My fav story indicating Vishnu's trickery is the one wherein Narada thinks he has conquered Kamadeva and then he boasts of that to Shiva. Shiva can see through all of this and he's so sweet and protective and just Shiva basically that he advises Narada to not tell this to Vishnu because he knows what will happen after that. Narada misunderstands thinking that Shiva is jealous of him and thus goes and tells Vishnu. Vishnu smiles. If you're Indian you know that when Vishnu smiles like that then nothing simple is gonna comes out of it. Narada wanders and comes across a realm where he sees a beautiful princess he wants to marry. However the princess and the father say that they want her to get married to Vishnu. Narada goes to Vishnu asking him to give a Hari-like form thinking that in this way he will get the princess. There's some pun between the word Narada uses and monkey. Thus Vishnu gives him a monkey form but Narada thinks he looks like Narayan. He goes to the Swayamvar and gets humiliated by the Devas because of the monkey face and then in front of him Vishnu marries the princess. So then Narada gets angry and I think he curses him, don't remember the details but eventually due to Vishnu's mercy he realises that he hadn't actually conquered Kamadeva but was protected by Vishnu and thus his illusion vanishes. As a kid I disliked Vishnu thinking of him being so complex, tricky and I misunderstood thinking that Vishnu is proud thus I felt deep reverence for Shiva to whom I could easily relate and who just felt all loving. If you read any story of most Bhaktas in India it's quite common for Shiva to bless them with love for Vishnu as in the case of Narsi Mehta and Tulsidasji. Thus as one feels even an iota of sincere love for Shiva one is then immediately blessed by Shiva himself with wisdom to understand Vishnu. The same happened in my case too as I understand the mercy, love, compassion and humility behind Vishnu's apparent trickery.
Yes Narad curses Vishnu that he will require the help of monkey in the next incarnation and thus shiva reincarnated in form of Hanuman and ram , Vishnu s Avatar needed his help for his wife.

Does anyone notice how Bali is SIMULTANEOUSLY PROUD & HUMBLE? He's proud and thus he boastfully asks Vamana to ask anything from him, he's also humble and meek when he meets scholars knowing that they know more than him. It's such a travesty that the most powerful people in Kaliyuga lack such humility and thus our ignorant leaders guide humanity into even deeper ignorance.
Man, I have Mangala (Mars) in Sravana. I sometimes feel like an idiotic noble person. 🤦🏻♀️ I don't have a problem being grateful and loyal, but I do get mocked and excluded for being weird. 🌻
BPHS starts with this: Sun - Rām Moon - Krsna Mercury - Buddha Venus - Parshuram Mars - Narsimha Jupiter - Vamana Saturn - Kurma Rahu - Varaha Ketu - Matsya It's difficult to understand why Parshuram is connected to Venus. Interesting how end - beginning are connected to Rahu - Ketu - Matsya - Varaha. Nodes are literally connected to saving of the Earth and change of epochs - radical and massive changes, sort of revolutionary times. Curious why Kalki Avatar isn't included. Sun, Moon, Mercury is obvious. Mars - Narsimha shows how like Narsimha, Martian nature is pointed anger that doesn't last too long. Narsimha appears, kills Hiranyakashipu and then after blessing Prahlada disappears. Saturn is also interesting. Turtles have extremely long lifespan, Kurma bears the burden of the mountain on the foundation of which samundra manthan happens - thus long time periods, bearing burdens, foundation etc are quite Saturnine. One astrologer, Deepanshu Giri (lunarastro channel) explained that Parshuram is Venusian because Parshuram was very concerned with fairness thus he kills Kshatriyas because due to their unfair wars people suffer thus fairness/equality/justice being very Venusian things it makes sense for Parshuram to be associated with Venus. It's also interesting and simultaneously beautiful that often times the most truly peace loving people can get extremely violent because peace has a purpose too. The purpose of peace is to protect that which os sacred. Thus the love for protecting that which is sacred can lead to violence. Karl Popper also said this thing which agrees with Vedic ideas "Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant...then the tolerant will be destroyed and their tolerance with them." Vamana avatar also signifies Jupiterian generosity coz Bali gets blessed to be the next Indra and other such blessings. In modern Indian culture unfortunately Shukracharya is often portrayed very badly and I often sturggle to understand that. Please feel free to correct my mistakes.
Parshuram was a bhargav(descendent of Brighu the father of Shukra) He fought for Cow cow in Hinduism translates to resources As Taurus the natural 2nd lord is a ox/cow And everything humans desire consume is represented by Venus From clothes to marriage
Interesting thank you. I've had two opps on each foot neither of them worked out. Sat/ket 8h Sravana. Used to love dancing. I might also add, it is very true about being appreciative for any help given with planets in Sravana. One example of this most recently, was of two tutors, and different levels of help. The male tutor couldn't be bothered and whilst under his care for a year I didn't progress ( he was weary of me). The female tutor, gave me loads of help and I progressed whilst under her care...She new how appreciative I was of her help. This is not meant to be discriminative to male or female.
I can’t see what Vishnu did as just or fair! He acted like a typical Jyeshta, being reborn, then disguising and winning through trickery, I mean he has it all planed from the start to be deceitful.. Swarga is the home of both sura and the Asuras as I understood, it’s not their fault that Varuna was too carefree and didn’t give a damn about them even though he was their leader! I’ve always liked Vishnu, but I guess even gods aren’t that Devine. No! aims don’t justify means.. not this time..Bali was playing fair and square, but he is an airhead too.. sometime you need to put your head over your values, DAMN I’m so aggravated by this story, it’s brining out the Kali in me😂
It's well known that Vishnu is biased towards those who love him. The gods have a more loving attitude towards Vishnu than the demons, USUALLY. This results in them going to Vishnu to ask for help. He helps whoever asks. He also helped Bali (he gave Bali Indra's kingdom, and also became his personal friend, and gave him a realm to dwell in that is even superior to indra's kingdom). So, he is not really unfair, just very natural and reciprocative.
Vic DiCara's Astrology Hi Vic! Yeah, I get the moral outcome. In my understanding, these stories are meant to enlighten us by providing a broader prospective on how themes such as love, friendship, greed, anger, etc.. playout in our daily lives, and that we have a free well to choose the high road -and eventually achieve moksha -, or to be swayed and mislead by our “worldly” desires. The complexity of the characters is needed as the plot thickness to reach catharsis. We all can relate to the characters’ motives and actions in some way, and that is pure brilliance, it’s like the Anatomy of the Human Psyche -101. Now, the 5 years old in me still thinks that Vishnu sucks! But the adult would say: Bali could be the ultimate Jyeshta archetype here, as you mentioned in the following video, the way to handle “Vishnu” natives is by stroking their ego and win them over as allies and devotes even. Maybe Bali did actually know that the sage was none other than Vishnu himself, and that he stands no chance in defeating him if he chose to retaliate. I mean he must have some brains, after all he is the King of the Asuras, and you can’t rule such powerful crazy gods by muscle power only, so he probably knew showing humility is the way to get his wish fulfilled.. So yeah, I’m still siding with team Asura 😎😁
My partner has Rahu in Shravana on his ascendent and I have Rahu in Shravana on my descendent. Both have Moon in the same sign as well. If there is one thing we both are obsessed with, it is _study._ We have 19 years difference in age. We both love dancing and always listening to some informative session. Sometimes astrology baffles me.
Jyotish is the science of light, the ultimate light is the effulgence of Parabrahman, Visnu. The nodes of the moon, the top and bottom of the cosmic banyan tree: dhruvaloka the immovable top, sutala the oppulent bottom - both are places uniquely transcendent to the material grind and movement of the bulk inter region of the material creation. Dhruva Maharaja and Bali Maharaja were both kings who demonstrated wonderful devotional qualities. Visnu is the transcendental absolute truth, wherein all apparently contradictory qualities are harmonized. The top of the tree is akin to the leaves of a tree, the hymns of the Vedas, the inlets of the Absolute Truth. That causal substance filters into the cosmic creation through the mind of Lord Brahma, the original progenitor from whom all the sages are born. The roots nourish the tree mainly by giving a foundation, an anchor, a material body to the divine sound emanating from the flute song of Visnu. Sukra is that material development, the concern for the tree of the body. Brhaspati is the advisor and aperture through which the causal substance comes into the conscious heart of the disciple. We can see this tug-o-war churning in the seasonal cycles of a tree. During the bright and warm seasons the leaves are in full bloom collecting the light from above. In the winter that solar energy is accumulated downward into the roots. Like a pendulum of time (Visnu) this cycle sustains the tree over the course of time. Sometimes the pendulum of time, the flow of nectar, favors the development of the suras. Sometimes, in due course, time favors the asuras. To know that this play is all an expression of the ultimate play of Bhagavan is the individual souls purpose and his path is to walk according to the inner vision which comes from hearing the playful flute song of Bhagavan as He glorifies His most beloved.

Interesting. I am a Shravanna Moon 🌝. I had 9 surgeries on my right foot when I was a baby. I was born with a foot deficiency. To get this more interesting: I have Purva Badrpadha Atmakarka, in 6th house, Saturn, which is associated with a goat with one leg. I just have deficiency in one foot... 😂 What this could mean?! Am I strongly activated by this nakshatras?
Vishnu is omnipresent right? It reminds me of akashic records but its a different thing ....Very interesting that i have mercury in shravana ... and ya very inquisitive mind
It's extremely paradoxical and confusing that Shukracharya-Venus usually associated with fairness is not being fair in the nakshatra of fairness i.e. Shravan. Did I get something wrong? 🤔
@@VicDiCaraAstrology that's what is confusing. Shukracharya warms Bali of Vamana's trickery. So what would be truly fair to help Bali with his devotion or to protect his kingdom? Maybe was Shukracharya unaware of the unalloyed devotion that Bali had? Also you know traditionally in India because of misrepresentation Shukracharya is portrayed as evil so wondering about that bias and if there's more to it than meets the eye.
If fundamental view about reality progressed from practical (in "Purva parts" of Vedas) to conceptual (summary of all that is known about consciousness in "Uttara parts" ) can one assume that vedic view might still be a developing view and it can be sort of updated? Well, in case world gets radically changed or we, for example, inhabit other planets/worlds?
Had one query, we are alive because of the movement or circulation system that is circulation of blood and oxygen throughout the body. Now, does Shravana also govern the circulation system of our bodies ?? Because at times the body ceases to function when there is a clot in the brain or heart and that is scientifically due to blockage in blood circulation so could the movement in shravana also imply the circulation of prana or consciousness or in concrete terms, the circulation systems that cannot stop till there is life in a body
My daughter born on 21.february 2020, 8.00 pm friday on (shivaratrii day )is it good to birth on shivaratri? And birth star shravana nakshatra plz reply and her name is rayanmika
Can one associate traditional Hinduism with many worshiped gods to uttara darsan and Hare Krishna Worshiping supreme Vishnu reincarnation that incomposes everything to purva darsan?
śrāvaṇa comes from the verb "śrāv" wich is the causatve of the verbal root śru wich mean to listen/to learn You confused this verb with another one, srāv the causative form of SRU wich means to flow...
its not a confusion but a liberty or double entendre. there are reasons why the roots are phonetically close. many poets play on this entendre - for example in the Bhāgavatam you will hear about "rivers of nectar flowing from mouth to ear."
Puranas are not vaidik . Puranas are mostly distorted vaidic lores, distorted by Buddhist and vaishnavites. Even dayanand Saraswati of Arya Samaj, the most respected vaidic scholar, rejected most of the puranas as unauthentic because they contradict Vedas and many times have stories that appear from nowhere.

Sun - Rām
Moon - Krsna
Mercury - Buddha
Venus - Parshuram
Mars - Narsimha
Jupiter - Vamana
Saturn - Kurma
Rahu - Varaha
Ketu - Matsya
It's difficult to understand why Parshuram is connected to Venus. Interesting how end - beginning are connected to Rahu - Ketu - Matsya - Varaha. Vishnu is omnipresent right? It reminds me of akashic records but its a different thing ....Very interesting that i have mercury in shravana ... and ya very inquisitive mind
How can someone born in the Shravan Nakshatra found his/her true path of life ?
good Purana teller! Kt in Shravana? With Sukra in Dhanista next to it Guru in Ashlesh across....meaning?
It's extremely paradoxical and confusing that Shukracharya-Venus usually associated with fairness is not being fair in the nakshatra of fairness i.e. Shravan. Did I get something wrong? 🤔
why is he not being fair?
@@VicDiCaraAstrology that's what is confusing. Shukracharya warms Bali of Vamana's trickery. So what would be truly fair to help Bali with his devotion or to protect his kingdom? Maybe was Shukracharya unaware of the unalloyed devotion that Bali had? Also you know traditionally in India because of misrepresentation Shukracharya is portrayed as evil so wondering about that bias and if there's more to it than meets the eye.
i am shravana ascendent and shatabisha in moon and sun in hasta all healers and..so confused now
Hello Vic, which APP do you use to calculate the nakshatras position in a chart? Thank you
nothing in particular. anything will do so long as you set it to normal lahiri ayanamsha
If fundamental view about reality progressed from practical (in "Purva parts" of Vedas) to conceptual (summary of all that is known about consciousness in "Uttara parts" ) can one assume that vedic view might still be a developing view and it can be sort of updated? Well, in case world gets radically changed or we, for example, inhabit other planets/worlds?
it was not a progression over time. it is two ways of looking at the veda.
Thank you
Trees do not have a locomotive sense but are alive too.
very interesting!
vishnu controls their roots. they have a locomotive sense, it is their roots. it is not for moving but for standing.

Can one associate traditional Hinduism with many worshiped gods to uttara darsan and Hare Krishna Worshiping supreme Vishnu reincarnation that incomposes everything to purva darsan?
not at all
I've got ketu here...
śrāvaṇa comes from the verb "śrāv" wich is the causatve of the verbal root śru wich mean to listen/to learn
You confused this verb with another one, srāv the causative form of SRU wich means to flow...
its not a confusion but a liberty or double entendre. there are reasons why the roots are phonetically close. many poets play on this entendre - for example in the Bhāgavatam you will hear about "rivers of nectar flowing from mouth to ear."
true devotion
Mine are in capricorn and aquarius
I have moon in this nakshatra
Vishnu is similar to varuna the aasur , so Vishnu is also asur ?
no. Vishnu is neither asura nor deva.

This idea is wrong. Here is evidence:
“The Purāṇa allow one to comprehend the Veda.”
itihāsa-purāṇābhyāṁ vedaṁ samupabṛṁhayet
- Mahābhārata (Ādi.1.267) & Manu Saṁhitā
“Ṛg, Yajur, Sāma, Atharva, Itihāsa, and Purāṇa arise with the exhalation of the Supreme.”
evaṁ vā are ‘sya mahato bhūtasya niḥṣvasitam etadṛg-vedo yajur-vedaḥ sāma-vedo ‘tharvāngirasa itihāsaḥ purāṇam
- Mādhyandina-śruti (Bṛhad-Āraṇyaka 2.4.10)
“The mantras of Ṛg, Sāma, and Yajur manifest from the Supreme Divinity, as did the Purāṇas and the gods.”
ṛcaḥ sāmāni chandāṁsi purāṇaṁ yajuṣā sahaucchiṣṭaj jajñire sarve divi devā divi-śritāḥ
- Atharva Veda (11.7.24)
“I studied the four Veda: Ṛg, Yajur, Sāma, and Atharva, and the fifth Veda: the Itihāsa and Purāṇa.”

- Kauthumīya Chāndogya Upaniṣad (7.1.2)
“Ṛg, Yajur, Sāma, and Atharva are the names of the four Veda. The Itihāsa and Purāṇa are known as the fifth Veda.”
nāma vā ṛg-vedo yajur-vedaḥ sāma-veda ātharvaṇaś caturthaitihāsa-purāṇaḥ pañcamo vedānāṁ vedaḥ
- Chāndogya Upaniṣad (7.1.4)
“[Study of the Veda] includes studying the Itihāsa and Purāṇa.”

- Taittirīya Āraṇyaka (2.9)
“One who thoroughly studies the Veda with their expansions, six appendices, and the Itihāsa and Purāṇa becomes a true knower of the Veda.”
