Not 100 percent sure, but airspeed protection is only available with the autopilot on. Your demo showed pitch protection for nose up. Not the low speed protection function. Even though it did correct an undesirable flight condition, but because of a different triggering event. You did not get the autopilot to automatically engage for your high speed demo (4:25-5:09) because your nose down didn’t exceed the pitch nose down limit with autopilot off, unlike when you demonstrated it for slow speed. Your nose up was beyond the pitch up threshold. Once the autopilot engaged automatically for too much pitch up, I think airspeed protection will be active. Then at point it would control minimum airspeed by pitching down. The Autopilot had to be in use and inside the arming envelope for the low speed protection. Which Arms at 500AGL and above, and disarms when descending 200 AGL and below. Which would makes sense because below 200 AGL is where the pilot would eventually have to intervene to slow down to land. At least that’s my guess to why you didn’t get the autopilot engagement. Still a good video.

I notice that you have AOA on the G3X in your Mooney. Were you able to install the Garmin Pitot tube with the G3X?
