    I definitely understand the concern about Californians moving in. We'd love to get out of California soon and make our home in a state like Tennessee, BECAUSE of the values. Tennessee is so beautiful!!!

    Thank you Tiffany! That was very refreshing. I've lived in Knoxville all my life and would never live anywhere else. Most importantly, I enjoy the people. There's a reason we wave at each other in our cars whether they are friends or strangers! This is what they call the "Bible Belt" and we show respect and love for each other. I know that's corny, but it's the truth. Also, if we are waiting in line at the grocery store and someone else is in line with just a few items, often we will allow them to go ahead of us in line. That's just what friends and neighbors do!

    I’m originally from Dalton, GA (close to Chattanooga, TN area) and have lived in Northern California (Sonoma county) for 6 years. When you say that southern hospitality is a way of life, it is so so true! The sense of community and how people treat each other with kindness and common courtesy is something that’s hard to put into words. I had my CA adventure and am ready to move back one day

    I’ve been living in California for 58 years I just want to correct you on one thing we do have four seasons we have beautiful summers beautiful springs beautiful winters and beautiful falls I live in Northern California and we have all four seasons. One thing I wish that you would have mentioned is the pay for employment is about three times higher in California than it is in Tennessee. I get the cost of living is cheaper but our pay is about three times more so although Tennessee is cheaper the pay is so bad that making a decent living is hard. I would love to be able to Tennessee but even with cheaper rent or home prices the pay is not enough to survive. The only reason I would wanna move out of California is because we are a blue state and our governor is destroying everything about this beautiful state. I’m a conservative and it’s very difficult to live in a blue state when you believe in the Constitution and California doesn’t

      Thank you for your comment. There are definitely pay differences between TN and CA as well. Most of the clients I've worked with haven't experienced a 3X difference in their pay from CA to TN, nowhere near that actually. So hopefully it would be the same for you! If I can ever help please let me know!

    CA has four seasons. It is a vast state with many different regions. California is also cooler in the center and north, while beautifully mild in the south. TN’s four seasons are on the intense side, with extreme weather conditions such as golf ball sized hail, winds over 60 mph, flooding, high humidity, freezing temperatures, tornadoes etc. Weather in TN is also very inconsistent, with temps jumping from 28 degrees to 70 in a matter of a couple days. TN is also mostly rainy and cloudy, with spring maintaining cooler temperatures, while CA spring weather is in the 70’s. Southern California enjoys beautiful and consistent weather all year long, minus a few weeks during hot summer, when you can visit the nearby coast or mountains for cooler temps. CA enjoys most days outdoors. I think when discussing weather it is important to be a lot more specific because a lot of people may not know the fine print and it honestly is very misleading.

    I am planning to move, I am watching a lot of videos, be careful with this type of videos there a so much misinformation. California State tax is not 13%, LA cost of living is not 48% higher than Nashville (official data do not state this - if you are renting for sure LA is way higher, however for home owners not big of difference ). California taxes for incomes above than 600k is 12.8 however is a progressive bracket (Its going to be less then 12.8). Property taxes also california and Tennessee are not far a part (not 3x more in cali). If you live in tennessee rural may be yes 3x less than LA county. Anyways be careful

      We moved from CA to East TN.
      1. Although it is a red state and the "Bible Belt", the majority of people are "Religious" meaning they are bound to their Bible and have very little to do with the living God (like the Pharisees and Sadducees), we find them judgemental toward people with different views and backgrounds. For instance, if you read a Bible that is other than the KJV you will be approached with great caution and considered an outsider. I was buying fresh eggs from a woman. I later learned that her husband was a Pastor and so I told her that my husband was also a Pastor, to which she replied, "What version Bible do ya'all read, is it the KJV?" When we said this was not important and that no we didn't have that version she never sold eggs to us again. So you have "religious" people and those that repel anything to do with religion because of the hypocrisy of these "religious people".
      2. If you plan on building or renovating you will have great difficulty finding qualified tradesman.The average hourly rate is $100-$200 and higher for
      people that work the land--they are up in the $500 hr range. Make sure you have a very DETAILED contract before you hire anyone with a Time Frame of completion. They'll tell you that a handshake is all you need in TN, but that will go against you if you end up in court.They also don't show up.Very different to the building industry in CA, I know because my husband had a construction company in CA. If they get a sense you're from CA the price goes up. In CA we knew our neighbors and we found people were open minded and more free, but here the neighbors avoid one another and dislike newbies especially if you come from CA. Yes house prices and land tax are affordable but the cost of groceries and dining out are much higher compared to CA and the rain and humidity are overwhelming. This has been our experience over 2-years now.

      @@newairworldmissioncenter5385 thank you for that. I have noticed goods and services are about the same as NorCal. Fortunately, my new neighbors are amazing and they know where we came from.
      I haven’t ventured into a church yet but I’m getting a message that they are into the king James version of the Bible. We have no room in our life for people who are judge mental and profess to be such strict Christians, so if it means we don’t attend church then we don’t attend a church. We haven’t moved yet so we have a lot to learn. We are in Bristol not far from the speedway, if you’re not too far away it would be great to get together and meet.

    • @newairworldmissioncenter5385
      @newairworldmissioncenter5385 2 роки тому +1

      We are 3 hours away. Good to hear your neighbors are great. This really is a case by case experience. I suspect there are pockets of the community, neighborhoods and streets that have caring people. Sadly our neighbors are not in this group. I would also check your county animal protection laws before you move if you care and love animals like we do. We are in Cumberland County and dogs are short-chained to their dog houses for life and there are no laws against it. I just called the sherrif about a dog tied to the footing of a house, been tied up since we moved here 2 years ago. Nothing was done about it. There are 11 chained dogs in our street and the crying that goes on day and night is heartbreaking. "The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel."Proverbs 12:10 NIV. Pop on over if you're in the area.

    Yes Nashville Knoxville and Chattanooga are the three top places for people from out of state to move they have plenty of things for y'all to do they have more affordable housing for y'all and that leaves some of these smaller towns that like I live in that I was born and raised in from birth to stay small and to be someplace for y'all to come and visit like Greeneville 😅 seriously though unless you're from here you don't really want to live here there's nothing here to do for young people and there's nothing here to do for younger adults it's a place you retire when you're like in your 60s 70s and 80s 👍 I'm saying this with love I know this I didn't want to live here again we moved back here and got stuck because of the bad economy it's the only place we can afford to live right now and it's about to become unaffordable because of so many people moving in from out of state who has money to buy places and rent places without having to take out a loan because they just sold their quarter of a million dollar home. There's also a good old boy routine in Greeneville and Greene County so out of state even out of town license plates are more likely to get pulled over because they also know it's the highly trafficking drug road the 11e Andrew Johnson Highway is and that's why we have a federal courthouse here
