Your page has recently inspired me to get into taxidermy something I’ve always wanted to do, for that thank you and I am going to continue to watch and support your page!! ❤️🦌🦌🦌🦌
I always thought taxidermy was preserving the whole animal and was always really confused about why it didn't smell really bad. It makes total sense that you only use the skin
I really like this form of your videos where you talk about the deer species your mounting instead of just explaining how you mount it. Which is just a rinse and repeat of every other video.
I have to ask… how do you know what size mannequin you’re going to need? Is there a lot of wiggle room with the elasticity of the skin? How soon do you have to taxidermy the animal hide before it’s no longer possible to stuff it? And is the process for preparing the hide for taxidermy different than just a normal tanning?
Fallow Deer are very beautiful. I have a Reindeer hide, and a Caribou hide. I would like to have a spotted Fallow Deer hide, too. I wish the extinct Giant Irish Elk could be resurected from DNA.
In Canada, Parc Oméga Quebec, a place that has lots of deer, wolves, bears, foxes, and other cool animals live, it’s kinda like a zoo but more natural and they have wide areas to roam so the animals don’t think they are captive, kinda like Yellowstone but, different. But they have Fallow Deer and they are so cute!
@@Certifiedsavage1they often give it to the customer or sell it. I buy scraps for various uses from a taxidermist. Like the end bits from a head mount.

@pr1mec0ntent71 they were gonna have him be a mule deer but a n illustrator convinced disney to change to a white tail as they are a more recognizable species across the whole USA rather then just the west
@@OnionKween No one is paying to stuff and mount an animal they didn't kill. Not a single person would snag a corpse off the road and say "yep this would make a good mount".
My mom said these are real animals fur, and killed it and froze the bone and body, fixed the hole of blood, and made it look real and its real.. so is this one the same or not?(just asking)
That's not how taxidermy works. They skin the animal and put the hide over a pre-made form like the one you see here. It would decay and rot if you didn't preserve it properly by tanning the hide and removing the insides.
That's... Not how it works. They can freeze pelts to work on later, but it still is formed over a mannequin of some sort. Be it polyurethane, wood, plastic, felt, etc. The pelt has to be preserved through some form of tanning or pickling.

What happens to the back hide? Do you keep it or does the costumer get it back?
I work with taxidermy, usually these heads already have the leather cut out, the rest (rear) is sold or the prificional doesn't even receive it
My family raises fallow deer, so it’s actually pretty cool seeing one taxidermy we have the white, tan, and chocolate ones
Do they ever have doelings or bred does for barganing?? I know the chocolate morphs are probably too expensive for me 😂

I had no idea that dear antlers were screwed on. Makes taking them off after the kill pretty easy eh?
I fucking wish they could just screw off... Well technically that can, you just twist the head till it pops off.
Thanks for making videos love taxidermy work.

You do such a great job on these! Very impressive

What a fuckin weird thought process, even as a hunter myself. “that animal is so beautiful I want to literally kill it and skin it”
I wish we had this in the uk
STUNNING
There is a lot of white fallow dears in my area like my street and stuff😊

Is nobody going to talk about the face of the deer before she started fixing the face a bit
yeah

How do u keep the jide from rotting??
Can u show us how u make full body taxidermy
Can you show a complete? From blank canvas to fully completed mount/stand?? Painted/detailed???
How do you preserve the ears?
Just wondering, whats the difference between a fallow and axis?

how hard would it be to make a talking moose head?

And just use fake fur

How much do you charge for taxidermy, say like for a mule deer?
I raise chickens. Some of them are GORGEOUS. How would you do a chicken? The tail feathers can be heavy
I've never done it with chicken, but it's the same process as with any other animal..you can use it to fill cotton and styrofoam
@@dolores6780 hm. Wonder why people don't do them more often. Some sell for tons of money and have feet of plumage.
Thanks for the response 🤠
It's super difficult to do a chicken, you have to get the skin peeled off without cutting through, breaking feathers, or losing feathers altogether.
Do you hunt?
When are we going to dinner? 🌹
Never
Rest in peace Bambi you were delicious venison
What happens if the deer is under size and they bring it to you to get it mounted
You can shape and modify the forms as needed. Build up with polymer clays, sand and cut where needed. It's just a polyurethane foam.
