I don’t know why the video cannot be viewed in the USA. Paul was American. I can only watch this video when I am in a foreign country. Right now I am watching this video in Germany.
What a talented man who made heartfelt and joyful music that's just pure joy to listen to this was a song from my growing up that no matter what age you are music like this will make you feel joy
Fantastic song, remember it well from April, 1982. Apparently, the song was originally to be called "55 Love Affair" but the record company, for whatever reason, had some misgivings and the title was changed to "65 Love Affair." RIP Paul Davis.
Greg Rak that's because Paul was 7 in 1955...the concept of being involved with a girl at that age at that level would have been creepy/controversial. 1965 sounded better because the idea of being involved with a girl on a sexual level at 17 (Paul's age at the time) would have been more realistic.
Interesting, but extraordinarily dumb reasoning, assumes listeners are so STUPID that they literally believe the lyrics, meaning that the guy actually singing it, lived it.

From '65 to '15 it's been 50 years. Everything we see in this video can be related to our experiences today. 1915 to 1965 obviously was also a span of 50 years - does anyone truly believe that most of what was shown in this video could have been also relate-able to audiences of 1915. Absolutely no way! Do you think the average child of 1915 could think that a B52 Bomber could exist! (You know, those things that first became operational over SIXTY YEARS AGO and are still flying today?) No! In 1915, those things were 40 years in the future and works of science fiction. While we do have our 'miracles' of solar energy and internet based technologies, other life style changing paragon shifts have come to a 'feet in peanut butter' crawl. The rate of change our Great-Grandparents had to endure was truly fantastic. Most people refuse to recognize this today.
This music video traces back the events of 1965 such as the Vietnam War, the Beatles, President LBJ in his only full presidential term, and the Watts riots, just to name a few events. Back in 1965, Paul Davis was 17 years old at that time.
The reason I'm here is that David Hamilton played this on Boom Radio yesterday and I was amazed I hadn't heard it before. A seemingly ordinary song suddenly blossoms into genius when the hook arrives. What a great song! Do I hear shades of Hall & Oates or maybe Godley & Creme?
I am not surprised you thought that, especially considering Paul’s voice range was similar to Billy’s. Furthermore this song incorporates or makes references to the 50s/60s doo-wop music styles that Billy Joel would incorporate in his An Innocent Man album 2 years later.
80s song, 60s vibes, love both those decades!
Paul Davis 🎼🎤in memorian 🥀🥀

Very nice memories from Kalamazoo MI 1981-82!!

From my last year in high school!!
I feel that it hasn't changed much from now.
Such nice song. 👌😊

Brilliant! 👌
I thought Billy Joel sang this song, the first time I heard it. I felt surprised that it's not him.
