Looks like a well designed printer. I know nothing of 3D printing, but will follow your lead. Thanks for posting!

Give me a few weeks and I'll have a better idea. Better built and easier assembly is all I can say now.

how do you like it Sir Andrew I had the reel holder on top took it off because on large prints it shook a lot and made one that holds multiple reels its nice if you want to switch out reels on the fly
hope all is well with you and your family Take Care

Now I am sad that I bought 100€ cheapy on eBay with lots of missing parts, a seller is no longer a member and now all stores are closed so I am unable to DIY finish build.

Have they tried 3-D printing on the Space Station? Is micro-gravity a good thing, a bad thing, or just a thing?

Possums are tough. A few years ago,I noticed one that had half its face hanging off after a fight I presume. I couldn't catch him but could watch him sulking in his nest which was in my roller door. Apart from a nice scar, he's fine

Ours didn't survive unfortunately, but the young one might be big enough to live on.

i have just received my printer too, but i'm not able to make it work properly ç_ç i can just print what's already inside the sd card. Ultimaker cura doesn't work properly for me.

Cura doesn't work well to drive the printer directly apparently, but it's best for slicing. Have to use Reptier if you want to connect via USB

Try OctoPrint Andrew. It’s worth it’s weight in gold. No more SD card and I can watch my prints from the living room. Picked up a bad first layers on a 7 hour print with a glance at my Mac. Can help you set it up if you want. Just needs a Raspberry Pi. This video from Teaching Tech explains it - ua-cam.com/video/SvZjNSLXAJc/v-deo.html

If it's Wifi controlled it won't work for me. No reception down in the shed.

The Anet A8 came out when I was shopping for a 3D printer. It didn't fare very well in reviews... as a result, I am a contented Ender 3 owner. I have to admit however, this is a really nice looking printer! It will be interesting to see the print results. One thing I pondered on in your review, was the belt tension; what you have there is similar to the tensions I started with on my Ender 3. After watching one of Chuck Hellebuyck's videos (his channel is called "Chep", link below) I cranked up the belt tension. This simple act gave me the best improvement in print quality of anything I have tried. I guess this would accellerate belt wear, but they do not cost too much... swings and roundabouts I guess. Food for thought?
Thanks for a useful video, as always.
