We made a slide presentation back in high school with this process using magazine pictures and clear packing tape. You do not have to remove the image from the paper prior to soaking. It will just take a bit more soaking to remove all the paper. We then mounted them into slide mounts. Such a cool technique!

I have several boxes of these overhead projector films, both ink jet and laser. My office was cleaning out their supply room and was going to throw them away!!! I took as many as I could carry on the train home! Lucky me! LOVE this idea!

Love this project and I've made some before myself but I didn't like the shiny finish off the tape. Place your tape on a non slip surface, take a scoring pad and gently rub in circles. It really dulls down the shine 👍

What a fun idea with the tape! I will definitely be trying this. I've used my stamps and stamp rollers with black permanent ink on tape and use it like washi tape. I've, also, applied acrylic paints on tape and then stenciled with a different color of paint over top and used it like washi as well.

Fun! I have done the packing tape method and as mentioned you don’t have to peel back the tape although when it works it may be easier …however what it did do was get me off my Hines to figure out if my old box of transparencies would work in my printer, first try it crumpled then I read to tape the transparency to copy paper and it worked like a dream so thank you!!

The ones that didn’t rub off so well is because of the more modern paper. Its fibres are more closely compressed, making it more durable & less brittle than older paper, which means it’s harder to rub off. Still looks cool though over coloured paper. And I love what you made with your transparent pieces! Especially the envelope

Fantastic!!! What a fun way to make unique ephemera. If you start experimenting with your gelli plate, you can use your packing tape to pick up strips of paint from your plate. Do a search on that for a UA-cam video. I can't remember who I watched demo that, but I have had such a good time creating colorful borders.

Take great care with using acetate in your printer. Some acetate melts in printers and photocopiers. Old stuff is often the melting type. A colleague once gummed up the school’s photocopier, a lot of replacements had to be made by the engineer. She, my colleague, was not popular. ❤❤❤

Love your experimenting! I haven’t done this technique in years….must have a play with it again. I wanted to mention when you have time to play with your gelli plate off camera you will find out it is so fun and addicting. I prefer using ink pads and a brayer or alcohol inks over using paint myself because it’s less messy…lol. I was scared at first too to use my gelli plate and put it off as well. I think everyone is, but you will absolutely love it I’m sure once you get the hang of it, and there are great tutorials too. You make everything beautiful and all of your techniques are amazing! You have such a natural creative talent and I love listening to your videos every day while I’m crafting.😊

Gelli printing is definitely addictive!!! Once you figure out how much paint to use & which colours you can use over each other (go dark to light or light to dark & make sure you know which paints are transparent or opaque), you will fall in love with the technique. The results are like nothing else.

Fun stuff and awsome end results you made sweetie 🤩
Another technique I think you would love too - is to put wax/beewax/leather wax/leather balsam on your paper images and then iron them (use some tin foil upon the waxed paper, so that you don´t get your iron greasy afterwards or use an old iron) After ironing the papers you take som papertowel and wipe them a little and they will turn completely like transparent vellum - I have become nearly addicitted doing this, it is so much fun 😝
