Fun fact: the 20 minutes it took to play through this in the video is about 20 times longer than the Libyan jet survived against the F14 in the real life mission Top Gun's final battle was based on 😂
This game was instrumental in obliterating my cousin's high flying self-esteem during our pre-teen ages. Watching that sidewinder and bullets fly into cousin's virtual jet was most satisfying!
@@TheBoxGamePL yes, but that game came out 16 years later - originally it's a C64 piece of music. It also seems to have other Martin Galway music as they used Wizball from the C64 on the title screen before the game loads.
had this one. dont know how much play it got tho, no memories except opening screen and take off. i seem to remember it played smoother than this tho, not sure
This is also the base for the MS-DOS version, which is also as bad as this one. Unlike this C64 version, the title screen music is a PC Speaker rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner." (which can have its note sustained if the player didn't let the tune finish)
Um... lots of beeping, which I guess is the missile lock on alert, wireframes of MiG 25's that are supposed to be F-14's, More beeping, Fighter jets jiving out, Excessive beeping, triangles just floating around, just too much beeping, and apparently the games ends with no conclusion of what happened.

Probably the first ever ocean loader banger I heard as a kid.
Just in time for Top Gun: Maverick to *FINALLY* come out, huh?
7:30 that classic simple "sparky" explosion kaboom!
My buddy & I set up a cardboard partition to separate screens. Good times!!
OK so the music isn't from the film, but it's still awesome!
The title screen song is basically the song for Level 1 of Jurassic Park on the NES and Game Boy.
no - the tune is from a game called Comic Bakery on the C64 in 1986 written by Martin Galway which has been re-used.
Vector style graphics are pretty cool for the time.
I could swear I have heard this music in another game... or maybe it was just labeled wrong in the SID collection. Any guesses?
I think it's from Cosmic Bakery.
If only this game had original music
At least they picked a good choice to reuse music from
I don't know why, but the reuse of the Comic Bakery theme is really funny to me
They re-used the theme for Jurassic Park on the Game Boy too
That's fucken terrible even for Ocean's 80s standards
its the same music of another 8 bit game or is bad memory?
Platypus Music Level 1

@@rwxdesigns yeah but that music was level 1 in platypus on the pc version.

The opening song is from jurassic Park nes.
And I thought the NES game was rough.
0:15 - Yeah man, but the title music!
Hey, can I ask you a silly question?
What the hell is going on here?
Um... lots of beeping, which I guess is the missile lock on alert, wireframes of MiG 25's that are supposed to be F-14's, More beeping, Fighter jets jiving out, Excessive beeping, triangles just floating around, just too much beeping, and apparently the games ends with no conclusion of what happened.

The music!!
Everything was so much fun when games sounded like this and all electronics had fake wood accents.
They recycled the music for Jurassic Park on the game boy.
🤙
