"I was very amazed by his ninety-odd Rolls-Royces. I think that's perhaps the grandest joke ever played on consumerism and materialism. From what I understand of him and his teachings, he had no particular interest in those cars whatsoever. It was a teaching; it was a modern day analogy to...a modern day equivalent to one of Jesus' parables. He used that as an illustration of how absurd the religion of the dollar, of money and materialism really are."

Considering the 112 ways of realization in the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra (a text Osho analyzes in depth in “The Book of Secrets”) … There’s devotional technique as well as intellectual techniques. The followers of Osho were all different kinds of people. Not most of them being one of these “few intellectuals” you created here. He appeals to people looking for the silent internal space. Be more careful and precise about your words. Especially when trying to simplify a teacher who can’t be simplified.

@@sanjuro0010 I have been uneployed now for a year, after a (ungoing) health challence, I feel you. People keep saying there are resources, but I haven´t been able to get to them for 13 months.. But sunshine is free. Food´s pretty cheap, even though the cost of being anywhere is huge.. And it will make you happier in the long run to learn to do without things. It is hard not to let your self worth be expressed in economical terms, not to be a bit jealous, but I found making my moment as short as I can helps. Are you physically okay until the next time you breath in? Then let your mind reside in that tiny bubble of time, where you are safe.. Only come out when you have to. Don´t engage with narratives of loss. Like a submarine looking through the periscope to plan out the course, look around in deeper time, plan, then retract the periscope, back to now... The narrative of your life can yield information, but if it results in mourning to do about lost faculties, like money, like luxuries, like health, you still feel you cannot do without.. do it in the bubble, don´t stay out there. There is no need. And always try to have enough to be able to share. Sharing will make you feel rich, even if all you have is a smile.
And remember, all this is a great opportuniyt for what is called ego-death.. if you are feeling like suicide, that might be the prefereable option.

This aint true. Its not loving it. But poverty is needed for the devotee sometimes. Having is the language of the ego. As far as the ego is concerned poverty makes it humble. You can see this around the world

What you do with it is what matters as it is a tool.
You can waste it or use it to create good things.
Feed, educate and house people not to include medical and dental services.
Ego has nothing to do with money.
Ego is attitude of self importance over others.

Many poor still think their better than others and know more. The still gossip and back stab. Still stir the pot and are busy bodies.

What a blessing to see his talks and teachings growing in popularity more and more each day. He is amazing. I was a young man when Rajneeshpuram was all the news, and I remember the biased news coverage. They talked about everything EXCEPT his teachings, and then almost always out of context. I am so glad I am not the gullible news comsumer I was in the 1980s, worried about his cars and watch, and never hearing the beauty of his voice and his teachings. I watch his videos every day.

It seems Osho created some unconventional stuff such as guru/sanyasi having rolls, diamond watches, sambhog se samadhi to draw people towards him and experience the wisdom he had share. I don't think Osho saw rolls, diamond watches, sex as the way we relate to it. Sheela misused his name.
All humans can be manipulated even OSHO. That's what I have learned. It's a human quality. One we all possess.
