these exact encouraging words.
Recently I was set free from the paralysis of inevitability. The enemy had neutralized me within my logic concerning God’s sovereignty. I never knew the value of prayer. Suddenly, this Easter, God set me free through the prayer I asked my friends for via social media. My eyes were opened by His revelation. Now I understand this video and all that you said. Because I cannot understand the logic and must receive this truth with my spirit. Trusting God goes beyond our mind. Prayer may not make sense to us, but it is God’s way. Higher than ours.
I'm 61, and I've been saved since I was 11, so I've had some chances to learn things. I started writing my prayers in high school, and I still do it to this day. Not just writing down requests, but the whole conversation, starting with gratitude (almost always). It takes time and it's hard to cover every last topic, but it does give me structure, and a way to track God's responses. It may or may not be emotionally exciting, sometimes there's not that much going on, but--thinking about how David, Job, others dialogued with God, I let it all hang loose, and depending on how it goes, I might end up bawling, or a consternating question might be answered. Either way, I now feel I couldn't go much more than a day or two without my time with God. I now am much better at praying without writing, in the car, before I go to sleep. Not perfect, for sure, but there's no question that practice, literally habit, makes a lot better.

It’s true. I’ve prayed very well at times and other times I think I get discouraged for unanswered prayer but I can say this I notice when I pray as you mentioned my time does seem to not be wasted. Thank you for this. My issue was I didn’t have anything to say or I was irritated by repetition during my prayer time . It felt discouraging. When I started praying for my city I was advised to be careful because there are spiritual principalities that have authority to be in individual cities and praying against them ie. sin drugs, gangs, cartel, human trafficking, etc could cause me spiritual attacks because I’m not authorized to pray against these principalities. Well after hearing that that really put a nail in my prayer time so I stopped. When I was praying for these things and even used 1 Timothy to back me up, I felt like I was helping and warring for the body of Christ but was warned by several spiritual leaders to be careful because some spiritual principalities have been given authority to be there by the people in those cities. Idk it just discouraged my prayer time and then eventually my prayer time dwindled to me barely spending 5 min in prayer. I’m going to try today to use the Father’s prayer as Pastor Vlad mentioned to get started back in a prayer time. Thank you and God bless and praying this works for me and any other person struggling to strengthen their relationship and prayer time with God.
In this age & time when all contentious religions of this world vie with the Godly and equate their foolish chantings, their recitals, their beady-babblings, their public displays of piety, their ceremonial rituals etc. with Prayer, if we are not careful even the Godly can lose track of what actually is the meaning of Prayer. For, let us not forget, Prayer is one of the 4 Chief Gifts of God to His people,THE REDEEMED - eg. Jn 14:12-14. The other 3 being of course, the Holy Spirit (Jn 14:16-17), the Joy of the Lord (Jn 16:20) and the surpassing Peace of the Lord (Jn 14:27). So, what is Prayer really? Prayer is holy Fellowship with God. In other words, Prayer is a testament to one's holy fellowship with God and an expression of one's ABSOLUTE trust in Him. The reason it was the Lord who alone has perfectly fulfilled, exemplified and taught Prayer to us. The Lord taught us how to and how not to pray. The blue-print for Prayer in Matt 4:9-13 He gave us laying down its clear directions - perfectly according to the sovereign Will of God. The Lord did not stop with that. He continued to teach how to pray - in all circumstances & at all times - perfectly according to the sovereign Will of God. For eg., Matt 5:6, Matt 6:32-33, Matt 9:38, Matt 18:19-20, Matt 20:22, Matt 21:22, Matt 24:20, Matt 26:26-27, Matt 26:41, Mk 6:41, Lk 11:13, Lk 21:36, Lk 22:41-42, Lk 23:34a, Lk 23:46, Jn 4:10b, Jn 4:24 etc.(lest I missed any). Therefore, it is impossible for anyone but the Godly to pray. One may cry out in times of need and see the deliverance of God, but that does not constitute Prayer. For most certainly, more often than not, once they've savored God's deliverance, they forget all about Him and turn farther away from Him. Like it was for example in the case of Hagar and her son. Hagar was definitely not praying (Gen 21:15-16). Neither was the young lad Ishmael (Gen 21:17a). In contrary, take for example Hannah. Clearly, Hannah was Praying (1 Sam 1:10-12 & 15b). Because only one who believes in the Word of God knows how to pray according to the Will of God. Prayer that is acceptable & pleasing to God. Prayer that enables one to enter into holy fellowship with God. And the rewards thereof is more than the deliverance. As we learn from Hannah's example (1 Sam 2:1-10) - rewarded with one of the firsts of very clear prophesies of the First Coming of the Lord. The reason being she pined not merely for a son but for The Son in keeping with the promise of God (Gen 3:15b) to see and welcome its fulfillment, having been misled into believing in the Adamic lie of Gen 3:20, like the rest of mankind (eg. Gen 5:29), that the prophesied Son will come from the seed of the fallen man! So, even though her wisdom at the time of her praying for a child was faulty, having turned to God for its fulfillment, she was rewarded manifold and her Spiritual insight set aright, so that she remained in the Lord all her life, even selflessly surrendering her child to the service & glory of God. Prayer therefore is not reminding God or nagging God about His faithful promises. But a day-to-day confession & proclamation of His infallible promises until their fulfillment - eg. Isa 62:6-7. For in such a prayer God is truly glorified. And in turn our trust in Him all the more reinforced. Amen.

Thank you Vlad for the inspiration. My prayer life has been dry recently because I've been feeling quite disconnected from God. Sometimes it feels like my prayers just hits the ceiling and doesn't reach God. When I don't see things changing in my life, I get discouraged and lose the motivation to pray.
I now understand why I don't pray, and will take steps every day to get my prayer life back on track in Jesus' Name!!

Prayer saved my marriage. I was going to die of illness and I asked God for mercy, I then got scripture that because of His mercy I am healed. God id unseen but He is most powerful.

I just got a job and then all i would always do just flew right past each day.

Hello Vlad and Everyone! God bless you! Yes, my prayer life has/does suffer all 6 of the reasons mentioned, but there is a 7th reason: apathy and/or dire difficulty in either creating good habits or removing bad ones. Discipline, in certain things, is tough for me. Yes, I've prayed all of my life to achieve a regular daily habit of setting aside time for prayer a couple or few times a day, (plus the little things that come up) because I see all of the blessings in it, as those you mention, but it isn't always that simple. I think we often are permitted to be in situations that we would not choose if we were more disciplined, but which others suffer from the same as we, and we can reach them by our testimony of the working through of our difficulties. I found the River of God that way: I had been in sin again, left it, but didn't know where to go from there. In my desperation I reached out and God showed me, first the wall of prayer in Jerusalem, and then it turned into Christ's right hand turned sideways with the River running down over the palm. I heard the word "Drink". Now, if I had a habit of prayer I would've found this River 40+ years ago, simplified my life BIG TIME, and not have been deep in repeat sin. But, like the Israelites who were obstinate repeatedly, wow! What a blessing their testimony is; if we all could just accept God's instructions early in life and avoid the hairball messes... I'm DEFINATELY not trying to say any of my sin was God's will or anything like that, but I do believe that each sin, after being confessed, remitted to God, and overcome is a testimony. The war of overcoming apathy is tough and I will confess that all these 40+ years God has been telling me that if I want to be included in the rapture I'VE GOT TO OVERCOME IT.. I think part of the answer must be drinking from the River 24 hrs a day, not just when I think or feel I need it. However, your videos and Derek Prince, Joyce Meyer, Rick Warren, Charles Stanley and many others are really blessing me and encouraging me, also admonishing me too. Thanks!

I pray everyday that people will see the errors of their ways and realize that they need to reach out to our Heavenly Father and confess that they need him and that they love him and they will worship him and him only repent of their sins and accept JESUS CHRIST as their savior and how pleased our HEAVENLY Father would be. GOD is a merciful GOD that he haven’t showed his wrath towards his children for not obeying him and what we’ve became in this world today. This should be more of a reason why we should pray everyday for the mercy GOD have for us , everyone wants what the world have to offer but how we quickly forget who created this world for us . So you keep doing the right thing and seal your relationship with our Heavenly Father because if you never did anything right in your life, you definitely got this right for your life and your soul may GOD be with you always in JESUS name amen 🙏.

I will begin to be thankful for all that God has done for me and reflect on where I am and where I could have been without God. I repent daily, and the Holy Spirit leads me to prayer for others, myself ,family, loved ones, relatives,unsaved loved ones,people in need --healing,deliverance,salvation and the list goes on and on. I maintain my relationship with my God and it encourages me to keep praying because of answered prayer and miracles of healing-spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally.
Prayer is the key to closed doors. Pray, pray, pray everyday and everytime you get the urge to pray--do not postpone prayer, it can be you miracle for answers.❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯🙌🙌

In the past I used to feel like I was closer to God because I prayed all the time interceded for others and even knew many times how they were feeling. Lately! it's been a challenge. This is inspirational and heart warming Brother Vlad. Timely cz i needed something like this. Very True. As humans we tend to feel disappointed, stressed out and even depressed most especially when we need God's urgent help... i have been in that situation a couple of times. Ive had prayer time, i was devoted for so long to my prayer novenas, on sundays i consistently go to church. It came to a point when i almost gave up on praying too long, praying and asking only to feel that God has been silent again. Even when we are prayerful and religious, God still puts us to trials and tribulations, at the end of the day, we still end up praying to God. I personally have experienced feeling exhausted and tired of asking and praying because its not going to be our way, in our time of need but always in God's perfect timing. HIS WILL, not ours. Its difficult to understand God's Will but HE is a loving and merciful GOD, HIS Faithfulness is our only Saving Power. One of GOD's promises is...
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowledge HIM and HE shall direct your paths"
Again easier said than done because of our human mindset and emotions, but GOD is in control of everything, we just have to keep trusting him , through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I would like to pray and also read the Bible because I travel a lot with my 4 children and I'm tired late in the evening I can't pray. I make brief prayers and go to sleep. I'm not satisfied with it, but I also don't know how to do everything. One thing I know as soon as I pray I will be fought fiercely in my dreams or a lot of visions in my dreams! Yes pastor I've been saved about 6 years now I established a solid communion with God for the first couple years and I don't want to make an excuses but slowly my prayers life has slipped. I know God has a powerful calling for my life. Felt a dark cloud slowly coming over me yet again and I had to ask myself why things were going downhill spiritually. Things in my life have been improving but my spiritual tank was empty and I had to stop and search my soul for answers. While killing time on social media a post led me to a rabbit hole of spiritual awareness. It’s as if God and the angels protecting me yelled “WAKE UP”. God is so mighty and he knows what we need before we even ask. Thank you pastor.

I just fell on this video today, this was definitely the Father speaking to me telling me He misses me so much and wants me back into our prayer we had together. Right now i am definitely living in sin in a secret place. Today through these encouraging words and enlightenment, God has spoken to my heart to come back and i want to come back and rebuilt my relationship with my Father. I am blessed and i needed these exact encouraging words.
Recently I was set free from the paralysis of inevitability. The enemy had neutralized me within my logic concerning God’s sovereignty. I never knew the value of prayer. Suddenly, this Easter, God set me free through the prayer I asked my friends for via social media. My eyes were opened by His revelation. Now I understand this video and all that you said. Because I cannot understand the logic and must receive this truth with my spirit. Trusting God goes beyond our mind. Prayer may not make sense to us, but it is God’s way. Higher than ours.
I'm 61, and I've been saved since I was 11, so I've had some chances to learn things. I started writing my prayers in high school, and I still do it to this day. Not just writing down requests, but the whole conversation, starting with gratitude (almost always). It takes time and it's hard to cover every last topic, but it does give me structure, and a way to track God's responses. It may or may not be emotionally exciting, sometimes there's not that much going on, but--thinking about how David, Job, others dialogued with God, I let it all hang loose, and depending on how it goes, I might end up bawling, or a consternating question might be answered. Either way, I now feel I couldn't go much more than a day or two without my time with God. I now am much better at praying without writing, in the car, before I go to sleep. Not perfect, for sure, but there's no question that practice, literally habit, makes a lot better.

I have been weak. Today I'm riding on God's wings of power in prayer
It’s true. I’ve prayed very well at times and other times I think I get discouraged for unanswered prayer but I can say this I notice when I pray as you mentioned my time does seem to not be wasted. Thank you for reminding me of all the benefits of prayer. God bless and help us all to continue to be steadfast in His word and prayer 🙏🏼.
Thank you for this. My issue was I didn’t have anything to say or I was irritated by repetition during my prayer time . It felt discouraging. When I started praying for my city I was advised to be careful because there are spiritual principalities that have authority to be in individual cities and praying against them ie. sin drugs, gangs, cartel, human trafficking, etc could cause me spiritual attacks because I’m not authorized to pray against these principalities. Well after hearing that that really put a nail in my prayer time so I stopped. When I was praying for these things and even used 1 Timothy to back me up, I felt like I was helping and warring for the body of Christ but was warned by several spiritual leaders to be careful because some spiritual principalities have been given authority to be there by the people in those cities. Idk it just discouraged my prayer time and then eventually my prayer time dwindled to me barely spending 5 min in prayer. I’m going to try today to use the Father’s prayer as Pastor Vlad mentioned to get started back in a prayer time. Thank you and God bless and praying this works for me and any other person struggling to strengthen their relationship and prayer time with God.
In this age & time when all contentious religions of this world vie with the Godly and equate their foolish chantings, their recitals, their beady-babblings, their public displays of piety, their ceremonial rituals etc. with Prayer, if we are not careful even the Godly can lose track of what actually is the meaning of Prayer.
For, let us not forget, Prayer is one of the 4 Chief Gifts of God to His people,THE REDEEMED - eg. Jn 14:12-14. The other 3 being of course, the Holy Spirit (Jn 14:16-17), the Joy of the Lord (Jn 16:20) and the surpassing Peace of the Lord (Jn 14:27).
So, what is Prayer really? Prayer is holy Fellowship with God. In other words, Prayer is a testament to one's holy fellowship with God and an expression of one's ABSOLUTE trust in Him. The reason it was the Lord who alone has perfectly fulfilled, exemplified and taught Prayer to us. The Lord taught us how to and how not to pray. The blue-print for Prayer in Matt 4:9-13 He gave us laying down its clear directions - perfectly according to the sovereign Will of God. The Lord did not stop with that. He continued to teach how to pray - in all circumstances & at all times - perfectly according to the sovereign Will of God. For eg., Matt 5:6, Matt 6:32-33, Matt 9:38, Matt 18:19-20, Matt 20:22, Matt 21:22, Matt 24:20, Matt 26:26-27, Matt 26:41, Mk 6:41, Lk 11:13, Lk 21:36, Lk 22:41-42, Lk 23:34a, Lk 23:46, Jn 4:10b, Jn 4:24 etc.(lest I missed any).
Therefore, it is impossible for anyone but the Godly to pray. One may cry out in times of need and see the deliverance of God, but that does not constitute Prayer. For most certainly, more often than not, once they've savored God's deliverance, they forget all about Him and turn farther away from Him. Like it was for example in the case of Hagar and her son. Hagar was definitely not praying (Gen 21:15-16). Neither was the young lad Ishmael (Gen 21:17a).
In contrary, take for example Hannah. Clearly, Hannah was Praying (1 Sam 1:10-12 & 15b). Because only one who believes in the Word of God knows how to pray according to the Will of God. Prayer that is acceptable & pleasing to God. Prayer that enables one to enter into holy fellowship with God. And the rewards thereof is more than the deliverance. As we learn from Hannah's example (1 Sam 2:1-10) - rewarded with one of the firsts of very clear prophesies of the First Coming of the Lord. The reason being she pined not merely for a son but for The Son in keeping with the promise of God (Gen 3:15b) to see and welcome its fulfillment, having been misled into believing in the Adamic lie of Gen 3:20, like the rest of mankind (eg. Gen 5:29), that the prophesied Son will come from the seed of the fallen man! So, even though her wisdom at the time of her praying for a child was faulty, having turned to God for its fulfillment, she was rewarded manifold and her Spiritual insight set aright, so that she remained in the Lord all her life, even selflessly surrendering her child to the service & glory of God.
Prayer therefore is not reminding God or nagging God about His faithful promises. But a day-to-day confession & proclamation of His infallible promises until their fulfillment - eg. Isa 62:6-7. For in such a prayer God is truly glorified. And in turn our trust in Him all the more reinforced. Amen.
