Oh my goodness, this older video popped up so I decided to watch! You’re daughter telling you that you’re doing a good job was absolutely adorable. Amazing you have these for them to look back on. ❤️
Admire how you just fix things the way you like, and watch your costs doing it. The caulking really gave the room a much more finished look. The doors looked like most old mobile home doors, until you made them look new again. Great job!
I live in an old 1991 mobile home. I bought it used, it had the original wall paper with lovely purple irises on everything! YUCK!!! It even had glass insets with irises on the cabinet doors in the kitchen. I didn't have any money to replace them so I Kilzed them and painted over them. You can't really notice the flowers unless you get close and look for it. Also, in my home there were mirrors EVERYWHERE! At first I was worried that they were glued to the wall and that it would mess the walls up if I took them down. One day I got really brave and took the molding off on one side and realized they were only held up by the molding. Don't know if they are all that way but just a tip for anyone who needs it. I have done lots of work on this home and have more to do but I am SO THANKFUL for my home.
I love your energy. We were given an 8 year old trailer for free and we’re living in it while we save for some land and I need to fix it up some ( but hey, it was free ) paint is such a great way to change it up on the cheap. We’re doing a plexiglass backsplash and painting all the fixtures as well. We’re making concrete countertops and doing it all ourselves, while putting in gardens and solar panels ( which my husband also made). Y’all are adorable and I like your energy. I wish y’all an abundant life and wish you well on your life’s journey. Namaste 🙏🏼
It took 3 coats of white paint to cover my dark walnut mobile home doors, and I used a primer/paint. It was worth it though, what an amazing difference. Good job!
That moment when your sweet angel told you : “you’re doing a great job mommy” just melted my heart ❤️ our little ones knows exactly when to tell us something that we really need to hear 🤗 and yes.. you did a great job 🥰
Really love all of your abilities, and talents Karrie, your attitude, your gratitude, you're often simple approach to make things better! Looking beautiful!!!
You are a rockstar! You also remind me a lot of myself & my hubby. We’ve been married for over 31 years & we have always been the same way about projects. We don’t mind putting in the work to make something how we want it to be. Of course you can save a ton of money by doing your own projects too. Keep up the good work!
Great job! I live in a single wide that is about 40ish years old and maintenance has been neglected quite a bit. Just replaced the guts of the electrical panel (do that every 20 yrs folks) and have been painting my behind off in nearly every room to update the look of it all. Replacing subfloor is next because it does wear out over time... Great job on the caulking, that's a cool tip I hadn't thought of yet! And despite the paint on you and "sweating" you still look beautiful!
I've been looking for some doing this kind of video (with this much explanation) for WEEKS! 😅 I finally came across this... Now I'm scrolling through your content to find more. TYSM! ❤
Great Job! 1 tip for you, I use the same caulk from DG for my trailer as well. FYI after time it does yellow a bit so once its totally dry you might consider painting over it...
I live in a mobile home too and had never thought to paint the doors. I guess I just assumed the paint wouldn't stick because of the material of the doors. It totally changed the look of your room! I feel like we are forever cleaning our underpinning too. Great idea on how to use the caulk to fill the gaps. You rock!
I own my home as well a blessing from God I have been working on it 4yrs now. It's coming along nicely I hate when people call it a mobile home it's a 🏡 and it's what you make it keep up the good work you go girl!
Hi girlfriend, What a change it makes when you do little things to make the home look nice. Your daughter is so, cute and sweet helping Mom out. It’s cute to see them riding. Doors turned out great. Have a great night. Stay safe. God Bless and family too!! Xo 😘
Your little girl is so sweet!b I loved "Your''e doing a wonderful job!" What a sweetheart!Lookin good! The cauking is a GREAT idea, I'm going to try it!
I live in a single wide as well and doors are expensivs especially when there are so many we have 9 doors and were planning buying new but i decided to try and paint them and it looks just like they are new. Especially if you add some trim to spruce them up definitely alot cheaper than paying $30 per door. Weve been working on updating our home as well.
Lynn, The doors are called LUAN doors, my Parents had these doors in their split level home, they painted theirs too. Looks Great! Yes they always need a primer coat then 1-2 coats of paint to cover best. Rust oleum works great on door knobs.
😮 I am in the process of repainting and repairing my mom's trailer to get it looking better and I agree that caulking tip will help alot and the using a spare trash bag to be the paint liner. I would not have thought about that!
enjoyed the video! Looks like you have some work on your hands! I loved that your daughter was helping! I like the idea of putting some flowers in the tree stump. there are some really creative ideas floating around! I am struggling right now with where to put some of the perennials that we bought. So inspiration...
Well done! If you “install” your knobs (works for doors, cabinets, drawer pulls, everything lol) on an upside down cardboard box, they’re soooo much easier to paint. :)
The vertical wall strips trailer companies put between panels can be removed, and filled with caulk. In our mobile home we did this, put sizing on the wall and wallpapered. It was a beautiful nursery with the wallpaper
Yall are doing a awesome job..i love the way youre loving your home the same way as a house on a foundation ..thats gratitude and it shows cuz it so beautiful
What a difference a coat of paint can make! And your little helper was so encouraging..."You're doing great, Mom"....new subbie, and loving your channel!
I just found your videos. And I have to say, YOURE SO RELATABLE. This are the videos I love! ❤️❤️ woman encouraging other woman on what they can do on a budget. For those of us who actually live on a budget. ❤️❤️ so much love sent! Whenever I was watching your video my daughter kept saying whose that little girl mommy can she be my new friend lol.
❤ this. Just getting it done. Ive done that. Its time consuming to take off doors to paint. As long as your careful i just keave them on as well. This goes for kitchen cabinets. Also the baby wipe ideas for calking is genius. Im totally going to try that. Looks great !
Good job ‼️ I have mobile home doors also Good idea on the trash bag on paint tray👍‼️also a good idea i discovered.. if you want to paint out of the can itself, the tops off the ready made cakes you can buy like at Sam’s etc...Just set the can down in the lid...😀🌸
I've been renovating my mobile home too and what I've learned is sometimes you do what works for you and what's non conventional. I know people cringe with my vids lol but its works for us lol.
So glad I found you on UA-cam! I’ve got a mobile home also and desperately need some ideas and I LOVE what you’ve done with yours!! I’m gonna try that caulking idea for my house!!
Caulk is my best friend in a mobile home too. 😂👍🏼 I also need to scrub my skirting. 😬 And paint doors. Yay for your door painting assistant! So cute when little ones get involved!
I usually dont keep that on hand because I swear it works against me 😂 but that's a great idea and it's cheap 👏 I still have two doors left 😭 I procrastinated again haha
When it comes to caulking, best advice I can give as a 20+ year contractor, do it however works the best for you. I've tried several different ways and tools, and it's still not my favorite thing to do lol.
Such great teamwork & sweet daughter saying you’re doing a wonderful job, plus she’s helping. Good job both outside and inside. I think you’re the only one on the YT that has a trailer, I do too, so we have that in common. Anyway enjoyed your video, TFS 👍🏻👍🏻❤️🤗💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👵🏼
I have a mobile home too and it is about to go through a huge remodel. New flooring, furniture, paint, appliances, etc. Just a quick tip....when painting a mobile home Killz (I think that is how you spell it) is your best friend. 1 coat and you wont need as many coats of paint. We painted our wallpapered walls about 7 years ago and it still looks good and we used 1 coat of killz and 1 coat of paint. Saves money too. Your house looks great.
Whatever way it works best for you is the way to go. I commend you for wanting to have your home the best it can be. Hard work pays off.i don't know if you used a product called No Sand...it might help in not having to put so many coats plus it helps the paint to adhere to the doors. Awesome looking. Keep up the good work.
Also check around your MH windows for gaps n caulk there- but those areas really need a high quality caulk. Worth the cost to last YEARS longer in those areas. Oh yeah, under sinks too!
nice job on the door for the closet. We replaced the with bifold accordion doors. it frees up a lot of space. the change really nice, more space ..those doors are ez to install and cost is very very low
I’m 70 just bought my mobile home, painting everything. Doors are tough. Did mine. Your little girl is a doll & she’s right wonderful job💕👏
Youre an awesome Mom! Teach them how to work early. Good ideas. I will use them.

I like how you smooth out the caulking after you applied it! I'll keep that in mind. Great Tip! TY!
I think it's super awesome that you let your daughter help

Same here Stacy 30 years always have worked our ass off to make our house a home!
The doors look so AMAZING. Huge difference. Genius idea. The babies just make everything awesome.
Iam amazed that you don't have paint all over you,and that you paint in nice black clothes great job!
The baby wife was a genius idea. They're good for so many things.
Too sweet "you're doing a wonderful job"!! What a little doll.

What a big change painting the doors made 😍
Your daughter is so adorable. Beautiful memories. God bless you.
It's amazing what a little paint and caulking can do! Looks great!🙂
I use to let my children paint with me at that age & they still enjoy painting... Great parenting time💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
That caulking is a great idea! I'm sure that helps make the home's HVAC more efficient and helps keep out pests, too.
I was going to comment the same thing!!
Yes that's excellent does it ever make a difference wow very nice
Painting the doors really modernizes

I don’t use a trash bag in between. I use Press n Seal over my tray, roller, and brushes. Keeps them from drying out for daysss!!!
I usually dont keep that on hand because I swear it works against me 😂 but that's a great idea and it's cheap 👏 I still have two doors left 😭 I procrastinated again haha
BudgetFam That should be our collab. Projects we procrastinated on in our mobile home. 😬👌🏼

what great heart and energy you have! Thank you for showing your strong work ethic...it inspires me!

It’s beautiful your backyard.
Use Kilz before painting the doors , then you would not need so many coats.
