I remember watching these videos as a young kid, as soon as they came out from very early on. Super nostalgic watching now, being a kid was so much fun.

I remember watching these videos when I was pretty young. Had o have been like 10 at least. I decided to go back and watch some stuff because I ended up growing into the aspirations of being a film maker, and I wanted a nostalgia kick. I'm just looking at these videos and how they're produced and the quality and love and effort that went into them and reminiscing on the good ole days of UA-cam. I know that's such a cheesy thing to say but it's the truth. I don't have any issue with Fortnite or CoD vids or anything it's just so saturated with them that unique stuff like Indy Mogul type channels are hard to come by now. I miss these guys. I remember the first host is who was on when I started watching, cant remember his name though. I think it was Jeff or something? Idk I'll find it here in a bit with some more searching Lol.

Same here man, I actually discovered these guys on itunes videos when I was around 10ish as well, and that led me into their youtube scene. Incredible to see them grown so much now

helpful tip : when hot glueing on the rough side. always sand it smooth. that way the glue will hold better. contact cement also works great. plasty dip is great to coat it before painting.

they actually factored in the price of the heat gun this time around, and when it comes to the rotary tool and soldering iron you could ask your friends and family or buy them once and have them for any project.

Four inch PVC pipe cut on one side and heated to 375° so it becomes pliable makes a 14 inch wide plate that can be molded in to any shape you want. Be careful of the fumes it puts off. I use a heat gun outside to avoid that then a lil sand paper and some krylon paint. That's how I made mine

i ordered some eva foam from amazon and i don't see the problem,
i made some armor and it takes the bbs no problem .
if you get some holes to it , it just makes it look damaged
what i did is , after the match was over and i got home i just used some spray paint and gloves to make the bb holes look like bullet holes
      but its easy to repair
just use some silicone to fill up the holes
.. but all and all my build cost about 20 euros
dunno how much its in dollars but shouldn't be much

i know this is long ago but i know a few places,
try looking through lowes, home depo, that sales eva rolls pretty cheap probably less than 20 so my friends say
or do what i do and go to Harbor Freight and get about 4 mats for 5$ and thats more than enough to make a chest armor 2 rounds of em and you can make a full top armor and maybe your legs depending on details and decord
if your in the US i dont know else were if not sorry :(

If you use a streak metal cover on foam armor, you can be able to twist it around easier and you can give it a scrapy/rusty look that is easy to paint over. I use this on making heavy weapons for costumes, but you can use it on robotic armour...

Great stuff. EVA tiles are becoming more popular for costuming at conventions. We sell the EVA tiles, and nearly everything else used, at my work. :-)
PS. In case anyone's interested EVA stands for Expanded Vinyl Acetate. It can be glued with adhesive known as "contact adhesive".-The stuff used for gluing rubber to metal. Contact adhesive will probably be easier to use than hot glue (and it won't melt the EVA), but it has to be held in place while the glue dries.

You could use paint that has sheen to it if you are outside to give it the next step of metal (maybe car spray paint). Also texture spray paints could add feel to it if you want an opposite approach like a robot that has been rusting away or moss grown over it.

I'm so glad I found this, I think I'll be able to use this to make my transformer armor.

I'm makeing sith battle armour using this technique.
I am molding the foam and sewing/glueing it to a skintight zenti suit and its looking pretty baddass!

Oh nice i had that same idea, except on my design i used a 4' by 2.5' sheet of 1/4 inch thick plexiglass as the support and modeled the foam around that left a window and added a couple of straps, it came out looking awesome and I'm headed to Emerald City Comicon with my armor :D

I am definitely using the foam method now! Earlier today I saw this one girl's videos of her building Halo armor using the same method, and it looked so accurate, it was awesome! I love to cosplay and this could help me make so many more costumes that I have dreamed of having! :D

OMG that was amazing! My hubbie and I are going to make some with the kids and have a "family" of robot/soldiers. My hubbie makes action movies with our boys…this will bump it up a few notches!!! Thanks for the lessons,

That's really cool man. I rarely log into youtube to to kudos someone (like half a dozen times ever), but very cool, thumbs up!
