Those two need to lose their license. Putting themselves at risk. Passengers at risk. Other road users at risk and possibly causing massive disruption to a major road.
Pathetic that grown adults behave in such fashion.

Happened to me once on a road in Ireland. Slow driver holding up a long line of traffic by driving too close to a truck but not letting anyone else overtake from behind. Not able to overtake himself because of an underpowered car. I had to pull into to a service station for 20 minutes to calm down rather than continue in the traffic line from hell. Always good to recognise pressure limitations in the driver as well as other limitations in your car or abilities. I believe taking the break to calm down saved my bacon that day.

To me it's simple: both drivers should have been reported to the police and they both should lose their licenses. A nice, long anger management programme should be put in place for both of them upon successful completion of which they should be allowed to pass their driving tests again. What is worrying is that there are more and more 'drivers' like that on our roads.

    • @jgdooley2003

Cocaine. I was told this by a policeman when a victim of such loutish behaviour. I speculated that the driver might have been drunk but the policeman thought it more likely coke or amphetamines or some other drug some men take when body building...causes irrational anger, paranoia and reactions like this. Some people drive audis by choice...(I didnt)
I have owned two audis one in 1997 and one from 2014-16... I had to purchase those because it was the only car i could find with the finances i had available to me at the time and I needed transport quickly .and both were purchased from people I knew well... I suppose Audi drivers get a lot of bad press. .but then so do BMW drivers and the optional indicators 😀 ...in the 80s the joke amongst motorcycle riders were Volvo drivers...I treat a car as a domestic appliance ..its there to do a job not as a status symbol or fashion accessory..so my point is one shouldn't judge a person by the mode of transport ...there are good and bad in all forms of road transport

I've often wondered, if two drivers get into an accident due to this kind of road rage behavior, how on earth do they explain it to the police and insurance companies? I can only imagine how the police and insurance companies would react.
As serious as this incident was I did get a bit of a chuckle when Ashley said "I'll speed it up to get to the juicy bit". You certainly have a way with words Ash!

People have been pulled from the cars and beaten up or rammed by angry drivers with criminal backgrounds and drugs either in their cars or having been taken by the driver. Cocaine makes a drunk driver look good in comparison. People get very psychotic and angry on the stuff.

Thanks Ashley, that was interesting to watch. I've always found driving on the M60 to be quite stressful, because of high traffic volumes and because of the number of junctions, including some that don't give much time for you to get into the required lane.
Before the M60 was completed, I sometimes used to drive across the SE corner of Manchester, often filtering on my motorbike. Doing that sometimes seemed to trigger bad behaviour from the drivers that I was passing.

Decades ago I stupidly went for a ride on someone's car bonnet in an attempt to stop them driving away having rammed my motorcycle...whilst I was still on it! The Police and the magistrate took a very dim view with regard the other driver. He wanted his case heard in Crown Court, he represented himself and got himself 12mnths jail for dangerous driving, 3mnths for criminal damage and 3mnths for common assault!

I remember a short while back I was at a merge point and began the zipper merging as I was taught. I merged in front of someone, I thought that was that. A little while later I’m going right at a mini round about when all of a sudden I see some lady darting across the centre of the round about trying to pull in front of me and nearly hitting my door. I slow down but she suddenly stops, as she realises she’s about to hit me. I think to myself perhaps she didn’t see me indicating, carry on. Then I realise she’s tailgating. I slow down as instructed to do to increase my gap from the car in front. Then I suddenly see her go for an overtake in a 20mph road, and pull back when she realises she’s heading straight towards somebody. After that I chose to just indicate to the side of the road and let her pass. I give her a round of applause and bid her fair well. She’s probably content that she got her own back and has shown me how boss like she is, I was content that myself and others didn’t die that day. The following week I bought a dash cam

I think, unfortunately, this is just a symptom of where society is at now. People must win their pyrrhic victory, whatever the cost.
In the UK we have Brexiteers who just want Brexit whatever the cost or harm done to prove themselves right.
We have those who preferred to remain who want Brexit to be disastrous simply to prove we should not have left.
In the US, we all know what happened in Washington DC last week.

I remember quite a few years ago, driving from Warrington to Leeds which took me along the M60, a little bit north of the junction with the M62. It was early in the morning on Christmas Day so the motorway was very quiet, almost empty in fact. There was a section where there's one of those long slip lanes that goes on to the motorway then off again after a mile or so. Naturally I stayed in the second lane because was the leftmost lane that wasn't the slip lane. I was doing a steady 70mph and a lady joined the motorway to my left who was also doing a steady 70mph indicating right trying to get into my lane. She was yelling at me, gesticulating and all sorts. Why she couldn't have slowed down a bit and joined behind me I do not know. She was eventually forced to do this when her lane started to run out, but she was really not happy.
The way she was behaving was exactly as though I was deliberately speeding up and slowing down, stopping her joining the motorway, except of course I was not doing this.

    • @jgdooley2003
      @jgdooley2003 2 роки тому +1

There are some people who believe their car will blow up if they go one jot above 70mph. These creatures do not realise that we live in an approximate world and a variation of a few mph with good reason will be tolerated by the police.
2 options exist as you said: slow down and move in behind the car on the main stream lane. Speed up and get in ahead of the car on the main stream lane.
Some people cannot make binary decisions and end up merging into the car causing it to brake suddenly to avoid a collision
Also you have be aware of the type who will attempt to block you by speeding up suddenly to stop you merging ahead of them.
Also it is preferable to drive briefly on the hard shoulder or buslane if the alternative is that you hit someone by coming out suddenly in blind panic at the end of an acceleration lane. I see clowns doing this everyday in rush hour traffic, more afraid of a bit of white paint and a minor rule than being hit by a car in the main roadway. This is especially dangerous with HGV's. People have been killed on Irish roads by pulling out in panic from hard shoulders into the path of a HGV.

Even when other drivers are in the wrong now if you flash them or beep your horn they react with extreme aggression, male and female, I've experienced this with a wide range of age groups as well and it's got to the point where I just accept other road users bad driving as much as I can because the consequences of reacting are not worth it. Roads Policing is an issue, forces have systematically withdrawn resources from Traffic over the years, they will always cite budget cuts but at the same time the Police have also relinquished many other duties that they used to perform, they no longer deal with parking, wide loads and many other issues that are now undertaken by civilian traffic officers. This all has an impact on the way in which people are behaving on the roads, just on an observational point I have seen local Police units completely ignore issues when driving in traffic, some times it's the Police themselves that are the worst drivers on the road.

I do not know the situation with illegal guns in the UK but in Dublin, Ireland drug use and dealing while driving is becoming quite common. I make it an iron rule not to get involved with any incident on the roads. Many people have had encounters with armed gang members and things can quickly escalate to a fight where knives or guns are used. Do not react to aggressive behaviour in such cases but in an extreme case get to the nearest police station for safety.
There have been cases of thieves masquerading as plain clothes police who have stopped motorists and driven off in their cars, one such thief stopped a real cop and got done for his crime.
