Be careful. I sprayed my tomato plant with vinegar. Within an hour the whole plant looked like a soggy salad. All the leaves and stems turned mushy. It looked like a hard frost had gotten the plant. The plant died. I guess it’s no wonder vinegar is used as an herbicide.

Yeah you definitely don’t want to use pure vinegar for this. That will absolutely kill your plant, particularly if it’s still young and not hardened off yet. if you watch my video, i suggested a ratio of 2 tbsp (tablespoons) of vinegar (I prefer apple cider vinegar for this but you can use white vinegar too) to between 750ml - 1L of water, so that’s a 30 ml : 1L ratio. (.03 : 1).
This method still works fine, but there’s nothing there to emulsify the solution so it doesn’t stick to the leaves. The last couple of years, I prefer the baking soda solution method. I’ll post a new update video when we get into tomato season. 🍅😉

@@theproppist , my plant was quite large and fruiting. But yes I used full strength vinegar. I didn’t research it prior. It was just an idea I had and so I decided to experiment. I didn’t know at the time that vinegar was used to kill unwanted plants lol.

Oh man! That is really unfortunate. But to be fair, I’ve killed my share of plants (lol, you have no idea) - you live, you learn. 🤷🏽‍♂️
A couple of years back I missed the first frost in my area by *one night* (accidentally - we had an unexpected overnight frost in mid-late October, which is pretty rare where I live) and lost half my crop of still unripe green tomatoes. Last year I was better prepared and harvested all the green tomatoes I had left a good week before I would normally have and put them in paper bags in my kitchen. I managed to have tomatoes ripen all winter and past New Year that were still edible, which was super cool. I’ll have to make a video about that this year, so thanks for jogging my memory! 🧠👌🏼
