holy crap that was fast lol. you're good!!!! wish my success rate was as good as yours. i buy burpee seeds from target and they take like half a month to be where your basils are in two days lol
How's she goin'? Sorry for not dropping by more regular Pascal but for some reason or another I was missing your posts. Wow you have yourself a load of Basil there buddy!!! It must be good to be able to grow nearly anything in your climate eh!!! Our growing season is maybe 3 or 4 months long and even then we are risking frost damage. Thanks of sharing and take care!!
Hi Mike. Thank you for dropping in. Sorry have not been you tubing much since covid. Just started to make a small sail boat. Will put on the other channel (Irish Chippy). Will check out your bandsaw later.
over here we have them growing in the wild, and we have very little rain yearly but long sunny hot days. i make thea of the leaves, and the plants leaves give a nice odor
It would grow wild here if I let it, but the video was made to help people grow it in climates with seasons. Will try to make tulsi tea. Thank you for watching
what Ph level should the soil be? In the summer I was able to grow the sweet basil and was so happy. They’re old now so I may need to plant more. I want to taste the Tulsi and Thai basil but not so successful during this rainy season.
Basil is not fussy regarding ph, although 6.0 is considered ideal. If there is heavy rain on your seed tray that would not be good. They do not need light until they germinate, so you could leave them under a shelter. When they sprout up the do need sun. Basil loves sun.
@@growNglow Thanks. We haven’t seen much sun here in Manila for 3 weeks and my Tulsi seedlings died already. I will copy what you did with your Ramgo seeds and grow them inside with artificial lights temporarily. Thanks for the advice.
where are you? Do they grow well in, say, northern Illinois? By the way, I was taught by an old master gardener that you always want to water seedlings with warm water--not quite hot but not far from it. Cold water slows down development....which is not to say that you are not a mater gardener yourself.
I am in Southern Leyte, The Philippines. I am not sure if they would withstand the winter up there near the great lakes, but you can certainly grow in the summer, and even bring indoors during the fall. You can also propagate cuttings in water. They root out in 5 days. Water is not cold here. Thank you for watching.
If you want to grow Tulsi in Northern Illinois, here are some tips: 1. Get a small plant from somewhere to begin with. 2. Outdoor times- Between Mid June to mid September. Bring them indoors in mid September 3. keep tulsi on a window sill where you get plenty of sunshine but have NO heat vent. Hot air from vents kill Tulsi. 4. If you don’t have any window where sunshine comes or have heat vents near it, best to buy plant grow bulb and keep it 8-12” over the tulsi plant. 5. No matter if the weather gets better or over 80 in May, DO NOT PUT TULSI OUT BEFORE JUNE. It’s a delicate plant and needs love. Good luck.
thanks sir it helped me for my school project
That is very good to hear. Thank you for watching

In London when is seeding tulsi seeds
I have not lived in London for 35 years. I would imagine you should sow the seeds indoors next month (April).
Wow that's a lot! Ramgo seeds really have high germination rate, wish I was near so I can buy a couple of holy basil from you.
Yes, thank you for watching
Same here. I envy people that successfully grow from seeds.

@@growNglow With all the rains I just learned that they don’t like to much water haha. Thanks again.
@@insasiable We have had no rain here for more than 3 weeks.
Nice. It’s Tulsi n it’s Holy. We use it on daily basis n in Hindus pooja

What is the ph for holy basil to grow? Thanks 🙏
As far as I know it is called 'banal na basil' in Tagalog. Thank you for watching
Holy basil is actually fine when it goes to seed. Its flavour is still divine. It’s different in this way than other Basil’s 😁
I feel it is much better when young and fresh. Thank you for watching

@@01Sunshine234 Thanks for this information. I may have another go at it this season.
I don’t know why you say you can’t use it like regular basil? I make pesto out of my holy basil all the time. It’s really good!
Of course you can use it what way you like. I was merely pointing out that it tastes different. Thank you for watching
why not put them in warm water? Are they not encased in a hard shell?
The water is tepid, but you could use hot to soften the seed skin. Thank you for watching
Eat lots of Tulsi....
U have abundance.
Yes we do. Too much. Thank you for watching.
Mmmm, just harvest it all and dry it! :)
Haha. No need. It grows all year round here. Thank you for watching
