Same even as someone ok with NSFW. They should understand if an artist isn't interested in doing that kind of art not to try and trick them into risqué 😭

The thought of doing something risky just to be able to pay the bills has always been super scary. Thinking about the backlash from speaking out against grooming is also scary.
I literally thought saying "grooming kids is bad" would be the least controversial statement in the world but it's quickly twisted into these weird "oh so kids don't deserve coping mechanisms and support from adults??" arguments that conveniently ignore the initially stated PROBLEM 🤬
This is why money should be secondary to most things! Your dignity, health and freedom comes first! I do not blame anyone thou who are struggling so much to take more risky comissions as long as they are not harming anyone.
I 100% understand why you would take the commission of your persona, I would 100% have taken it in that situation, bills are bills man you gotta eat and have a place to stay.
Damn. Ive always heard of commission horror stories and while i personally cannot do commissions- Adhd and depression packs a punch on ya, i have done dm requests and ive never met SUCH entitlement before. I understand being impatient with me. im a slow af artist. but acting like i made some sort of blood pack with you and now i have to bend to your every whim is not something i tolerate. Also, sometimes people just... dont respect boundaries? Im just drawing your fursona, man, i dont need you to vent in graphic detail of a trauma you have. I have my own issues i have to deal with. I can usually tolerate it enough but I couldnt IMAGINE what artists that do commissions have to deal with that cant be talked about bc Mx UA-cam said so.
I get that asking for nsfw art can be somewhat embarrassing, but like, trying to hide it and then solid snake it in is just stupid and even more embarrassing for both the commissioner and the artist. Just be like "hey, i'd like to commission you for nsfw art if you do it" "Sorry, i don't feel comfortable doing that" "Understandable! Have a nice day!" Like, bruh, come on.
Twitter can be a real shit-fest, especially in the art NSFW scene. Because people are too afraid to offend anyone there with their personal quirks and fetishes (including MAP content), twitter has become a toxic and twisted 'pro-positive-eeeverything' place, a place where anything goes and anyone who dares to criticize or draw up limits and personal boundaries is considered an 'anti' within the art twitter community. This is why you ended up being unfollowed by people you considered friends and allies of your work. :c By simply disagreeing with a type of NSFW art content (pro-MAP art, in this case), you automatically got labeled an 'anti'. It's seriously fucked up. A lotta artists in twitter are too self-absorbed in their work to ever acknowledge the type of messages they're sending out to their audience through their work, whether by intention or not. Now, I'm not suggesting artists become Puritans and avoid taboo topics or NSFW work. But we should at least be mindful of what we're creating and putting out into the world. I've heard all sorts of excuses used to justify risque art containing kid characters, namely that these are fictional characters and no one is being harmed. Yet, art intent (or 'art function') still matters. If NSFW art is specifically designed to arouse the senses in the same way porn does, then we have no choice but to consider the INTENT and message of art depicting kid characters in sexual situations. What is its 'intended' function? The answer to that is obvious. It doesn't matter if those children are fictional, Pro-MAP content still exists to sexually arouse its viewers through the depictions of children. It is as vulgar and harmful as a pro-racist comic celebrating the illustrative depictions of a person of color being burned alive. If we as a society don't tolerate pro-racist, pro-sexist depictions and messages in our art, then I feel it's extremely contradictory (and totally fucked up) that we've somehow made an exemption to pro-MAP art.
I had a commissioner that would ask me for updates and progress every. day. every day. For a week. This was during my finals, so I had my hands full with learning and other commissions. I had to tell them every time that I am on it and working on it and I will update them when I make new progress (which I did). They also didn’t pay me yet; in addition I charged 10 bucks. It’s not gonna get done in 3 days :). Sometimes people have no chill and are unnecessarily annoying
I hate to commision for bridal or wedding purposes bcz they want realistic styled artwork and when i do it they say make the hair look more nice, curled, make it look thin, and remove excess fat, add jewelry, fix the big nose. Yep thats realistic for them
Your purple persona character is super cute, and I just wanted to say that I think your style is awesome! I hope I can come up with some of my own that I'm as happy with one of these days :)

I can't wait until I save up enough to commission from you again though! It was nothing too bad but God did I hate every second of it as someone who else got groomed as a teen like, I sadly do have a nsfw account because let's face it weirdos will practically pay anything for their fet art.
I understand this video is over a year old but I just wanted to comment anyhow. You have a stellar style, and I really enjoy how this video was edited and produced, definitely earned a subscriber. As someone who recently started accepting NSFW commissions (out of desperation) the last story made me so sad, I couldn't blame or shame you for having to accept such a discomforting order because I do understand and empathize with your situation greatly. I was worried they were trying to commission something illegal or very problematic, but that doesn't lesson how badly that must've been to deal with. I do hope you're in a better place, and will never have to be forced to breach your own boundaries to get the bills paid. And their response? (And seriously, how the hell is your take controversial? Then again Twitter is a cesspool) Horrifying and repulsive, glad they're no longer a client of yours, but again I can't say I wouldn't do the same if it came down to it.

I started doing art as a hobby for 2 years and learning fundamentals. I always liked to draw sexy women (like in boudoir photography but anime style), but at the same time I like to draw some sfw, because I think that gives me more freedom to chose what kind of drawings I could do (fantasy, clothes, action. etc.). This month I decided to open commission nsfw with some rules. Still tough, didn`t expect that some people asked for some weeiirrrd shieet. And I don`t know if its normal that the costumer gives you a sketch of what he wants. Why would you want me to draw something you already did? Anyways, I am still happy that my costumers paid me, because this the first time someone pay me for a hobby I love doing.
As a armature artist who already struggles with getting in the proper art routine, such nastiness like this on top of that is one of many things that make my worry about getting into art more seriously. And as someone who has been on Twitter for the longest time, even now it's not any better with it's influx of nasty people.
That situation is super tough… especially when you’re hella attached to your persona. I mean… it’s YOU… but desperate times come with desperate measures. I’d do it too… And then bury it deep in my mind clear my history clear everything fml but hey my bills are paid!
not on topic for the conversation but I like how u do the silhouette of the image/person first instead of sketching as most do! It's a really cool technique I might try out next time I do a digital drawing!
This should be lesson to every person and they should FINALLY learn it! NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING! Simply being available for clients to reach you to politely ask about the comission is fine but artists are not robots! If you pressure them they will mess up the art! Just be patient and treat others as you wish to be treated! Also the refund scam HOLY! I do not know what sites or apps you use to transfer money but i am on PayPal and it only takes 24 hours on week days to transfer my money. Also i ALWAYS do invoices so if they try to ask the money back they come across some legal evidence that they have agreed to pay the money so they can not just take it back! PayPal took my side multiple times in these!
I think I was up front with my fairy when I got her commed a long time ago. I think she fit in line with the whole sfw image, not too fetishy, but the character was one that was used for NSFW reasons. Don't remember how that one went exactly
I'm a artist and I find fetish stuff really ew also pregnancy art makes me very uncomfortable because they aren't wholesome they are downright weird now some can be very wholesome but when you make every character or oc pregnant that is where I draw the line
I think a lot of fet can be wholesome and enjoyable on more levels than to simply titillate, but fet mining is a hard line for me. if someone's being commissioned to draw it they need to know and consent from the get go
@@Puddle yeah I'm a sfw artist and this was really long ago but someone wanted me to draw my oc naked and pregnant not in the art type way the really creepy way
I am a new artist especially to digital art and I don’t do coms but rather requests at free so there wouldn’t be any promise of a great result so one day a person request a three page comic and I realised that this was way over my league and I am not always drawing becuz I have a life outside which made me guilt trip myself and try to finish the work ASAP and I had never drawn comics nor projects with characters of more than 3 which this had that and 8 characters. I finished the lineart but the person with the free request said the work looked nothing like the reference and now I just had a feeling of guilt coming over me when I realised that I just couldn’t get myself to colour the lineart
I don’t know if I’m in the wrong or right but I feel guilty for not being able to do this free request of a comic when I should’ve in the beginning say that I couldn’t
never feel bad about a free request lol. it's free. you don't owe them anything. I know in the beginning every interaction with your art feels intense and it's easy to fall into emotional pitfalls with free requests- but I promise in a year you're gonna be laughing about this one. 3 pages of free labor is ridiculous to expect from someone lol
Wow ya the speed paints been done in real time? That's ridiculous. I am going to be honest but I don't have that view anymore but if you had asked me 15 years ago I would have said 30 dollars (usd) would only be ok if it's high quality and you really like the artist's styles. The last scenario is very hard cos when you need money but that not just morally dubious but it's very personal. Don't think I would have done it either but can understand the temptation.
honestly art is a luxury purchase but the artists are paying bills, so it makes sense- it's taken some significant societal shifting to accept artists deserve a livable income when they're pouring hours into work lol
@@Puddle I think it was when I started learning a trade and Thought " anyone can do this" but also realize that I still wanted paying even if the person paying could do it. And realized that that's the same for artists and maybe they deserved more since I could not even attempt what they do.
"To which they complained that it shouldn't take 2 days to finish a 4 character piece" Meanwhile me over here who can barely finish a 2 character piece in a week :') Also, I know Twitter can be absolute bs when it comes to serious topics but..... why tf is "Adults shouldn't groom minors into making them nsfw art" controversial? Hello?! It should be *obvious* why it's bad 😭
how do they do chargebacks? in bank you can close this option as far as i know so people cant take their money on their own ...or am i wrong? when i shop online i can't return money by myself only can ask for refund...is it bad only with paypal that people can charge back on their own? i have a child to feed so i know also the struggle of having to care of yourself alone as well
I have only ever had to invoike the excessive changes rule once and it was defiantly a fetish thing. I'm not going to kink shame and say exactly what it was but after every iteration it was “can you make X bigger.” “If X was any bigger this character would be crushed under the weight of the massive X.” and no its was not boobs nor was it a sausage. But after 4 or 5 iterations I told them that enough was enough. I had a commission quite recently where I accepter the commission at night and told them I would get started in the morning. They then told me that discod said I was playing a game and that why am I playing games when I have work too do. I immediately gave them their money back. That's a big red flag for me. I don't want to be hounded for the duration of work
I swapped of to my fet account just to comment(yay double views!~) i would 100% recommend having a seperate nsfw account, i have never ever had a creepy or uncomfortable comissioner while doing fet stuff. Most of it may have to do with luck of the draw, but i sincerely think that its because everyone who asks me for coms just accepts and understands that I openly do fet stuff and is therefore not sneaky about it. it might also have to do with the feet community, being arguably the most surface level and widely known fet there is. Once you get into my categories all shame goes out the window and before you know it you have drawn things youve only seen in nightmares for the jollies of someone you hope you'll never meet irl XD and i 100% agree with your decision to make nsfw stuff of your persona. if i was single id do it for funsies, but being in a relationship would make it feel too scandelous i think . im sure my boyfriend wouldnt appreciate it XD
yeah you'd think OFFERING fet comms would deter people from playing coy, but if anything I've found that it causes people to neglect to mention the (very much necessary) obvious 😅

Also i ALWAYS do invoices so if they try to ask the money back they come across some legal evidence that they have agreed to pay the money so they can not just take it back! PayPal took my side multiple times in these!
invoicing is the way to go!!!
Your channel is really underrated, new sub :))
thank you so much!!
Honestly, with that NSFW story, I would have charged more for alterations to the final product. No way can they disrespect your time like that.
Wow Koda that's crazy.😱
😋
I think I was up front with my fairy when I got her commed a long time ago. I think she fit in line with the whole sfw image, not too fetishy, but the character was one that was used for NSFW reasons. Don't remember how that one went exactly
your comm was fine! I was a bit surprised of her source page and couldn't link when I published it (bc nsfw) but yeah your commission was fine! lol
I tryed doing comminsions before but none customers were good enough lol
LOL
I'm a artist and I find fetish stuff really ew also pregnancy art makes me very uncomfortable because they aren't wholesome they are downright weird now some can be very wholesome but when you make every character or oc pregnant that is where I draw the line
I think a lot of fet can be wholesome and enjoyable on more levels than to simply titillate, but fet mining is a hard line for me. if someone's being commissioned to draw it they need to know and consent from the get go
@@Puddle yeah I'm a sfw artist and this was really long ago but someone wanted me to draw my oc naked and pregnant not in the art type way the really creepy way
This was my step to setting my boundaries because NSFW artist are not a problem it's the creeps who are the real problem
Ooff to that last story
Man... stupidy on a whole other level!! AAAAHAHAHAHAHAH! I am talking about he real time story... Help those brains!
3 pages of free labor is ridiculous to expect from someone lol
damn that is not okayyy
it's vom worthy in some cases
@@Puddle I think it was when I started learning a trade and
Thought " anyone can do this" but also realize that I still wanted paying even if the person paying could do it. And realized that that's the same for artists and maybe they deserved more since I could not even attempt what they do.
"To which they complained that it shouldn't take 2 days to finish a 4 character piece"
Meanwhile me over here who can barely finish a 2 character piece in a week :')
Also, I know Twitter can be absolute bs when it comes to serious topics but..... why tf is "Adults shouldn't groom minors into making them nsfw art" controversial? Hello?! It should be *obvious* why it's bad 😭
how do they do chargebacks? in bank you can close this option as far as i know so people cant take their money on their own ...or am i wrong? when i shop online i can't return money by myself only can ask for refund...is it bad only with paypal that people can charge back on their own? i have a child to feed so i know also the struggle of having to care of yourself alone as well
it's usually via a third-party vender like PayPal or Venmo - also a lot of sites preset shipping as mandatory, even for digital goods :/ it's stinky
I don't want to be hounded for the duration of work
im not a talented artist but want to do commissions, any tips?
practice start prices low and if you get a lot raise it
I just found you.... And I like your content!
aaa thank you so much!!!
Oh God I can relate 😫
9:19 Hey as long as the cheque clears that's all that matters ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But I'm an NSFW artist to begin with, so your mileage may vary.
How did we get to the point where people defend depicting kids in nsfw content?
Because sadly that's the truth
video is very pog. im subscribing
Your persona looks so damn cute and nice.
thank you, that's so kind !!
@@Puddle no problem 😌
blank the blank lol
Has anyone asked you to draw an oc that is actually a puddle?

Oh cool
Comment regardless because of algorithm.

He thought you painted that fast in the speed paint WHEEEZE
Bruh if you painted that fast tho I think your hand would break off if it hited max speed
little Joke tho Imagine painting that fast tho
Seriously tho I do feel bad that you had to deal with that in a tight spot in your life
carpal tunnel any%
@@Puddle yes
I mean I am an artist I mean Im kinda good but I know it doesn't Take 2 day to draw something it take about a good 7 days or even more depending on how detail it is....that guy should read about art.....
unless it personal draw than it depends how much effort your putting into it everyday if it personal
But still IT TAKE A good while
puddle artsona cute
thank you!!
woooooow o,o
boost
I like ur hat
:)
:)
Sad to say but I’ve sold risky ones of my personas for bills too… 😅😅😅 It’s usually good money but the feeling of guilt and blehhhhh. This is someone that doesn’t really mind doing n- s- f. w art but for own persona it just felt different.
How horrible. Big yikes.
On the second I’d nope out there real quick. (I also only do sfw, and fully willing to commit to not crossing my set bounds even in extraneous surcumstance) it is understandable though following through with the commissions. 🫡
