My lovely wife got me a Special Edition for our wedding a couple of years ago - stabilised chestnut. Very nice to add liners to the standard model, also think poppers on the straps are a definite improvement over the Velcro.
I love the tbs folder boar, got burr ,micarta and stag. Ive yet to sharpen one and I've really used the micarta one lots of carving seasoned and unseasoned hard woods.
I have the TBS Boar, I believe it's the Mark one in N695 Steel, 5mm thick. My question is on the heat treatment of the blade. What is your heat treatment process? I've carried this knife for a number of years as an everyday carry on the front in a scout position if you will, as I am right handed and and it would be quick deployment if needed. I got the right handed sheath but wanted to carry on the back in true scout form and was wondering if when using my right hand to reach behind my back, should I have gotten the left handed sheath? Wondered that for the last 3 yrs. My knife I got with curly birch but not stabilized which I reject not getting. I think I would have liked the new version of sheaths without the velco. Love the knife and it looks great but I think 5mil was a little too thick. When I got the knife the pamphlet said not to Baton with it, Any particular reason that is? My knife also came with the Ferro rod and sharpening stone. That was a great bonus because it's all right there when you need it and don't have to look through your pack to find it. I did end up getting a small nick a few mil away from the tip. I wasn't too happy about that but I have corrected it. That and the Baton method are the reasons i'm asking about the heat treatment process, plus i'm interested in starting to make knives. Thank-you.
@@TheBushcraftStorecom that would be epic i was devastated so glad I had my tbs folder on my belt.. Thanks again I will contact you via Instagram buddy your a star
I'm loving the Badger only thing I would change would be the liners the ones on are ace like the rest of the knife but white ones would look more Badger like lol on the black Micarta version
Maybe, it is about the same size. We have the Joker Bushlore in stock which is the same knife as they used to make the Lars Falt for Casstrom so you could ring the shop (020 83673420) and they could check for you.
The Multi Carry Sheath is available in left and right handed versions and are available now. The Full Flap version of the sheath is currently only available in a right handed version. www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk/mk-ii-tbs-leather-multi-carry-knife-sheath-50718-p.asp
The Bushcraft Store Thanks for the quick reply. I actually meant the 'Full-Flap' version of the sheath, but got the naming wrong. Do you know if a left handed version of the Full-Flap is planned? Or are you trying to estimate the market acceptance of the new design first (would make sense to me)
Alexander Gutfeldt We would like to make one but, as you say, I just need to gauge the popularity of it. We have another, ambidextrous sheath, being made and we think it will be very popular so we will make a decision after we get that ready
I want one of these but I don't know which sheath to choose. Does the knife stay in the sheath on the full flap sheath from friction or is it solely the flap itself?
Rob Richardson if the flap is open the knife will not be secure. The knife will stay I place but will likely bounce/fall out if you do not secure the flap. The Multi carry sheath is the same. They do not hold the knife on friction alone
Thanks for getting back to me. Really appreciated. It's just I'd watched a review and the old multi sheath seems to hold the knife with the little flap open but hey ho, I'm gonna get one. The majority of reviews are very good except for a couple of Dutch lads. They went well overboard with the bad review. I've read somewhere on a forum that they are shills for a rival knife company so... I'll pay them no mind. I'm getting one for my birthday end of this month. If I may ask one more question, I'm wanting the carbon steel knife but I was wondering which sharpener to get, the dc4 or the cc4?
Rob Richardson The multi carry sheath never held the knife just on friction alone. We did make a Nordic style full cover sheath but it wasn’t very popular. Ah, the Dutch Bushcraft “boys”. It wasn’t a very balanced review and I always have to question that if you are being paid by various companies that do not stock TBS products how unbiased can it be. The Boar has been reviewed by dozens of independent reviewers and all have been favourable. I suppose it is the World we live in today.... My personal preference on sharpening stone for the field is the CC4.
HRC's are always more of an average approximation with any knife brand. When they are heat treated it is likely that it maybe as high as 59 on the K720 and N695 Mk II versions. The N690co variants are 60HRC but that is a different, harder stainless steel

Yes I suppose it would look good on the Black Micarta version.
Do you think the sheath will hold a casstron Lars falt knife?

Is there a dealer for these knives in the U.S.A? Would like to get a Timberwolf
That new multi-sheath looks good!
Will there be a left handed version. I did look in the shop and didn't see that option.

Rob Richardson , the knife stays in the sheath when the flap is fastened and not by friction.
