I've been a metalhead since the early 80s. I love the music to this day, but when BABYMETAL appeared on my feed, I was floored. I can't believe their energy and did not know how much I needed choreography in my Metal music. Other bands have good music, but if you want to be entertained, then BABYMETAL is where to be. BABYMETAL is a gateway for people who may not like or know metal. I'm sure you can find something you may like.
@@paulschmehl2124 Yep. BABYMETAL fans (The One) realize that they are not for everyone. We do appreciate an honest reaction: for, against or neutral. Thanks. 🦊 🖖❤
Good first reaction. They are real metal - just not as you may know it. They don't copy the same old formats or do things the same way as other bands, they don't scream or growl (there are some growls in some songs, but only where when there is a reason for it - and the growls are on backing track), they are not constantly angry or trying to be evil. Their songs are generally positive and uplifting ... or just fun and happy and, unlike too much metal in recent years, they have melody. No the girls don't play the instruments - same as most singers, they sing (and they sing beautifully - Su-metal the lead vocalist in particular is an amazing and incredibly versatile vocalist ... the whole concept was formed around her vocal talents and their stage presence). But unlike the singers in any other metal band they also dance - they have bespoke choreo for every song, mostly interpretive, so it relates to the meaning of the song or helps to interpret a lyric ... but mostly it is designed to lead the audience, to involve and include everybody. They give the audience their cues to jump, pump their fists, chant, shout and sing along. In their live shows they are supported by the Kami Band, the Kami Band of the East are among the very finest Japanese session musicians, every one of them a world class musician. Since 2019 they have been supported on their lengthier tours around the world by the Kami Band of the West, American musicians. The name BABYMETAL is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were aged 12 and 11 so it probably did play a part too). The name was chosen for two reasons: - to symbolise that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal) - because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun): BABYMETAL = ベビーメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru) heavy metal = ヘビーメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru) @jakemuller8626 already explained about 'Maya' referencing Hindu (and other eastern philosophies') representation of illusion. None of BABYMETAL's own songs have anything to do with anime. They do draw inspiration in some of their songs from musical styles from around the world and they will mix and blend many different musical styles and genres with the metal. They have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last and the next will be different again ... but they are all distinctively BABYMETAL. It is possible (but unlikely) that you will not like a song ... perhaps one will be "too metal" for your own tastes - no problem, try another song and the chances are you'll love it.
Not ALWAYS on backing tracks anymore. Momo started doing live growling during "Metali" throughout their 2023 tour with Dethklok, and I expect her to continue that since they've discovered she can do it!
@@garykeeling2275 The "Are you ready" was her, but was probably still on backing track - her growls in Momobanger (and was it 'Yava' or 'Meta Taro') recently were live. I just hope they keep it for when it is relevant - as an accent or novelty within the occasional song. Just because she can doesn't mean she should. That's what I don't like about bands with screamers, they force it into every song for no other reason than they have a screamer.
Thanks for your honest reaction. Babymetal consistently promote positivity, happiness and joy. Hope that you will listen to more of their performances ❤🦊🤘
Im 47 and discovered them late 2022, and my wife and I saw them twice in Texas last year and it was an absolute treat! They were built on the dichotomy of sounds of true heavy metal, and cutesy high pitched singing and dancing, to make metal less scary or aggressive. A few thoughts. No two songs sound even remotely alike. They blend lots of genres with metal. Every single song has full choreo acting out the lyrics of the songs. Their relentless energy and stage presence is unmatched by anyone ive seen in my life. They just make me happy and make me smile! I hope you enjoy whatever they suggest! ❤
To most Americans, metal is pretty one-dimensional. It's dark, edgy, angry, visceral and rough around the edges, often an outlet for our most negative emotions (and that's not necessarily a bad thing). That is what sells in the US and much of the West. However, that is just one end of a very vibrant spectrum. In Europe and Japan, especially, they are exploring the other end of the metal spectrum, and a lot of it is like nothing you've ever heard! You have European bands like Nightwish and Epica, as well as America's Kamelot and Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Japan's Lovebites, Galneryus and Unlucky Morpheus blending metal sounds with classical music (as in the old composers, not classic rock). You also have bands merging metal with traditional folk music of their homelands, including Nightwish (Finland), Falconer (Sweden), and Wagakki Band (Japan). Others play more contemporary metal music but blend in traditional instruments, like Japan's Nemophila and Hanabie. And a lot of that music is particularly uplifting with very posiive and inspirational messages, notably Lovebites (Japan), Nemophila (Japan), and Helloween (Germany). So on one end of the metal spectrum is some of the darkest, ugliest and most violent music made, but on the other end is some of the most inspirational, imaginative, unique and beautiful music you'll ever hear. By the way, regarding BABYMETAL, the reason for the name is two-fold. First, it is a newborn genre, the first to blend heavy metal instrumentation with J-pop vocals and dance. It is also a play on words, as one of the Japanese words for "heavy" is "bebi," which is pronounced almost the same as "baby," so "babymetal" literally means "heavy metal." The fact that they were 11-12 years old when the group first started also played well into the name, though that wasn't the reasoning behind it.
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 Always glad to see new reactors getting into this amazing group, trust me, you won't see any other project like this. In general this new album called The Other One is more mature and serious unlike previous albums and early era songs, still enjoyable and more appealing for new fans maybe. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. About this song: This song belongs to latest album The Other One but it wasn't part of the 5 singles prior to the album release, although it becomes one of fans favorite from this album real fast. The nasty riffs reminds to "Ice Nine Kills - Rainy Day". Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that's the reference. Here's some official info: MAYA (ILLUSION) _Reality is an illusion. The truth may be a deception._ _It is a feeling as if you wandered in between the Real World and the Virtual World. It may be magic, or it may be an illusion._ The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) gives some aggressive flavor that i really like and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, just so you know this was performed during Black Night (that's why they're wearing the old battle dress from Metal Galaxy era and she ain't got a mic), at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume you can see at Mirror Mirror, METALIZM official MV and more recently Divine Attack - Shingeki live version. Next suggestion to meet songs from early era: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV. I'm gonna try to left in my next comment where to get more clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it. Nice job👊🏽⚡️There is very little screaming or growling in Babymetal. Just good music. This is one of their more industrial metal sounding songs. 🦊🤘🏾 Thankyou for the prayer. The same to you. Thankyou for your service 🫡
Morning morning. Enjoying my morning coffee while watching your reactions. Always a pleasure! I think the reason why people keep coming to your room is because you are open to listen to ANYTHING, including styles you don’t personally like. Always with an open heart, and your reactions are always very honest and sincere. Secondly, and this is for me personally, I love seeing how you get more and more Dimashified in every video you share. I believe that when you started your journey, you commented a lot on his angelic voice and range. But, just as for me, exactly like for me, after a while we start noticing the emotions behind every note, and the very strong messages in his lyrics. And because of your reactions, I get a chance to relive how I felt when I first stumbled upon Dimash. It’s like nostalgia in another person’s body, to express it in a strange way:) So, thank you for consistently uploading your videos because the are a perfect match to my morning coffee in Tokyo, Japan! 👍 👍 Thank you for your service sir. I think if you explore more of these young ladies music you will enjoy it. Some information and suggestions below BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old. All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. In the beginning Amuse showed little interest and the girls had minimal financing. They performed at strip malls and small venues borrowing clothes for shows from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They quickly became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to HQ pro shot videos of LIVE performances instead of official MV's (the reason is that the vast majority of MV's use studio audio over LIVE footage AND without the awesome Kami Band instrumentals) They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Dragonforce, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24, 2023 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again soon.
I was (and still mostly am) not a fan of all the screaming in metal but loved the instrumentation, so Babymetal was amazing for me when I discovered it. They grew on me so quick! Thank you for trying them out :)

Good reaction! I've been a fan of BABYMETAL for over 10 years, ever since Sakura Gakuin, BABYMETAL predecessor BABYMETAL musical background changes with each member's generation. Personally, I don't dislike any of the songs, but I especially love the amazing live footage. By the way, the female band "BAND-MAID" that I have been into for about 5 years has really good songs, and their latest live song is "HEITE?". It's amazing and highly recommended.
Good one, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. As many others have mentioned, they are definitely not like any other metal band or group. They mix metal with any other genre you can imagine. Just think about one and they have it, hehe. Just as you mentioned, their live performances are something else (specially big format arena shows in Japan). But they are incredibly good even on smaller venues, without all the big screens, lights and laser show. Just they and their backing band, the Kami Band. But yeah we all dream to see one of those big shows... well, not a dream anymore for me. 😁 Personally, I'm a lifelong metalhead, old school. And I got hooked from the very first moment I discovered them in late 2019. Now, I consider myself a die-hard BABYMETAL fan almost exclusively. Until next time! 🤘🦊
And it is one of the biggest on Jones of the indian Mythologie. These goddesd is also known under another name. She is also known as Shiwa, goddess of financial weaöth. And this is simply Babymetals style. Su takes everything on metal out of the darknesd into the light. But this has nothing to do with their name. It has more to do how you write heavy metal in japanese. With a slight Modifikation heavy becomes Baby . And yes their concerts Arendt cheap.they have their complete backing Band slightly left behind them, but while this isn't cheap this Arena has more than 15.000 guest and normslly they are soldbout with such audiences such problems are trivial. Even on their World Tour most locations have more than 4000 visitors.
Nice honest, first reaction, and I think that you will find that Babymetal is not like Metal, as you know it. I am sure you have plenty of information below, so I will not go into the history, but will suffice to say that in my 50 years of listening to metal over the years, nothing, and I mean nothing, has kept me so interested and happy to listen to. Understandably, not for everyone...but if given an honest chance, people would be pleasantly surprised! Thank you for your service, and I hope that your channel continues to grow.
⚡ 💕 🍑 / 🪬 🌀 "BABYMETAL" refers to a "new born genre of metal", not the members ages like some people guess. Although they were quite young when the project started. Also, "heavy" and "baby" rhyme in Japanese, and are written very similarly. ヘビメタル = Hebimetaru = Heavy Metal ベビメタル = Bebimetaru = Babymetal (The "u" is devoiced, or silent.) 'MAYA' is the Goddess of illusion in Hindu and related religions. It's also a concept in Buddhist philosophy, responsible for concealment about the illusionary nature of things. The upshot is that the world is not what it seems.
Long time metal fan (56) and they are very much metal but with clean vocals and melody.

👍👍👍What an awesome comment. 🦊 🖖❤
Great comment! 🤘🦊🔥
I would also say Alestorm is an example of metal which isn't about dark, edgy, angry.
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐
Always glad to see new reactors getting into this amazing group, trust me, you won't see any other project like this.
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
About this song:
This song belongs to latest album The Other One but it wasn't part of the 5 singles prior to the album release, although it becomes one of fans favorite from this album real fast.
The nasty riffs reminds to "Ice Nine Kills - Rainy Day".
Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that's the reference.
Here's some official info:
MAYA
(ILLUSION)
_Reality is an illusion. The truth may be a deception._
_It is a feeling as if you wandered in between the Real World and the Virtual World. It may be magic, or it may be an illusion._
The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) gives some aggressive flavor that i really like and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, just so you know this was performed during Black Night (that's why they're wearing the old battle dress from Metal Galaxy era and she ain't got a mic), at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume you can see at Mirror Mirror, METALIZM official MV and more recently Divine Attack - Shingeki live version.
Next suggestion to meet songs from early era:
- Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV.
I'm gonna try to left in my next comment where to get more clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it.
See you next time 🦊🤘🎸
Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
- Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
ua-cam.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/v-deo.html
- Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html
- Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
ua-cam.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/v-deo.html
- Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
ua-cam.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/v-deo.html
- Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
ua-cam.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/v-deo.html
- Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
ua-cam.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/v-deo.html
- Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html
- Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
ua-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/v-deo.html
- Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
ua-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/v-deo.html
- Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
ua-cam.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/v-deo.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
ua-cam.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/v-deo.html
- Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
ua-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/v-deo.html
- Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
ua-cam.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/v-deo.html
- Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
ua-cam.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/v-deo.html
- Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
ua-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/v-deo.htmlsi=GHjAqEdHM0gUDRk7
- Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
ua-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/v-deo.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
- GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
ua-cam.com/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/v-deo.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
ua-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/v-deo.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
ua-cam.com/video/gDne0xwniTg/v-deo.html
There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one.

Thank you for the education. I am always amazed by how knowledgeable fans are of the artists that they love.
Nice job👊🏽⚡️There is very little screaming or growling in Babymetal. Just good music. This is one of their more industrial metal sounding songs. 🦊🤘🏾 Thankyou for the prayer. The same to you. Thankyou for your service 🫡
BABYMETAL is something unique, special and very talented. 🤘🦊🤘
It’s like nostalgia in another person’s body, to express it in a strange way:)
So, thank you for consistently uploading your videos because the are a perfect match to my morning coffee in Tokyo, Japan!

Thank you for your service sir.
I think if you explore more of these young ladies music you will enjoy it. Some information and suggestions below
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno.
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to HQ pro shot videos of LIVE performances instead of official MV's (the reason is that the vast majority of MV's use studio audio over LIVE footage AND without the awesome Kami Band instrumentals)
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Dragonforce, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1, 2023 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24, 2023 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again soon.
ありがとう!

どういたしまして!
I was (and still mostly am) not a fan of all the screaming in metal but loved the instrumentation, so Babymetal was amazing for me when I discovered it. They grew on me so quick! Thank you for trying them out :)
Thanks for your great reaction. Your voice makes me feel very comfortable. I recommend Babymetal - Light and Darkness (PIA Arena 2023 Live)

Oh I also never was a Metal fan, but I can enjoy Babymetal a lot! Welcome to the club :D
Personally, I'm a lifelong metalhead, old school. And I got hooked from the very first moment I discovered them in late 2019. Now, I consider myself a die-hard BABYMETAL fan almost exclusively.
Until next time!

With a slight Modifikation heavy becomes Baby
Welcome to BABYMETAL🤘🦊♪
🤘🦊🤘
Nice honest, first reaction, and I think that you will find that Babymetal is not like Metal, as you know it. I am sure you have plenty of information below, so I will not go into the history, but will suffice to say that in my 50 years of listening to metal over the years, nothing, and I mean nothing, has kept me so interested and happy to listen to. Understandably, not for everyone...but if given an honest chance, people would be pleasantly surprised! Thank you for your service, and I hope that your channel continues to grow.
Thank you.,

"BABYMETAL" refers to a "new born genre of metal", not the members ages like some people guess.
Although they were quite young when the project started.
Also, "heavy" and "baby" rhyme in Japanese, and are written very similarly.
ヘビメタル = Hebimetaru = Heavy Metal
ベビメタル = Bebimetaru = Babymetal
(The "u" is devoiced, or silent.)
'MAYA' is the Goddess of illusion in Hindu and related religions.
It's also a concept in Buddhist philosophy, responsible for concealment about the illusionary nature of things.
The upshot is that the world is not what it seems.
